This is an interesting combo Sjaak.
It appears to me after 20 laps or so, that gear ratios will offer greater times depending on driving style.
I tried 220 to begin with, and found the car very tight and eager to get the course over with, but every now and then when i short-shifted up, i found i was thrashing my ghost.
So i tried 300, and this gave me a much looser car, which slides a lot more, is more reluctant to turn, and doesnt like 2nd gear much. The disadvantage of 300 is the way the longer gearing impacts on the cars suspension, and makes it more boat-like, but the advantages are obvious when you knock a second off your lap time in two laps.
I did that by throwing the car around like a hooligan, and aiming it in straight lines across the kerbs, cutting as much as possible.
With 220 in the box, i found the Impreza was so much sharper, i could power-understeer out to the edge of the track, then lift off, and point the nose precisely for each double apex, which ultimately will yield better times for me, once i get all the adrenalin out of my system and settle down to drive smoothly.
Either way, IMO its like i said: your gear ratio will need to suit your driving style this week.
200-tight and precise with grip..........250...........less grip loose and driftable-300
Somewhere in that scale i reckon.
Good luck all

My T's are 11's and 27.1's at the minute, but i only did 20 experimental laps.
