Did it feel like you were hitting the rev limiter as you enter the left at T1? I haven't tried it yet, does it feel smooth? I'll give it a try tonight after I do some more work.

Jerome

No problems what so ever...smooth I would say.
I actually went down to 190 got .0xx slower T1 but a much faster T2 and last turn/finish line! stayed on 4th gear all track!
But I forgot my splits @ home forgot to bring them to work will post later.

Tried with 200 gearing and got a clean run to get on the board.

12.053
27.208

I was able to improve my T2 a little.
The time between T1 and T2 was blazing 14.929 seconds
I figure that there is possibly a T2 of 26.5xx

Here are my current splits :

T1 12.119
T2 27.048

Cool I'll give it a try when I get a chance.

EDIT - Spent another hour just running around with my head cut off and I have a barely legal (imo will probably submit this and have to provide some pics) run. I still can't seem to get a .7 T1 without missing the next turn completely. Tried 200 and it worked great :)

T1 - 11.855
T2 - 26.753
Final - still not pleased, I think I sacrificed the last turn for more speed at T2 :nervous: Cause of that, I think you still have me by a margin Jack.

Made a healthier improvement, lol.

0'11.969
0'27.152

I'll run again tonight.

P.S. I got a whif of deja vu. This was the same combo I ran on my very first OLR way back when I started playing GT4. The only difference is were using the '03, whereas the other was a '01

My first splits. I don't like all the shifting, so these are with 300 gearing. Works fine for me, helps me to concentrate on driving the car and use Jake's "visualize it all as one turn" method. Besides, if this is a go-kart track, there can't be too much shifting. :sly:

12.039
27.161

BTW - You don't want to race Jake here at LAN in the Autobacs JGTC MR-S. You can't win.

Really.....I'd take that challenge....so long as I get to start in the lead! :scared: heheh

Some splits from me. This is from my 2nd session:

T1: 17.782
T2: 26.836

Nice combo:tup: I'm using 200km/h gearing.

I'm starting on a pretty fresh game and don't have the '03 Subaru Rally Car, what do I need to do to get it?

Quick, fun and to the point! I love this combo
The middle sector is giving me headaches! jaja

T1 11.855
T2 27.207

If I dont get a chance to run some few laps tonight this will be the time ill post since I wont have more time on the weekend :(

Buy it in the GT-mode section.

Then it will be available in arcade.

Another quick session tonight and picked up a little more at the line. ;)

11.962
27.027

Have seen some 26.9XX, but manage to mess up the last turn. :ouch:

STILL using 300 gearing. :D

EDIT: BOARD Update.

I assume Toffe was 11.XXX and not 17.XXX at T1. Otherwise, that was a FAST middle sector. :dopey:

Good to see so many WRSers in here this week and a fun combo, Sjaak.

New splits with 300 top speed.

12.047

Its not much but then again with such a short track a little can actually be a lot.
That puts me just in front of Ricardo. Your turn now, Ricardo. :sly:

This is an interesting combo Sjaak.

It appears to me after 20 laps or so, that gear ratios will offer greater times depending on driving style.

I tried 220 to begin with, and found the car very tight and eager to get the course over with, but every now and then when i short-shifted up, i found i was thrashing my ghost.
So i tried 300, and this gave me a much looser car, which slides a lot more, is more reluctant to turn, and doesnt like 2nd gear much. The disadvantage of 300 is the way the longer gearing impacts on the cars suspension, and makes it more boat-like, but the advantages are obvious when you knock a second off your lap time in two laps.
I did that by throwing the car around like a hooligan, and aiming it in straight lines across the kerbs, cutting as much as possible.
With 220 in the box, i found the Impreza was so much sharper, i could power-understeer out to the edge of the track, then lift off, and point the nose precisely for each double apex, which ultimately will yield better times for me, once i get all the adrenalin out of my system and settle down to drive smoothly.

Either way, IMO its like i said: your gear ratio will need to suit your driving style this week.
200-tight and precise with grip..........250...........less grip loose and driftable-300

Somewhere in that scale i reckon.

Good luck all

:irked:👍

My T's are 11's and 27.1's at the minute, but i only did 20 experimental laps.

I screwed up the last bit, but stayed on the track at least :). 220 gearing.

Hey David, who you callin' a hooligan? :sly:

Seriously, I agree with you on the 300. It might be the lazy way out, but it let me just leave it in 3rd and throw it all over the place, picking up gobs of time. Just much more forgiving, as long as you are willing to overdrive the car and recover. 👍

Good to see you in here. ;)

Still struggling with the right balance of aggression. especially up to T1 there's a fine line between sliding the car just enough for the best time and sliding too much and bogging the motor.

11.850
26.976

There's at least 0.150 at T2 and .250 at the line to get yet if I look at my best three sectors.

Running 200 gearing. Tried 190, 210 and 220 but they felt awkward, might give 300 a try and see what that does

BOARD Update.

Mighty crowded in D2, and mcsqueegy is driving right on top of me. :odd: :D

I noticed that :D. And do you guys think that 300 gearing is better? I've been using 220-230.

I like 300 better, but it's the gearing I almost always use in the rally cars.

I can stay in 3rd, except for 4th on the main straight and 2nd for turn 1. I was having trouble finding my shift points with the lower gearing and I figured out I was faster with 300. Tried 290 and 310, had to use 4th in one other spot or hit limiter with 290, to loggy with 310.

But just my opinion, and I'm in the minority. A lot to be said for driving style as well, and I like to throw the rally cars around a bit. Like a hooligan, some would say. :D

ok guys...I had( finally) a closed door session and I could learn a bit how to hit those curbs before T2...
But is really hard when you are doing an amazing lap and then your wife knocks on the door...but anyway if i have time I ll try to improve...otherwise this is it:
T1 11.656
T2 26.753
Max Speed 420

I was able to improve some on the line.

current splits:

T1 11.959
T2 26.929
