WRS32R.jpg

Here we are, all Camaros parked on Alaskan Way. Not many people reached the finish line this week ; many probably crashed in the walls too many times :D

Promotions :

Sorry I just arrived in the hotel, and I have no time to consider promotions this week. Impress me at Motegi if you think you deserve one.

Wow. Small turn-out. Only 7 people in D2, I guess I got a top 10 by default. (The two greatest words in the english language - Homer)

Great Job Doc, that's a pretty slick time you've got there.

You guys, who got 1'23s.....I bow to you.

(That's an awesome picture flat-out...)

The picture was taken at the end of straight in my fastest lap. (Unsubmitted because above 1'31 :yuck: )

Congrats to those who reach the finish line

@ Casio : <silly question> How could Homer know anything about english language ? </silly question>

I thought shockwaveracing was Div2?

I'm very disappointed. I know I could have done better but I just didn't have the time to put into it.

Decent finish for me ... I couldn't really compete with you really fast guys up to T2, but it looks like I pulled away from those that were level with me from that point on *cough*drew ;) *cough*

Congrats to all podiums 👍 Some amazing, amazingly fast times!!!

You're right.
I moved shockwaveracing up to div 2 section, which means that both div 3 racers under 1'27.500 are requested to post a replay (and not under 1'27.000 as initially).

BTW, did you know that the times database here at GTP is the only one I know to accept GT Mode time submissions ?
Check the link in my sig if you wish to submit your time in the Camaro. 👍

Whew!! Tough race. Congrats to all who managed a clean lap! 👍 Congrats to all the podiums. Well done!

Nice runs by team H&H! Good comeback holl01! You came very close to getting the fifth win. As always you are a true gentleman for posting your excellent setups for all.

Good battle at the end there iceman. 👍 I thought I might have a chance to nip you at the end as I figured I only lost .15 on the final sector. It was good to have you competing in WRS again. :) You are always a tough match!

Asked for or not, here's my replay. It was too hard a race to drive clean, and the results too close not to prove my time to my worthy competitors. Respect.

Damn IT!

Would have been right behind Nat this week, but was too knackered to realise the 9pm watershed had passed, and I hadn't submitted.

Never mind

Will set my alarm for this week

Well done to all as usual.

Laters dudes and dudet's

had to put a stop to Dan's awsome streak 👍

none of you guys tried using the 20/60/20 full diff?

You did well!

Yup. I used it all along. 'cept I was at 17/60/20. I couldn't believe when you posted it! Everyone seemed sure that no aids, no diff, was the way to go, so pffft let 'em go.
I couldn't get around the track without something to stop the wheelspin besides my spastic right foot! :dopey:

I'd post something longer winded... but i'm in a hurry.
congragts to hOt for breaking the streak. 👍

edit:
I tried the lock-diff settings but found the stock dif alot more predictable, and worked alot better with my settings.

I really wanted to try out your diff Curtis I know it would have brought me close to 1:07 flat, but I had no time so considering I spent 2 hours this week and still only a TOUCH behind Toffe, I'm very happy to say the least! I'll see you guys in '06! I'll pop in here and there to see whats happening but I need a break, my rally series is pretty demanding.

That's the first thing I tried in my setup and I was getting alot of wheelspin. When I removed it I was getting traction again. But maybe it's got something to do with my accelerating technique being modified as I got to understand the behaviour of the car on the track :boggled:

Well done Koly,I thought I had a pretty good sector 3.......guess not....over half a second slow.
Congrats everybody-Great Fun!!

You know when you're chasing your ghost, Drew22, and you're *just* ahead at the last split ... but miles ahead at the end? That was the situation for me.

I'm not playing GT tonight, but I'll see about uploading my ghost ... perhaps we can even compare form the T2 point onards?

congrats to my rival hotboi for ending my streak that i'll unlikely do again 👍

maybe if i did the last chickane wrecklesly i may have bet ur time by .0xx but i just wanted to finish the lap as those 1'05 splits were pretty hard to replicate

anyways, heres the replay, cya

I didn't expect that result but hey i'll take it. Only decided to have a go last night and came up with that lap. Congratz to everyone else that ran 👍

I 've attached the max file of the run but i was wondering how you change the name of the file.

Damn, Dr. you must've been FLYING through that last section. Or did that lap have a better than 1'07.xxx T2?

Nice week, even though there weren't many people racing... I tried the 20/60/20 setup, found understeer when off the throttle(when I usually want it to turn in) so I dropped the decel down, but ended up just using the stock diff, I think. I might've ended up with it set at something around 20/60/6 or so.

And I think I uploaded my replay... Let me know if it's not correct... Thanks!

thats actually the lap i submited the splits for a couple days ago. And I ended up putting the tail out in the last corner before the chicane, probably should have been quicker. ;)

So that WAS the lap that you were only a tenth or so ahead of me at T2? WOW.

hey, 5th of 25, cool 👍

congrats, to my JGTC partner, andge for taking the win on div 3 👍 and also congrats to the usual suspects 👍

every week now, i´m starting to enjoy more those normal car races... specialy if they are in GT mode...

i tried the LSD at the start, the turn off, then i tried curtis´idea.

the thing for me was, too much wheel spin because of my mashing-analogstick-type of hitting the gas, in other words, just too hard, a bit stupid.

so the only way to stop wheelspinf for me, was the long gears. and this low reving V8 responded well. if you guys put auto gears at 21 and the LSD at 5/5/5 i´ll bet you beat your ghost in minutes... i did that late monday.

and also, like shig said, a new car is a good thing. i forgot that, only did a refresh on mine.

i also ran with the stiffen chassis, don´t know if you guys used.

and last...

where´s everybody? just 25? maybe its the cold in europe, north america, don´t know...

also, like shig said, a new car is a good thing. i forgot that, only did a refresh on mine.

as far as i know, the refresh fixes the car to brand new status. (which is probably why its so bloody expensive) The only thing it doesn't fix is the damage done to the engine, but that doesn't happen until you've put 5,000 miles or so on it at redline.

*shudder* the roll cage is the devil... i have yet to find ONE car that i put it on and it helped. generally it seems to do nothing more than destroy the car.
The only benefit i've seen from it, is that it does reduce the chassis damage, so the interval between refhreses gets ~25% longer.

good run btw... we had pretty identical T2 times, but you pulled out a nice .3 on me in the last sector. 👍

Kolyana
JETBOYS! I can beat you at something :P
C'mon, you feel honoured with your four thousandths? Good shoving, and I only expected as much. Congrats to the leaders, you guys are incredible...

Jetboy

I've always run the chassis stiffening... :-\ Haven't tried it too much without it I think... I'll make sure I try it before I put that on next time.

basically from my experience... if you're not going to put on the wing, don't do the stiffening. the roll-cage seems to remove most of the mechanical grip of the car, so if you don't have downforce, the cars get really slidey.
also cars with the cage always feel "oversprung".
generally, 99% of the time it seems to be a bad idea.

I'll check all PAL replays tonight, can someone who has downloaded NTSC replays post the result of his check in the thread ?
Jetboys, any news concerning a replay device since your PM ?
