Week 34 Results :
Subaru Impreza Rally Car '01 @ Trial Mountain Circuit

WRS34R.jpg

The good thing about this race is that many people enjoyed it since there was no major difficulty. The sad thing is that Michael Park and Richard Burns are still dead. to them.
Next step (tribute-wise) will be to set up a race in the Lancia S4 for the 20th anniversary of Henri Toivonen death next year. ;)

Sorry mates, I'm posting this late but I'm still in my customer's shop since I can get connected from the hotel.
I don't have much time to take a look at what has been posted, and I rely on the old-timers to deal with the questions or problems that might happen.

I'll take a close at everything posted in the WRS forum friday night, GMT time.

Well done mates 👍 congrats to everybody for your commitment and the tight results.

Catch you later,

--Cyril

WOW 6TH!!! Woooo go me :P,

i like the way you request under a certain time... has that always been done...or am i correct that you just did that first time this week.. <--wow what a badly worded sentence

Annoying, that my barely dirty lap was under 1.21, would got me 4th :P

Since week 30 (when I took over), I've always requested replays under a certain time, though this is the first time I'm mentioning the time itself.
Kent used to do this too when he was posting races this year.

9th overall.....

Not too good, but not too bad, and less than a second behind the leader, who wasnt hotboi!!!

Well done minor!

No offense curtis...

In fact, well done everyone!!!

👍

At least i was ahead of the calculator and the vertically challenged chips there.

Hooray!

Next!

:irked:👍

oh right, cool. Nice idea.
Great times everyone. Extraordinary to see so many times in the 1.21's. Realy close week. If i hadnt beaten my time 2 hours before deadline, i woulda been just .001 ahead of you VEXD :P

Guess I should put more time than 2 or 3 hours in eh? Where's Fabio? Looks like he didnt get it in in time. Great win Shunt!!!

Nice times indeed. 👍

Congrats to the podium racers(not me I'm afraid)( Casio is div.2 or is he promoted)and all who made the finish.

Well done everyone, Chicken Rob, great job, glad you're not in Div.2 anymore, but It's obvious you're where you deserve to be. For me 10th. place in Div.2 is where I deserve to be...sooo average. I always like to think that because GTPlanet attracts the best , most commited and serious drivers, that I'm average among the best!(That's the only way to psych myself into competing each week) That's how all of us average guys should feel!
As usual, great fun and comeradary.( That's probably not spelt right but ya'll know what I mean.)

Like the new avatar? I can't remember that episode of South Park, think it might be the Ethiopian episode from last season. Kenny's always very creative in how he's killed each episode.

Pretty happy with where I ended up. I think with another hour or two I would've been in the 1'20s though. Good job all, excellent showing, shunt!

Here's my replay for all who care...

LOL! I stopped practicing when I knew I had you beat! :D
(I'm kidding of course!)

I couldn't keep my speed up in the sections where I knew it was going to play a factor but I will say, once I realized that I needed to 'take it slow' and not just 'brake late and gun it' out of the turns, my overall times started getting lower and lower.

But then again buddy, you'll definitely get the better of me most of the time...that is until we hit the 'ring' again... :D

Congrats to all the other podium finishers in their respective divisions! 👍

Buckwheat says: "Dem sum phast times!" :D

Peace

Nice work everyone, particularly our new div 1 winner. 👍

I just have to thank Cyril again for a great tribute to a great driver. It's wonderful to see a big turn-out here to remember those we've lost in motorsport. I can't wait for the S4 race. ;)

Here's my replay, I know it's VERY close on the last corner. Both MisterWeary and I have checked it and we both believe that it's clean, but if it is found to be otherwise I will immediately withdraw it.

Il look forward to it:D

Thanks guys. I'm pretty stoked right now. My first win in WRS!! 👍 :)

Sorry to knock ya off there hOt. I found a killer line thru the downhill left after T3 which saved me .15 on the last sector. I didn't know if you or holl01 had found it or not, but I was hoping I would get lucky.... :scared:

Congrats to all the podiums! Good close racing all over the board this week. Makes it a lot of fun! :)

Here's my replay.

and we have a new winner!!!

if my memory is still intact, steve is the 6th winner in WRS GT4 history.

3rdgenracerx and zoky had 1 win, and veilside, holl and hotboi had the rest of the wins. they are the aliens. maybe now we have a new alien that will keep me away from podium each week...

i liked this week... 4th out of 40 for me was good, too bad my 1´20 lap was dirty... but would not make much difference... stunning times, i lost a bunch in the final sector too...

congrats for all winners, we had a new winner in each of the 3 divisions with steve, gt3mich and bleurabbit7. that´s cool 👍

way to go. i WILL WIN someday... even if its on year 4 of GT4 online racing...
hehe, i don´t quit...

bring on week 35 and those VAG´s 👍

wish i'd had time to race this week.
too busy with work + school.

R.I.P. Richard

Brilliant lap minorshunt!!

My position was expected, never put my heart into this race. Probably could of squeezed a 1'20, but definetly not challenge the top 3!!! stunning times guys! 👍

Well done Vexd!, your time is very nice also 👍

Congrats MinorShunt on taking your first win in WRS, good to see 👍
Well done to all the podiums, and just all who took part to honor a great driver 👍

Seems as I've been left out of the results for some reason, I will PM Cyril and let
him know, the time is nothing threatning lol , but I would like to be in the results
to honor the memeory of those departed drivers.

Steve

Wow, definitely some good, close racing going on this week! Good to see some people back in it!

At least i was ahead of the calculator and the vertically challenged chips there.
Hahaha, nice one!
bleurabbit7
Awesome. My first victory. I'm totally surprised. Great times everyone. I'll post my replay later today.
YESSSS!!!! Congrats man! Well deserved!

Minorshunt, wow man, just wow. I'm going to need to download your replay I think, and I don't think I've EVER done that before. I just want to see how you're taking it, because you mention a killer line... :) Mad props on the win!

Sweet week guys, I wish I could've spent more time on it, well, I guess I could've, but I was satisfied enough, lol. On to the A3! 👍

Wow, not quite as rusty as I thought! :)
2nd, (maybe 3rd if Casio is still Div. 2) is something I can be mighty proud about, especially given the quality of the new generation of WRS racers!
Well done to everyone who got in a clean fast lap this week. Look forward to seeing you all again next time there's a tasty arcade combo that I've got the right wheels for! ;)

Until then enjoy the racing, and here's my lap for this week, MAX Drive, NTSC format!

I'm right here  I think someone would have liked it if I would have submitted my run... :P Nope didn't get around to it, been really busy with work and working on projects. Haven't been able to find much time to sleep, so definately no time for GT4. For the record, I had a high 1'21.8 from my one hour session on wednesday, which would put me right at the bottom of D1, somewhere Jerome wouldn't have to be. Sorry about that.

Ok, if you were one of those people who weren't planning on racing this week,(week 35), you might want to change your mind. IT KICKS ASS!!! I LOVE IT!

flat-out
Since week 30 (when I took over), I've always requested replays under a certain time, though this is the first time I'm mentioning the time itself.
Kent used to do this too when he was posting races this year.

Indeed, I did and still would. :P

It can put people in a bind, but it also keeps people on their toes. ;)

I was never a fan of seeing really fast laps get over-looked simply because of their place in the results.

Plus, it goes back to this old philosophy I had about the division system...
For a long time I believed that the division system was too much of a caste system.
Eventually it lead me to the conclusion that divisions should be done away with and "gold, silver, and bronze" should be the results classifications.
Similar to the license tests in the game, people would be grouped based on their time and not their division.

That would make it so that if everyone was to finish within one second of one another, everyone would be grouped in the "gold" category.

Like-wise, if people were to finish 1, 2, or 3 seconds off the leader, they would be grouped into the silver and bronze categories.

Just as well, the division system if an excellent system and at this point I believe it is the best system for the WRS... Tried and true, the divisions allow all of us to compete and "win." 👍

Regarding my performance for Week 34...
I suppose my early retirement from the race shows. :(
Nearly last place... But that doesn't bother me. :D
It just means that lots of people were burning up the track and really trying hard.

Great race and great results!

Good job everyone. 👍
