icemanshooter23If you don't have time then you don't have to. No one's forcing anyone to look for cars. There's already been several posted in here already.
I'm not planning to force everybody to test dozens of cars.CasioI mean if X person has the fastest lap in X car, then I do have to at least test every single car to see which is the fastest. If a car list isn't posted then I have to go out and look for cars.
Flat-outI'm not planning to force everybody to test dozens of cars.
I still haven't decided what I'm gonna do, but :
If I choose that cars will remain secret, I will post a list of all cars matching the specs. On the other hand, if cars can be discussed freely in the thread, there will be no list posted.
So far I prefer to post a list and forbid the car discussion, but I still have a full day to change my mind.
The list won't feature more than 2 dozens of cars, many of which can be excluded simply from the power they reach at +20% (like the Copen someone mentioned earlier). And you won't need a full lap to know whether a car can be competitive or not : there are 11 T-times that will give you a fairly good indication of how the cars compare. So you should have restricted the list to half a dozen car within half an hour.CasioBut if you post a car list, we have to go out and test every car anyway to see which is the fastest, because there will inevitably be faster/slower cars. I know there isn't too many cars, but with one lap of the Ring being ~9 minutes, even taking 6 cars for 1 testing lap will take an hour.
It's not like the car selection won't be discussed outside this room anyway...
KentOh come on!!!
Let's try and have a little bit of a secret this week.
Keeping setups secret is one thing (and it doesn't help people learn how to tune).
Keeping cars secret is another thing all together.
With people not telling there cars it is just a matter of how well you know the cars in the game.
Personally, I would hate to see it come down to Cyril posting a list and everyone using the "fastest" car.
What's the fun of a multi-car week if everyone uses the same car?
My suggestion is to ....
Just once pick a car you like instead of picking a car that is the "fastest."
Plus, just like "Fryz" has said, if you really want to know the fastest car then just chat with someone off the scene.
See, here's what I'm thinking.
If we post a list and there is an obvious "ringer" in the group then everyone will race that car and a week of multiple car choices will be wasted (that ringer car will also be heavily dependant on what the specs for the race are... if we aren't carefull the competition may naturally come down to only one car).
If we don't post a list I think we may be able to get more people running cars they enjoy regardless of how fast it laps. We may also get the chance to let people like Famine excell thanks to a vast knowledge of the game which may make it possible for him to pick a ringer that no one else thought of.
Finally I just want to mention that my time here at the gtp and in the WRS has fallen off dramatically over the last month or so and it is because of my real life (job + work = no free time).
So regarding a list of cars, with the above comment in mind...
I doubt I will have time to run the race none the less test 5 or 6 cars.
None the less, I would like to find a car on my own and run a car I like... Not run a car the pack has deemed fastest.
Flat-O=19 racers prefer a hotlap ; 19 racers prefer a multilapper
My initial plans were a 2-lapper, but then I decided it would be wise to have your opinion first, that's why I count myself in the multilapper votes.CasioIsn't it 19:18?
19 for 1 lap. 17 for 2/3 and 2 for other. Except you are 1 of the others, and you said your vote doesn't count. So what would you prefer Flat-O, it's your deciding vote!
Oh and about car list/secrets, I don't care anymore, I hate you all. I'm just going to keep moaning...
