GT4 WRS Week 55 : "Deep Blue"

Time for some GT Mode, and it'll be a multilapper too. Surprise, surprise. But the race is pretty short (not much longer than one single lap at La Sarthe) and the opponents are no big guns.
Pay attention to the rules about track boundaries : all tarmac/concrete/cobblestone areas are allowed, except the big concrete slab on the outside of the track at T2.

GT Mode / Japan / Subaru / Events / Stars of Pleiades / Race 4 at Deep Forest reverse (3 laps)


Car specifications :
Subaru Impreza Premium Sports Coupe 22B-STi Version (GC) '98 with the following restrictions :
(car can be purchased at the used cars dealer)

• no NA tune, no turbo upgrade, no intercooler (358 hp) ;
• no NOS ;
• sport soft tyres or harder ;
• no wing ; (edited)
• all other parts are allowed ;

Race rules :
Standard clean OLR rules :

• 2 wheels on track at all time ;
• rumble strips are part of the track ;
• any tarmac, concrete or cobblestone area is part of the track, except the big concrete slab on the outside after T2.
• no contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible ;
• no contact with AI ;
• if you're not 100% sure that you lap is clean, then consider it dirty ;
• no hybrids ;
• no cheating of any kind ;
• nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules ;
• save your replay ('save replay' icon).

Thread rules :
You can discuss anything (T times, sector times, speeds, settings, etc) except :

• lap time ;
• final race time ;
• any information which can be used to infer lap/race time.

Special Rule : you can discuss your first lap and fastest lap times.


Submission :
All submissions must be sent to me by PM (flat-out).

• you can submit only once per race ;
• please include in your submission PM your division, name and time(s) ;
• deadline is tuesday 9th may 9pm GMT (L.A. 1pm, New-York 4pm, London 10pm, Paris 11pm, Tokyo wed. 6am, Sydney wed. 8am).

Time verification :
Save your replay and keep it at least a full week after the time has been submitted.

• fastest times each week will be required to submit with verification ;
• any submitted time is subject to a time verification request ;
• when a time verification has been required, the concerned racer must provide a replay before next race deadline ;
• failure to do so will result in the submitted time to be removed for the WRS results and/or GTPlanet Times Database ;
• video replays are not accepted, only .max, .xps or .sps files can be verified.

You don't have to buy one especially for the race, you can use the one you already have. But no 10km (6.2m) car, since it would give an unfair advantage to people using it.

Ooook, why does my 22B is only at 294hp instead of the 358hp indicated in the restriction? That doesn't seems normal. :S

Edit : after some reading I come to the conclusion that it might be pretty normal, considering the aggregation of mileage for the car I bought. hee...

Edit number 2 : Oh now I understood that while Turbo, NA and Intercoolers are prohibited, all the other parts including engine ones are accepted. The 358hp is assuming that I install the accepted engine parts!

hi, had a quick 1.5 hour session and managed to setup the car like this, its a reasonably stable setup, i tried my best to get rid of the crippling understeer which the car possessed with the default setup.

had a crappy finish, but the first corner in the lap is a pain to get right on the 2nd and 3rd laps, i'll probably submit this time unless a better setup arrises

Tried about 30 min in free run to get a hand of the car and did one test race. First lap was 1'22 or 1'23 I think (didn't see it well) and fastest lap was 1'19.7. Maybe you forgot a part on that car of yours dan?

nope, i had all parts fitted correctly, and 358hp. maybe u forgot to realise that this race has mandatory tire wear? so ur free run practicing acccounted for nothing

EDIT: I DIDNT USE A WING, LOL, WHICH ULTIMATELY COST ME 1.5 SECS PER LAP

Yeah, it was pretty late yesterday when I posted the race, and I forgot to mention that wings are NOT allowed.
What's the point in having a wing and still use sports tyres ? (Except having everybody else calling you a ricer, of course).

So sorry for those who already installed the wing and set full downforce, you'll need to uninstall it.

theres 2 hours down the drain for nothing... originally i didnt use the wheel and did a nice time, then i installed the wing and overwrited the previous save. well i might have time next week on tuesday, bye

All of them are allowed.
Can you check if your car is the 22B-STi (there is only one) ? I don't think it's available at the dealer or as a prize car : to me the only place you can purchase it from is the used car dealer.

It's a pain to wait for it to show up in the used car lot. So I just loaded in my ubersave. I think it might be easier for everyone to use a car that is always available or a prize car. The obscure cars seem to cause a problem for most of us... Just my 2 cents...

The car appears in the used car lot on weeks 33, 40, 43, 45, 48, 51, 52, 71 and 78. The übersave is OK as long as the car doesn't have 0.0 or 10.0km.

How do you get it to cycle from one week to the next? Do you have to go race, or something like that?

Every time you race, do a licence or buy a car a day ticks by. Thats what i understand it to be anyway. Ive just reached the first oppurtunity to get the 'black cars' but not got the cash at the moment. Ill get them in another 100 weeks.
As for this weeks race, i left my memory card at a mates house so ill be a bit late posting splits this week. I wasted time doing driving missions again instead after i realised i had no ubersave. 3rd place in the last mission on first attempt . Needless to say i got multiple 5 second penalties, .

You're probably just in the wrong cycle to have the car listed. If you have the money, simply buy cheap cars until the used lot updates then check again, repeat this until the car comes up 👍

I was just thinking it would be easier to pick out a car that is always available so you don't have to wait for the correct week or load an ubersave... I have no problem with the specific car, but there are other imprezzas that are just sitting around... And now I just realized my car in ubersave mode gets the wrong power numbers. I guess I just wish it was easier.

I've bought 15 cars and its updated 3 times with new cars and still no sign of it.

And my garage is filled with manky cars.
