20 + cars, I give up.
Buying wheels is the fastest way I know of to advance days. Go to the "daily specials" for the best turnaround speed.

heh... Manky... never heard of that one before...

No, wheels. At GT Auto.

You need to figure out which week you're in...

Go to the Home screen, then go to Status. Look at the Number of Days (near the upper-right corner of the screen.)

Divide that by 7, then take the last two digits before the decimal and subtract 1. (If the last two digits are 00, then you'd be in week 99 of the cycle. If the last two digits are 01, then you're in week 100.)

For example, my number of days was 1030. I divided that by 7 and got 147.xxxxx. At first, I assumed that meant I was in week 47, but it took 2 weeks for me to get the car, so I figured I must've been in week 46, not week 47. That's why I said you needed to subtract 1 from the last 2 digits. I wound up buying 7 cars, then sold them -- the 14 days went by. Then I went to the used car lot, and BOOM! There was the 22B.

If you're in week 5, for example, you'd have a LOT of cars to buy, because the first time the 22B shows up in the weekly cycle is week 33. You'd need to buy 196 of them to be exact. (Or 196 races or 196 sets of wheels.) The wheels would be cheapest and fastest, in my opinion... Just figure out which week you're in, and then you know how far off you are from getting the right car.

I think I might actually have this puppy in my garage - I think I bought it when it popped up not wanting to miss a deal. :)

Could be thinking about GT3 though... :odd:

If I don't have it, I hope it's not too far away. 👍

[EDIT]
Ignore this post Cyril, it took 3 hrs to get there, but I did!

This is bloody ridiculous Cyril!

Sorry mate (and I really do mean that), but pick another car please!
At least one that we can just buy from the main dealer!

I'm in WK 95!

I am not going to sit here and constantly enter a race, wait, start the race, press start as soon as it starts, exit, confirm, refuse the retry, wait, enter, wait, start, exit, confirm, refuse, wait, enter, wait, start, exit, confirm, refuse, wait etc, etc, etc, ad bleedin nausium.

I've got 38 weeks to get through!

And I have been at it so far for the last hour and a half, and got no-where because I was in wk 84.

At the rate of 1 day per 2 minutes it will take me 8.8 hours to get the car! And that is if I sit here with nothing else to do (pee, sleep, eat, etc), constantly either buying stuff or entering races.

Please change the car?

Edit
Have just been through 3 of the tyre manufacturer's full stocks. The disk is reving up,slowing down, reving up, the laser's doing a fandango, and the temp of my PS2 has jumped from warm (as normal) to hot (not normal).
Please change the car, I do not want to have to buy another PS2 because this one goes belly-up through overheating.

BUY WHEELS IN GT AUTO TO PASS TIME!!!

500 cr. a day! Use the daily special and push push push push push while you watch TV. No selecting necessary.

Thanks Scott!

Don't mean to be a winging git, just don't want my PS2 to go t:ts up!

I now have the misses laying in bed, repeatedly pressing the X button while I write this post. Love is! Ahhh:)

So how are we posting splits this week?

You said we can discuss our first-lap time and our fastest-lap time... So do we just post those? Or do we post splits from all the laps, plus our first and fastest lap times?

Anyway, here's everything from me:

1st Lap:
T1: 32.517
T2: 1'04.393
END: 1'35.176

2nd Lap:
T1: 25.225
T2: 56.808
END: (not my fastest lap, so not posted)

3rd Lap:
T1: 25.009
T2: 55.661
END: 1'25.451

Hopefully Mr. Weary can come up with some sort of leaderboard that doesn't require posting all this info every time -- I suggest the lap-1 time in column 1, the fastest-lap time in column 2, then the sum of the two in the 3rd column. But that's just my opinion...

@ Neil -- I'd be happy to e-mail you my save-game in .max format. Uncrush it onto a spare memory card, then go to the "Trade" screen in the Home menu, and trade my 22B into your collection. Obviously you don't want to do this if you don't have a spare memory card, because it will overwrite your existing save-game if you use the mem-card that has your GT4 save on it.

Beat me to it (by a lot....oh well, need to check more often). Wheels are THE fastest way to pass days. Use the used wheels. Just press X over and over (like SHig said). If you get really lazy, buy a cheap controller at Best Buy that has Auto Fire and set it for X, then put a book on the X button or something else that weighs a lot.

Found the car...Blue  , but got lucky (still no luck trying to find a '92 NSX, I have been searching for months [in real life] and haven't found one)

Best (and only 2nd lap) of a 1'23.xxx, I will spend more time later (need to fix the colossal amount of understeer, but not use my drifting setup [burn the SS tires in one lap...muhahaha]).

Just found out that I'm entrenched deep in the All GT Championship. It'll take tonight's racing to get out of that before I can even check for the car. :indiff:

Hopefully I'll be able to start racing by tomorrow. :)

Well, thanks to Shig's suggestion:cheers: and another hour and a half of pressing the X button over and over and over (my poor thumb:( ) I finally have the car from the used late '90's dealer.

Had to buy 280-odd sets of wheels to get there.

And guess what was the final thing I bought for it?

A brand new set of Yoko wheels!

Anyway off to bed now, and power-down my overworked PS2. The bloody thing's red hot compaired to normal.

Oh, and thanks for the offer Laurence. Very kind of you. Sorted now, but have no spare card (it got 'perminantly borrowed' by a foster kid)

30 min session, no clean races though

I found an interesting way to get a good T1 on the first lap (at least for me, maybe others already know it or use a different way)...pass the 4th place car on the outside of the first corner [holl's setup]. Sounds crazy, yes, but all of my best first laps were done in this fashion. Most likely you will hit the wall, the 4th place car, or the grass, but it is possible to do it cleanly.

Should have times later (possibly good ones, seen a few sectors that were a bit faster than holl).

I'm up to about half an hour, and I'm really getting tired of it.

Can't we just change the rules to any pre '98 Subaru? I don't mind being in an inferior car at all. I just can't bebothered doing this anymore....Also, we havn't had a multi-car in a while.

Flat-out
All of them are allowed.
Can you check if your car is the 22B-STi (there is only one) ? I don't think it's available at the dealer or as a prize car : to me the only place you can purchase it from is the used car dealer.

yup i have the right car, and it was showing much higher figures than the ones you posted... i have 354hp WITHOUT port polishing OR engine balancing, so i have beeen racing with only 354hp for the time being :(

im having realy trouble finding this car so far! Im in the Subaru Impreza Coupe 22B-STi Ver' '98 at the moment, which has alot more HP than the other car, 377 with allowed parts...Back to tapping x for me too :( i hate the used car cycle. <random subject>i just had my hair cut from nipple length to ear length!!! Its insane, i forgot i had ears. </randomsubject>

Is this what they mean by computer games adversely affecting peoples state of mind? :nervous:

I've only had a quick 20 minute session on this weeks race so I'll post some proper times when I've had a bit more practice. I've been using Holl01's set-up for now, I might need to do a bit of tweaking to suit my own driving style (brake hard, turn in whilst trail braking, panic cos I'm running wide, quit race cos 4 wheels are on the grass etc), they're a good place to start anyway, Holl.

Right, I'm off for my next bout of self humiliation, post some proper times, then for some public humiliation.

It sure sucks that not everyone seems to get ahold of the 'exclusive' 22B but I'm glad I did. :embarrassed: ...Yeah. :guilty:

Lap 1
T1: 31.663
T2: 1'03.450
T3: 1'34.312

Been one of those rare times I breezed past the other cars. Superclean, although I suspect to have received a loveslap from P2 on my rear bumper toward the end. :ouch: Moving on...

Lap 2
T1: 26.014
T2: 58.427
T3: 1'29.106

Fastest time.

Lap 3
T1: 26.143
T2: 58.395
T3: It is a mystery.

After following the 'divide by 7 subtract 1' theory from earlier I find I'm currently on week... 16.

Do I want to zip forward? Not really.

Seeyou next week. :)

Board Initialised

Sorry for the delay, I've been setting up my new PC and it's taking some time, she's nice and fast though :)

@shockwave, Flat-out: I'll check Andrew's week 53 lap tonight 👍 I'll also get this car and have a whiz around Deep Forest, I love that track!

Mister Weary can you take my times off the board? They were done with the wing installed.

This would have been great as a time trial. same everything but as a time trail... this car is fun and the track is aggressive.... :)

Is it ok if we mix 'n match the parts to make 358hp? because I have a 0km car and it makes more power with those mods on.

Edit.

nevermind, the hp in the replay will be different. I will just skip this week :P

I feel the same way, see everone next week:).

Dunno why people feel the need to skip the week because it might take 20 minutes to get the car??? But each to their own, personally i'll persevere till I get the car, I'm gonna watch some replays and have a go at this race so I'll be back with splits later.

P.S. I took your splits off iceman 👍

Why?

Well this is the beauty of WRS. we have a choice which weeks we want to run, and can skip or miss as many as we want!.

I dont need to spend 1hr finding a car, then 2-4hrs of restarts due to hitting, being hit by crap AI to know that Dan will win and i will be in the middle of div1.

I can not bring myself to race with GT4 AI, it makes me that frustrated that i want to throw my PS2, TV, DFP through my glass door. As i need my TV and DFP for other things, i would rather not do this. So while i dont mind too much finding the car, its mainly because of AI as to why im not racing.

Small_Fryz

You havn't submitted since week 47 Fryz, in which time we've had 5 races without AI (6 if you include the Nurburging where you could pass them before the first corner).

I don't mean to be offensive here, but the '{I} know that Dan will win and i will be in the middle of div1' attitude isn't the right one to take. If everyone took that attitude only 1 person would be running the WRS every week.

But I do agree with the finding the car point going around. No disrespect to Flat-O, but it's a real pain in the ass. Maybe in future if we do another race with a relatively rare car, and you can't use an uber-save version, we can get some notice before hand? We don't need to know the combo, just time to get the car. I've almost spent an hour waiting for it, and I'd much prefer to be tackling the combo, than buying 7,000 sets of rims.

EDIT: Worked out how much I have to go. I'm on day 2746 (That's sad...) so divide by 7, and that's week 392, minus 1, because someone said so, that's week 391. On a 100 week cycle, the car comes up on week (4)33. Which means I am still 42 weeks away, or 294 days. So if I'm not mistaken I have to press X 1470 more times!

I'll write that out, in words, to illustrate how huge that number is:
One-Thousand-Four-Hundred-And-Seventy

The fastest you can buy 1 set (and thus 1 day) of wheels is 13 seconds. So it's going to take 63 minutes. Of me doing nothing but pressing X, to move forward 294 days. I don't have 63 minutes to waste doing that. Can someone send me their GT4 Save-Game file with this car on it please? (Not 0.0km, I have it)
