Check it, the race lines are just the same. I'm tired of these discussions, hold a poll, organise a meeting or whatever, if you choose to ban me, so it is. If so much discussions just for a damn lap, then to hell with it.

Thanks Bram for the last vid. It confirms my guess that the vid you first posted is in fact 2 laps merged together.
There is not much doubt that from the start to T2 the lap is legitimate, but it's not of any interest right now. The interesting part is after T2 and mainly the final turn.
I don't even want to mention the fact that your second vid conveniently stops a couple of seconds before the finish line. Damn camera, why don't they make them with a bigger storage capacity !
Look at the pics below.
The first one is a screenshot of your first vid, where the car is on the pedestrian crossing right after the apex of the final turn. You can notice that the T2 split time is still displayed.
Now look at the second pic, which comes from the second video, where the car brakes late. The car still hasn't reached the pedestrian crossing and yet the T time is already gone.
My conclusion is that the first vid that shows 1'26.690 at the finish line and the second one you posted, actually come from 2 distinct laps, which breaks the AUP's first rule :
It is also a disrespect towards Kent, who gave you a second chance in 2004, towards me who am nice enough to let you race here while most of your laps are doubtful, and towards all other WRSers who spend much time here having fun, building a community and overall maintaining a friendly atmosphere.
As a consequence, I'm now banning your account Pink_the_Floyd from GT Planet.

I don't think it'll be much of a surprise : one who continuously pisses on someone else's shoes can only expect to be hit where it hurts sooner or later.
You're a quite estimated member outside the WRS, and sadly all that you've been contributing to over the past 2 years will be discontinued. At least as far as your present account is concerned. I'm not banning your spare accounts since I have no problems with them... yet. But try to keep them away from any OLR series.
And last, there is one thing you can do to gain some respect from the racers here : go create your own OLR board and invite there all the Punk-the-Flaw from all over the world.

The reasons why someone would cheat to be 6th in division 2 are still far above my understanding, as are the reasons why one would spend so much effort trying to hide one's own lies instead of putting an equivalent energy in trying to improve one's racing skill.

Well, I don't know bram or any old circumstances but I will say this:
I'm glad he was cought, looks like he put alot of effort into that last cheat which is unbelievable to me.
Max drive is easily accessable in retail stores or on the web, all should use it, no excuse.
I hope there aren't more of his kind here because I already don't feel comfortable racing in the wrs.

Poking eachother is part of the game,
Sometimes we have arguments but in the end we kiss up and move on.
The WRS is one of the cleanest series of the net,thanks to Cyril and the racers, and it will be that way in future.
Exceptions will be happen but will be always caught in the end.
I'm sure in a few races you will be feeling at home here.

This is the main reason Pink has been banned, deception isn't welcome. As has already been mentioned, this is a friendly comp, we're ONLY interested in racing cleanly and fairly and having fun in the process. So rest assured arora this incident is an exception and does not represent the normal WRS.

The video is clearly low tech cheating, but it makes me wonder if one can manipulate the code in the replays to change their time... Is this possible? Could the programmers in the series tell us if this is possible?

No it can't, even making hybrids in GT4 is imposible.

This particular person has been on the radar screen numerous times for dubious laps, dubious times, dubious replays, etc. There's always an excuse, and yet there's never a change in his behaviour. It's the stewards' jobs to make sure the series is clean and above reproach.
And this is exactly why it's the stewards' jobs to protect the series. Integrity here is more important than any particular user.
I'm sorry, I can't see a persistent cheater as a 'great guy' under any circumstances. He may or may not be left with an alternate identity here at GTP, but he will be banned on sight if he posts in any OLR on this forum.

It seems as if I will not be able to post my replay in time this week, unfortunately. I had been waiting because my Maxdrive had been something that I had simply overlooked from my move to college, and had hoped that it might have arrived in a package that I've been waiting for.
This is obviosuly not how I would like to have this week end, with all the controversy. But in the future, I will in college, just as I have at home in New Jersey, prove that I can race cleanly, fairly, and honestly.
