:: GT4 WRS Week 92 ::
Well for my last race we'll finally get out the Suzuki GSX. This car is a rocket when fully modded and a blast to drive. Thanks for the past few weeks of moderatorship gang, I've enjoyed it thoroughly but it's time for me to move on. After this week the WRS will be in the very capable hands of Sphinx (Jerry) and Mr P (Ron), thanks for stepping up guys

Week 92 Race Specifics:

Standard Clean OLR Rules:
  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • no contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • if you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • no hybrids
  • no cheating of any kind
  • nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • save your replay ('Save Ghost Replay' icon)
Thread rules:
The following info cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed on MSN or via other private conversation methods):
  • lap time
  • any information which can be used to infer lap time
Submission:
All submissions must be sent by PM to me (MisterWeary):

  • failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from WRS results
  • video replays are not accepted, only .max, .xps or .sps files can be verified

god what a sticky combo - you almost only need lifts rather than brakes to get round most corners here.
tuning is crucial here and the gsx needs soft settings (to me anyway) or it'll tigger all over the track like a kart with balloon tyres.

20.192 - 39.689 - 1.00.950

very interested to see the buildup of luxy for this combo, especially the t-band for my own div3.

good luck to all and have great fun!

Looks good, will definately run this combo tomorrow.

Sounds interesting... Not my cup of tea, that grippyness, but I'll take some time to try it out. The GSX is already over-grippy on S-tyres...

This thing is a like a go-kart. 👍
First session with stiff settings and bouncing off of the curbing. :scared:

T1 - 19.024
T2 - 36.944
T3 - 56.041

EDIT: I'm having problems with this combo saving my fastest lap. I tried restarting, but it's doing it again. It doesn't register my new fastest lap and I can not save my fastest lap ghost replay, but I can save the entire practice session replay which shows all the info. Will that be okay for a replay submission?

It's definitely a quick go-kart. At full power, it's a wee bit tail-happy, but I don't want to tune all of it out because loose is fast.

First-impression times:

T1 - 0:19.465
T2 - 0:37.588
T3 - 0:56.731

Excelent. i love sticky cars and i love laguna seca. may as well spend the first half of the week finding the line till sombody posts a setup, then i can start chasing a time.

Sounds like I'll have to take this week seriosuly. Certainly a lot easier when you don't have to spend 8 minutes on one lap though..

Sounds like you might be cutting off too much of the pit exit area? I think you're OK cutting across the first line but if you go any further than that it doesn't register your laptime. Hope that helps?

Nice combo Colby, James'll love you for this. :D Thanks for your time as steward, it may have been short lived but you have your reasons for handing it over, (I just hope she lets you race with us), and I for one wouldn't have managed it as long you have without fluffing it up at some point!

Not sure I can let you win though? :sly:

Thanks mate.

Darren.

Wow this thing is awsome. No wheelspin, so much grip, and it handles like a dream.

innitial splits:

T1: 20.x
T2: 38.x
T3: 58.x

That happened to me with the Nurb race last week I had a good lap but the replay was like 23min long, lol. A lot of f-fowarding u know? So long as the lap that shows your splits is clean and the correct HP and tires it should work.

Something like a shifter! Or Formula-C if you're in Europe.

 I love this car!!. I thankyou MisterWeary for this super cool race:bowdown:.
I will race this tonite untill I get a time I'm happy with(to win div2 with I hope:mischievous:).

Edit:
Here is my first try at starting the leaderboard, I hope I did it right:nervous:.

The reason your lap isn't restarting is prob because you're cutting into the pit exit lane after the S/F line, if you do that it stuffs the lap up for some reason, but a full replay save will suffice if that's the case 👍

I hate this car with every bit of my being:grumpy:.
Hate it hate it hate it!!!
But my brother won't leave me alone until I try it so I guess.
I'll have to try it. Thanks alot.
But there were other WRS's that I loved, so I guess. Laters.

Sammy.

1 - 0'19.782
2 - 0'38.531
3 - 0'59.615

That's after about 45 minutes of racing and 3 different tuning settings :nervous:

Didnt get a red one but i got a black one. Better than yellow.

Started fiddling around with the suspension and transmission now.

New splits:
T1: 19.513
T2: 37.627
T3: 57.554

ps. i guess this would be a question to misterweary as well as the two soon to be wrs race stewarts, but do you guys mind if i use these combos on a continuing basis, as fodder for my photomode thread? i need some new ideas, and these car and track combos every week would give me plenty to do.

You can use the race ideas however you like 👍

Like the car, but even with just 275 hp it is a beast.

t1-20.195
t2-39.879
t3-1.01.564

The more camber that is put on, makes the car just grip more I am using 3.0 front and 2.0 rear!

DAN:tup:

First session

T1 - 19.172
T2 - 36.966
T3 - 56.053

Default settings used, except gears. TCS and ASM switched off also.

big improvement after some more tries using following setup:
brakes 2/3, lsd 5/5/5 and suspension default with rh 69/74 and shocks 4x6

19.428 - 38.691 - 59.800

great fun colby!
now i'm trying to balance between brakes & grip or speed & slide corners.

All default settings other than all aids off and max downforce:

19.590 - 37.696 - 56.996

With the current setup there's at least a second to a second and a half in it.

At this point I'm thinking I want a bit more rotation so I'll try aero first and then start playing with suspension. I'd also like to remove some of the twitchiness from touching curbs as well as at the kink before the corkscrew (soften/raise suspension??, maybe a tiny bit of TCS to keep it straight when acceleration with a wheel on a curb??), we'll see tonight what seems to work.

I tried this and I got ok time, but I know I can go faster. Here is what I got.

T1-19:185
T2-36:649
T3-55:370

And here is a leaderboard update:).
