just a quick question.

if we create a PSN account saying we are from NA will we be able to participate even if were in say, AUSTRALIA?

or will it do an IP check?

I’m sure that the guy that finishes 129th in round one in whatever region that you fraudulently represent that you live in, will use his air miles to visit Australia and track you down to use a crow bar to patch your PS3 with, if you are lucky enough to make it through to round 3 and then get kicked out of the competition for being a fraud as you will have to prove your false residency.

**It now says you have to register at the website to enter.**

It always said that. And it's the rules. You do have to register on the site to be eligible. Just running the events won't be enough to qualify.

Ah. Didn't realize.

The first time I tried it wasn't there at all. When I went back that disclaimer was there so I assumed it was new. My mistake.

I'm not sure if you could do this in the Demo Time Trial or not, but I guess you can take other peoples Ghost replays (and regular replays) and save them and play them while your doing your runs.

Very helpful I think.

Dumb question - are the cars you drive in this awarded to you, have to be bought, or just part of the competition (like in special events or license tests)?

How do I get in? I already registered the day after the registration opened, I got the 1.05 installed, i can view GT Academy, but I can't get in any races. It keeps telling me to register, I am already registered. I checked the offical site and clicked on MYGT5 to view my profile, It views my exact GT5 profile and its correct so I know I registered the right PSN.

Anyone having the same problems?

AHHHH Nevermind just after I posted here it worked! is gtplanet.net linked with the offical site or something? cuz right after posting it worked LOL

The car is part of the competition just like special events and license tests…

Will I have to earn/buy another GTR academy version if my brother already did the N/A engine upgrade (which is uninstallable...)? In other words can you upgrade the cars you already have in your garage to enter the competition?

No, it is a competition, a special event, which only you can use the car and equimpent provided. The purpose is to be equal to everyone. only thing you can change is TCS, ABS, and couple other driving aids.

Ahh ok..it's more like the Sebastian Loeb rally set than like the beginner/intermediate set (hp restriction only) in the Special Events section.

Whew. Good to know. Would've been a pain to have to get those golds on S License again.

OK, why call this GT5 Driving Academy NORTH AMERICA, when you can only enter it with a US PSN account? Last time I checked there was more to NA than the US, and Canada is on the NORTH AMERICAN continent.

Geez.

BTW, this is my first complaint about GT5. I've been biting my tongue.

Driving line: Off

Race 1: Fairlady Z (Z34) '08 - Tsukuba Circuit
Race 2: Skyline Coupe 370GT Type SP '07 - Rome/Reverse
Race 3: 370Z Tuned Car (GT Academy Version) - Cape Ring

what tires are these cars on? I can't play until Thursday so is like to get some practice in.
Trying by memory so if others know these are wrong please chime in with the correct tires.
I think these are correct, though.
At least they're closer (if not correct) than the last couple of responses.

For Tsukuba : comfort medium
For Rome: comfort soft
For the Cape: sport medium
