G’day everyone, would like to share a video I made of my cockpit build & some demo clips. This is the second I’ve built which excluding wheel & TV cost around $180 Australian. It’s constructed out of 12mm MDF & structurally reinforced/joined using 18x42mm pine making it both light & strong. Its been finished in a satin black paint with car matting on both the floor & dash, it also has small rubber wheels on the rear so it’s easily moved around.

My first cockpit was built around a Fanatec wheel but after frying the pcm through counter steering (feedback servo being driven created its own current & the diode couldn’t cope) I picked up a cheap Logitech DFGT which is proving to be very reliable.

Hope you enjoy, Kale.

Yes I can say the fanatec was a lot nicer lol, the dfgt isn’t a bad wheel but the pedals are woeful. The thing that is best about it tho is I can have mates jump on it blind drunk & I don’t have any worries about it breaking :P Once I build up my tools to the point I can work with metal I will build something very similar to chillicoke’s with a G27.
