GT5 Demo drift

Hey guys just wondering what you all think about drifting in the gt5 demo ?

I think it's alot harder but it feels more realistic compared to gt5p

Snap-back is pretty brutal but once the drift is going it feels very good to me. Obviously the standard 370z could do with a little bit more power

tell me what you guys think

I think it would be much better with the stock 370 if there was a way to turn off TC. Because drifting on the tuned 370 is just way too hard and unpredictable.

Yes it is working, as soon as you get a little sideways it cuts the power and it really hacks me off! The tuned version you can shut it off as said previously but the car just isn't tailored to drift at all, it wants to grip.

im using a G25 & i think that cancels the TC dispite it saying '7'
either that or its not working... no cut to power, i suck at drifting though

I'm not a bad drifter and I gave it a whirl and the power just doesn't go down as soon as you get any real angle. I tried on both axis and G25.

Seriously guys, you can see the TCS cutting some of the throttle when you do it on the little gauges. As soon as you get sideways in the stock car the tyres just won't spin, you can get sideways but only for a brief period as the throttle is your main source of control once you really get some angle.

nope you can do huge slides on the bank before the main straight (turn 12 and 13) and I drifted turn 6 all the way too

It is really snappy and it still takes a bit of luck for me to get it right but my tc is definitley not working at all :dopey:

For those of you who do not know. Only pad users are getting stuck with TC. If you are using a wheel, the TC is disabled.

;)

i haven't really tried, but using the wheel i am able to SET the TC off using the G25, wish there was a clutch though... I was just trying to learn the tracks but i am going to give the drifting some GO tonight when i get home, see what i can do, i tried to get sideways around a few turns, but i couldn't hold it, I either Spun, or i got too much angle and then lost power as the throttle control feels weird. I will play some more when i get home. :)👍

To be fair... This "demo" is a proving ground for the GT Academy. They've limited a lot of aspects, to make things fair, or to suit the criteria they are looking for. Using a pad to win, isn't necessarily going to transfer well to a real car. Whereas a wheel user isn't making such a jump from the sim to the real world. This is most likely their thinking on the matter.

;)

Well, Yes, I understand that, but in a way, this is still a demo of the new physics engine. How can a majority of players test the physics to their fullest if they aren't able to unable those assists? That's the only minor reason why I'm complaining. The major reason is because I wanted to drift!!!

Don't they make you use a wheel in the next stage of the academy anyway? Which would then sort out those who aren't good with one.

No it isn't. This demo is purely for the GT Academy, as well as giving people a taste of the new physics engine. A proper GT5 demo would (I assume) show off all aspects of the game, graphics etc.

I cannot agree more. (I hoped for damage )

Bingo...

Think of this less as a demo, and more as a test...

no...tc is on either if you have a wheel or not.why would you think tc is on ONLY for people who use pad?

TC is on for people who use a wheel or pad. However, people with a wheel can turn it off. If you are using a Dual Shock, you are stuck with TC on...

;)

i don't know is the car or is it me but i just can't hold it sideways 9 times out of 10 i spin the car, in prologue i could get some decent drifts nothing spectacular but i could hold it and at this demo i just suck at it i'm using dfp

does anyone have a video uploaded or something i'm really curious if someone can drift in this demo cuz its bloody hard

where is this option to turn off tc for wheel users at?

Someone else will have to answer that. I've been so busy with my cockpit build, I haven't downloaded the trial yet. However, it seems to be common knowledge in the Mod Forum that TC is only on all the time for pad users. It's understood that this was done to seperate the wheel users from the pad users, as the wheel users are all they are interested in for the GT Academy.

;)

i never knew tc was always on for controller users ouch.well anyway does anyone know how to turn off tc by any chance i highy doubt there is a option for it .o yea when you finish ya cockpit setup can i see pics ?

In the pre-racing screen, under car settings.

feel free to correct me if i'm wrong, i'm using a G25, and in the Driving options where the TC is set to (7) It is not highlighted as something that can be changed/adjusted. I thought it was off as i get MASSIVE wheel spin and if i don't get huge angle you can drift a few of the turns. Also i don't see the TC altering the throttle inputs. :dunce: When i go into the race and driving options, the only thing it looks like i can alter is Manual/Auto transmission and driving line. everything else is a darker shade. I thought i remember turning it off the first time i played, but this weekend when i was messing around it didn't seem to be available.

Same for me. Theres no option to adjust tc only the transmisson and the driving line
