They should focus on GT6 but still keep GT5 alive with a limited amount of DLC offerings now and then. That said, it doesn't make much sense to keep tweaking GT5 as the game seems to have fundamental flaws which would require a redesigned game engine. Therefore, the sooner we get GT6 the better but they also have to make sure that it can deliver from day one. I'll loose faith and patience if GT6 turns out as another yet expanded GT5.

So many people misunderstand what supporting PS3 until 2015 and 10 life cycle actually mean. PS3 until 2015 does not automatically mean no PS4 until after that date. Simonk said it prefect.

I just want GT6, whatever system it is on. I want it to be a huge, knock the hat off your head, improvement over GT5. If that requires PS4 than so be it. If it can be done on PS3 than give it to us in 2013.

Exactly. The original Playstation was released in 1995 and Sony cancelled support for it in 2006 (Last game being in late 2005).
Same with the PS2. Released in 2000; yet the latest Fifa and PES games are to be released on it this year with no signs of Sony cancelling support yet. (Should be soon though).
The PS3 released in 2006 and I can definitely see it living up till 2016 (Possibly more due to these hard economic times).

But Sony has stated numerous times they want to release their new console before Microsoft for that head start; which they missed out on for the PS3, plus the fact they are in huge financial trouble.

But as for Gran Turismo I would like it to be released on the PS4 and for them just to support GT5 with small updates such as improved sound, physics and other miscellaneous improvements.
However what I see them doing is releasing a small demo/prologue of GT6 onto the PS3, which would not only help them financially, but would be a good incentive for people to buy their new console.

Jack Tretton has said they will release the best not the first from what I remember.

It would be silly to drop support for an already established install base.
Actually in an ideal world I bet all console manufacturers would be happy never having to upgrade the hardware at all. Major headache and cash sink involved.
It's us consumers and the need to keep ahead of your competitors that brings us new hardware.

Manufacturing costs of Xbox's,PS 3's and even Wii's must be the lowest ever in there history.
They must hate having to bring new hardware lol.

All console manufacturers strategy is to target the 50/50 guys.
A lot of sales of respective consoles are theoretically done and dusted. Some have already made there mind up due to brand loyalty/confidence. So really the fight between the big guns is for those on the fence.

Um I went into a bit of a ramble there. Can't remember what I was replying too. Lol.

I've deside GT6 should be on the PS4. Why? Well, it needs LOTS of improvements. So I given up on GT6 being the PS3, it's pointless... Not that I care. I just want realistic sounds, better physics and a better course maker in the game.

If GT6 fails again I'm going to be MAD! I don't care about GT6 anyway so I won't care for it, even if it releases in 2016/18. :sly:
