+2 I love his reviews, they're silly mostly and therefore original. Why am I looking forward to his review of GT5? Because he IS truly a GT fan, you can tell and he mentiones that his favourite video game series is GT from time to time also in other reviews.
Point is, his review is probabely the only one I am really interested in/will be entertained by.
Good to see that there are other Classic Game Room fans here! :D I don't take any reviews as gospel, but the CGR ones are the funniest to watch. :dopey:

hey everybody brand new member, but ive been lurking around the site for about a week now, I understand the rules and will try my best not to bend/break them! (curseing/vulgarity/negativity ill leave out as best I can)

Anywhooo, I was thinking, I have looked at nearly all of the demo vids on you tube from best buy etc. I first have to say that it looks incredible, however my question to forum members is, (since I havnt seen the question been posed yet)

Will you be able to close off the extras in the screen to admire the full beauty, things like position, speedo, tacho, map . But still show how far behind/ahead you are to you're opponent when it pops up. Also it will show you're lap time. I believe this will give the ultimate simulation imo! I would love it that function was there and I dont belive it would be to difficult for 'Kaz' to implament? what do you guys think?

I imagine in GT5 there will be options about taking somethings away and simplifying, but there hasn't been much say in it. There was an option to change the size of the track layout in the corner in the GT5 Time Trial demo, so I think there will be options for everything else too

Welcome to GT Planet. :)

But regarding your question, that has been one of the most requested things for GT5. However, we have not heard any confirmation of a "customizable hud" as I think it's usually called. Maybe another member here has some info though. 👍

It looks like Play UK magazine is going to have a hands on of GT5:

in the link says it will be out on 30th Sept.

That is GREAT news. Possebilities are they have the demo from New York with the new tracks, or an even newer one, which would be awesome, can't wait.

(Altough I know there is not much to expect from magazines-lesson learned several times now already haha)

Now that the game has passed the ESRB, Review copies should soon be on the way to reviewers.

With PD working till the last minute, I will really be surprised if we learn any thing new from this review (I'm thinking it's more of TGS hands on, then the final product). I would expect the earliest reviews of the full game would be sometime later into October. But yes, scan, scan. :)

There was a discussion several pages back about 'real world' credits, then Famine pointed out dependant upon the country you lived made a difference to whether you got shafted with the price if the cars or not. It was hard to argue with this.

But credits for winning or placing in races/championships may actually need revision this time around...

For one there is now 16 cars to the track so prize money goes down to 6th? 8th? even further?

What about points towards the championship? How will these be structured?

Now we have dynamic weather for longer events or even more variability in 'static' weather for some races we're going to have to equip our cars with multiple tyre options... will prize money increase for this now needed allowance? If you don't have the tyres will it lets you purchase them there and then or... what? Race on rain with slicks? Bad luck?

The devil is often in the detail... but bring it on...

I would assume that rain tires will be required for the inclement weather races and for endurance races. So, if you don't have them you won't be able to race in a race if it's raining. And it would also appear that snow tires are coming back. And any car you use will have to have them. :)

Found a image while using stumbleupon.com which I thought was intersting. It is a part of a series of photos of a Ferrari Concept car called 612 GTO.
I dont know if this car has been spotted or comfirmed for GT5 before so I thought I´d see what you think.Maybe this car is old news, sorry if that is the case.

Im not crazy am I? This must be from GT5
The rest of the photos : http://www.beautifullife.info/automotive-design/ferrari-612-gto-concept/

it's not from gran turismo, is a concept render with a gran turismo 5 background, 2 bad is not a real car or a gran turismo car, it looks great!

look at the trees on the reflection, they are not the same from the background!

I love all cars in NFS2...It's most inspirational racing game (and NFS) ever!Hope some of it's cars will be in GT5. 👍
(sorry for off-topic)

While I've had fun with the earlier NFS games including NFS2, I wouldn't apply the word inspirational to any of them. Well, maybe Porsche Unleashed.
