GTHD was supposed to be GT5, but it was scrapped 'cause people didn't like the whole "micro purchases" idea. But yeah, usually, PD starts from scratch when making a new title. There has only been two times when they've not built the next game from scratch: GT2 was based on the GT1 engine and GT6 will be heavily based on GT5 and will use it's engine and it's premium cars. (it's sounds like GT6 will not have ANY Standard cars as they're in GT5 simply to have a variety and the premium cars are a taste of what's to come. I would assume that GT6 might feature over 1000 "Premium" level cars...maybe.)

I hope GT6 has all cars as premium, but I don't think that will happen until PS4.

Effectively GTHD turned into Prologue. People don't realize that Prologue was just an updated GT4 engine in HD.

Actually, quite the opposite. Everything in GT5P was built from scratch and would be the beginning stages of everything "premium" in GT5.

On the other hand, GT4/GTHD cars and tracks are being upscaled to PS3 standards and are the "standard" components of the game.

Its not quite that clear cut, but you get the idea.

I'm not talking about cars and tracks. I'm talking about the entire game engine.

Exactly and your still wrong GT5P had a new engine.

No it didn't. It was the modified physics engine from GTHD which was a modified physics engine from GT4. Prologue was a slapped together game to give fans of the series something to do while we waited for the full game. GT5 is a completely different physics engine from Prologue.

Err no...same engine, updated physics (suspension and tire physics mostly).

No, it wasn't. As I said, Kaz stated they threw out the old code and started from square one with Prologue since it was a completely new game. Why do you just assume GT5 is different from GT5P but GT5P is the same as GTHD... None of the physics models are similar at all, especially GTHD's compared to GT5P.

I added two columns for weather effects and night/day cycle. Did I miss something?

^ Yup, the Toscana does have day/night cycle, its on GT5D! ;)

Oh, how could I forget that?
I've also corrected another error, it's High Speed Ring that has got rain, not Suzuka (as reported from the Times Square event).
By the way, Autumn Ring has been confirmed too.
Also confirmed Eiger long/short/east/west (maybe there are other variations too):

I wouldn't say that Autumn Ring has been confirmed just because someone says that they saw it. I would imagine that this person is telling the truth, but I still wouldn't classify it as confirmed.

Yeah, it's worth noting that the guy that mentioned Autumn Ring also mentioned that only the CR-Z was playable while it's been confirmed that the SLS AMG is also playable there.

Then I'll consider it temporarily confirmed, if by a few days there will be no videos of it, I'll put it back to the "GT4/PSP" color code.

-> I'm sadded that the GT4-spec 'New' Autumn Ring Mini made it in GT5, not the '90s (GT1/GT2 version). :(

Guys, take a look at this image, which I've just posted on the blog (click on it at the link above to view it full size). Isn't that two versions of Autumn Ring on the right there, with the logo?

A new "Cape Ring" with a full and south variation is confirmed. Then there's another unnamed one.
I don't think the duplicate autumn ring is a reverse version, though. There should be more differences. Other original tracks don't have reverse versions.

If people remember me from WRS they will know how happy i am with this.

It's Autumn Ring!!!

Best news in a while. Everytime i heard the words "60 tracks", i had fear that AR might not make the cut. I'm glad it did, and looks like we got a variation (the loop before T3 looks different in one of the screens).

-> Hmm, it may be Autumn Ring Mini *North* as opposed to the regular ARM *South*. But I don't know... :indiff:

Wish the picture resolution was better, but to me it appears to be a new track. But this is good news, wasn't expecting any thing major until closer to release. :)

So autumn ring and cape ring to add to the nurburgring and high speed ring.Hope someone there noticed the new tracks and took a video they look premium.
