Obviously we were all blown away by the E3 video, but there are a few places where your brain isn't fooled into thinking it's not real and it's a computer game.

After some careful analysis, I think one aspect is the mud flaps on the rally cars - they just aren't right. They either appear in the completely wrong palce or look like they have been slapped on.

There are also places where the cars look stuck on (eg. the red bull rally car), you can see this from the first screen shot also.

I hope they fix this!

theres nothing wrong with the wrx, but the suzuki's flaps look a bit weird, but that whole image is a bit distorted

First picture looks proper iffy, but the second one looks fine to me. The reason (I think), the second one looks odd is because it has not been dirtied as much as the surrounding areas, so it looks a little out of place.

I don't think that PD have done any calculations on how dirt builds up on joints (ie the bolts in that picture), or sections that join together. I remember someone (Moglet I think), mentioning that it looked like PD was calculating how each panel got dirty separately, or something like that. It certainly looks that way in the second shot. 👍

you're being a bit nit-picky arent you? find me another game which has perfected graphics to that extent.. plus both of those shots a normal person wouldnt notice with the naked eye without watching the vid frame by frame. the first pic is a bit distorted too.

If you really had to whine about such a small thing you could have done it HERE.

Also, I really don't find anything wrong about those mud flaps.

Hey, I'm not being picky - it's just your sub concious picks up something is wrong, so the video doesn't appear real - and I think this may be it. I think if they can fool my wife into thinking it's real they have made it!

The rear mudflap appears in the middle of the car rather than by the back wheel - so ther is somekind of bug.

I personally wouldn't care about details like this so long as your brain doesn't pick up these anormalities.

If you happened to have GT4, run one of the rally cars (most of them have mudflaps) and if what I see in GT4 is an indication of what will be in GT5, then there's really nothing to worry about.

I agree that the flaps on the second shot are iffy....but with so many good things coming from GT5, I find it hard to pick up such small points. The trailer featured real gameplay and I don't think they are going to modify it just so the mud flaps are better.

I agree with you. In the prologue there was a kind of a problem with some shadows of the car on the track and in the in-car-cam. But still, it's the best looking racing game there is. And those mudflaps... even when you say it's wrong, I still don't see any wrong things... 💡

The bug is the limit of your knowledge about the cars. The mudflaps in the middle of the car are there to stop the front wheels from hurling debris into the rear tires/brakes. They are there on the real cars.

I understand your point - I guess - but really, I don't think this merited its own thread.
