GT5 Online Error

Hi guys/gals!

Got a problem with my JPN GT5 game, ive been playing it fine for a few days but now i have a error message showing, and i am unable to use any of the onli features.

My first problem is, i dont know what the error message says

Could someone tell me what it says ( i assume it says "Connection Error" or something along those lines)

Another thing i thought of is maybe i need an update? If so, how?


Also, i would like hear any comments on what i could do to get it working again.... Ive gone through all the Router side of things.

All my other games work online perfect.

A) What you have is the Asia version.

B) The error message is in Chinese and said "Cannot connect to server"

C) Is this a "legal" version? If so, try bypass your router and plug it directly into your modem. If this is not a legal version, then I have no comment.

hmmm, well i paid for it... I downloaded it from the JPN, Is this Illegal? Sure hope not

How do you pay for it?

It is not Illegal to DL it from outside Japan. You said you DL it from the "JPN" PSN store; What you have is clearly an Asia version. Unless you downloaded an "Asia" version of the game from the "Japan" PSN store......which I think is impossible.

Do you have a Japanese Mastercard? It is not illegal to DL from PSN network, as many many members here did. However, you can NEVER pay for it thru the Japan PSN store with a foreign credit card.

So you said you buy the game on the Japanese PSN store by paying with your creditcard?

My mistake, just checked now.. Its the Asia playstation (PS customer Service address is Hong Kong)

So its just a problem with the router? Strange how it worked for a few days...

It could be your router or the server is really down.

Game version aside, I still can't see how you can pay for this game thru a non UK PSN store with a UK Mastercard.

Wouldnt it be like me going to Hong Kong and buying something, or buying something over the internet? I dont think my Visa would work there either

No body will expect it to work, cause it won't. Personally, I think you are lying and is not well informed enough to tell a convincing lie.

You are 99% sharing the DL game with someone and now you encounter a problem. I am no expert in PSN game sharing, so I don't know what would happen if 5 of you trying to play GT5P online with the exact same PSN account all at once.

I can assure you i am not sharing my downloaded games....The cost of the games means its not worth the hastle. Not nice to be called a lier....

Im sure someone on here is from the UK and bought the game.

First of all i have the disc version

Now i was goiong to try and DL it from the JPN store on release day but after trolling throgh many a website
the vast majority gave the same information :
That being if you add more than a certain amount to your online wallet in one go ( the amount being a fair way shor tof the price of GT5P) Sony would check the home address against the credit card billing address .

Me thought MMMM want the game but not worth the possibility of getting done for creditcard fraud.

hence i brought the disc version
It arrived new years eve

There is no need to use a credit card for downloading from JPN store:

Just get a "Network Ticket" for Japan from eBay:
