Hi all,

Went online last night with and tried a course or two, honestly is this the way online always is? was like playing dodgem cars. Everybody was smashing into everybody, managed to get myself into second place racing clean and was battered down to nearly last by the end of the race, appears to be no penatly's what so ever for drivers who use you as a driving aid.

Done a time trial and noticed i was eight seconds behind the online record, tried to better my time and managed to knock maybe half a second of my time. Decided to download the online record ghost to see how it was done, was pretty shocked to see the record was held by someone who just held the rumble strips constantly and looked like he was of the track most of the time. Far as i'm concerned i wouldn't even try and break that record, that's not what i'd consider racing. All the racing records like that?

Offline i'm just getting through C class, having a hardish time with a couple of the events.

Suzuki cappaccino* lap time, just keep missing it by a second or less, really tricky one that.

The one where you have the integra type r, another sneaky one, however i think i'll get through that one.

Another tricky one is the eiger backwards, can only finish third in that event.

All in all i'm liking the game and was going to buy the DFGT on friday, but was really looking forward to the online portion of the game, bit dissapointed with that. I'm also not really sure what are differences between the options, what tyres are best, standard physics/pro physics, what should i set traction control at? any help appreciated.

Unfortunately some people do like to race unfairly but if you look in the race events thread there are certain times to go in the races where you will meet fair racers.
Regarding the options.Go with pro physics, standard is just not realistic and nowhere near as fun as pro. Most of us on here play on pro and with no TC and ABS on 1.
N tyres= normal tyres=low grip
S tyres= sports tyres=medium grip
R tyres= racing tyres=high grip

I hope this helps, if not I,m sure someone else can maybe explain it better.

Welcome to GTPlanet 👍

Yes and No. Use the search button found at the top of the screen. You will find this question answered alot. It can be common when racing beginner races (which by the sounds of it you where). There are more punters in the lower rank online events. Youll find punters in all the ranks though. If you race at GTP times then this limits the punting chance.

What do you mean by rumble strips? If you mean just touching the curbs and using all the allowed area, there is nothing wrong with that. If you mean bouncing of the walls and wall riding (found at HSR and Eigar) then, yes it cheating. 99% of the time trails in professional are done without cheating and the times are honest.

Switch to professional, get the classes done and race online with GTP members is my advice. Online is a massive addition to GT series and is brillient. It may take time to get use to the game and get up to speed with professional but its worth it 👍

Will give it a go with the pro physics and see how i get on. Will post shortly regarding the time trial i mentioned, what track etc... just didn't look right to me, thanks for the help though.

Also, quick tune feature will only appear after you finish all the Events 👍

Welcome and Goodluck!
