You're not allowed to drive more than 2.5 hours per shift maximum in Le Mans. Usually most teams will have a minimum of 3 drivers, with the night shift covered by each driver doing 4-5 "stints", or 45 minute sessions in the car (which is what an average fuel-run gives). This way, each driver can get about 3-4 hours of sleep, then a couple hours of driving, then another 3-4 hours sleep.
