Welcome to GTP. Please use appropriate capitalization in your future posts. Thanks!

The guy at the store who sold me the SE thought it was a sort of lottery system. Unfortunately it isn't, I don't have the skills or time to win this......but I'll try!

The code does not work for me here in Spain...it is not available yet.
It is really hard to win that...but my favourite track is Nurburgring...maybe i have a chance.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe can confirm that the activation of the Gran Turismo® 5 Signature Edition competition will take place in December 2010.* The activation date will be confirmed shortly.

We would like to reassure customers who have purchased the Gran Turismo 5 Signature Edition that voucher codes will remain valid and the competition, with the chance to win a Mercedes Benz SLS AMG, will still be going ahead. Satisfying the loyal Gran Turismo followers is at the heart of all of our efforts and we hope that they enjoy the wealth of driving experiences in GT5 until this exciting competition is live.

We’re pleased to reveal that the competition will be based on GT5’s ‘B-Spec Mode’, so any Signature Edition owners should be sure to start levelling up their B-Spec drivers now in preparation.

Further details will be available shortly and will also be posted on this website.

Think that will be very good news for people who have bought the Signature Edition. Apart from the B-Spec driver bit because with mine I just want to........

Well, tbh I do think they should have told this at the same time they told about the competition.

I feel fooled.

We also were not told at the time "Chrome Cars" would not be included with the "Stealth Carpack". Furthermore what about the "Dynamic Theme" my code so far only gave me the "Stealth Cars".

There are two codes.. one in the game box and one under the apex book (for me at least). I guess 1 gives the stealths and the other the chrome cars.

Yes mine to.
Though I was In such a rush I didn't notice the voucher In the game case at first.

I agree with you Timo. I have no problem with the competition being run in B-Spec but it's annoying that it wasn't specified up front. If I'd have known this key piece of information I would have left the signature edition on the shelf. Oh well, you live and learn but it's an expensive lesson. :ill:

Well said, I feel exactly same way. This competition was one of the main reasons for me to buy signature edition.
Maybe they will change the competition if we complain enough. :sly:

Yeah, a competition a la GT Academy was what I was expecting when I finally decided to make the effort for the Signature Edition... not a cold B-Spec contest!

+1

Although, I feel more robbed than fooled.

I assumed it was based on a-spec mode, and Ill take a guess that every other person who went and bought sig edition thought the same.

Petition anyone?

Very angry with this!!:grumpy:

I am sort of glad it is B spec related, even though I haven't even touched B spec it seems the competition is not based on uber driving skills which makes it much more fair (not that I don't have uber driving skills :P).

Guess I should start doing some B spec.

Well this sucks:- We’re pleased to reveal that the competition will be based on GT5’s ‘B-Spec Mode’, so any Signature Edition owners should be sure to start levelling up their B-Spec drivers now in preparation.

I was under the impression that you simply needed a signature edition code to have the chance to win the car..not have B-Spec races etc etc...

Some people may not have the skill or whatever in B-spec......not a fair competition if you ask me...and a very misleading lead up!!!!

This is just..dumb. But, I would guess an actual track time set by the individual would be needed at a later time? If B Spec is used for the entire competition, well, that would suck.

I have to admit when I heard it was B-Spec mode which the competition was based on I was actually relieved. I wouldn't be sitting there wondering if my ticket were chosen to be the winner out of a whole planet's worth of tickets.
I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea if a whole team of B-Spec drivers are required for this competition or just a single driver going head to head with other B-Spec drivers. I would love to know that detail so i can start training up my other guys.

Basing the competition on b-spec is ridiculous.

They announced at the end of november, in relation to the competition, that players should start leveling up their b-spec drivers.

To say its fair is a joke.

My example, I work, have a life etc.... I played gt5 on thursday, and wont have another chance to play untill tonight. Thats 5 days away from it, while someone somewhere no doubt, has been playing it every night, probably concentrating on b-spec for this competition.

How is that a fair chance for everyone?

Im far from the best driver out there, but basing it on "driving skills" is far more fair than basing it on someone who has more time to watch a computer driving around a track.

Also, the game is sold as "the real driving simulator".

From what we know so far, this first round isnt based on any sort of real driving simulation.
