Hey boys, worked three straight days, in the summer sun, long hours, today I'm back... tired... gonna get me a burrito but maybe some testing this afternoon?

Chris

i'm awake these hours:
Code:
UTC 2000 ↔ 1400
BST 2100 ↔ 1500
JST 0500 ↔ 2300
EDT 1600 ↔ 1000
PDT 1300 ↔ 0700
NZST 0800 ↔ 0200

I think Saturday or Sunday is good for me. Anytime 6am-12pm PST.

Chris

Ditto, although I have one last GT4 Cup race this Saturday morning. So if we run this weekend, it would have to be after 10:30am PST. Starting next weekend I can pretty much do anytime during the weekend, except after 6pm PST on Sundays.

I guess it's daylight time, so PDT, but I'm still good for those times. What do we say 14:00 (2:00pm) PDT on Saturday?

Chris

Oh duh, I forgot and was simply going off of R1600, barf and my available times. So maybe 4:00pm PDT?

Chris

Hate to be a pest, so pardon me for doing so, but just a heads up you might want to watch the double and triple posting. Highly frowned upon. 👍

I can't make it again, unfortunately. I might have to give up my spot.

Two more days. Spots are open for sign ups, as it appears not everyone has remembered they signed up.

I won't be able to do this race, I'll be in a trip to Vegas so I'll miss this weekend race. Good luck to everyone.

God bless man, enjoy Vegas!

Will be opening a room for Friday Practice. Will be called "Grand Valley 300km FP".

Chris

EDIT: Room is now closed.

Looking forward to kicking the season off.

BTW, are there any rules I have to follow in passing lower class traffic? Flash of the headlights and make a safe pass good enough?

I need to know what time the race will be in UTC. I should be able to make it from any time up to 20:30 UTC tonight.

Pretty much this, or it can be said for lower class traffic to give way with a GT-R bearing down. ;)

C-ZETA, I think it's going to start an hour after your best time. :(

Also remember, not too late to sign up. Let's get more than a five-car grid out there.

I think I'll be firing up the PS3 in a moment for some morning warm-up if anyone's around.

The rule with the ST1 cars overtaking us confuses me. Obviously we won't defend our position or make it difficult to overtake by say, attempting to be the last of the late brakers into a corner, but do we go off line for him? Say we're coming out of the final corner and the ST1 car will reach my bumper on the start finish line, do I deliberately go off line to let him maintain his trajectory for turn one? Or if we're in the middle of that sweeper in the tunnel and an ST1 car comes up our back bumper will he be charging and expecting me to go off line, mid-corner to let him past?

I think if we treat it like a pass for position, where it is on the overtaking car to go off line and make the clean pass, that makes it easier and less erratic for everyone. Obviously, if I'm leading ST4 (highly unlikely btw) and the last placed ST1 car is coming, even if I'm battling for position I'm not going to block him... he'll have the speed advantage anyways. I guess the concern would be don't try your Joey Hand impersonations on the brakes so the ST1 cars don't have the opportunity to make a textbook pass on the inside into a corner.

Just follow this guidelines and you'll be good:

GRAND VALLEY GT 300 KM
16:00 PDT UT-7:00

Official thread coming soon!

4:00pm Pacific Daylight Time
5:00pm Mountain Daylight Time
6:00pm Central Daylight Time
7:00pm Eastern Daylight Time

And if my maths aren't horrendous I believe that is midnight London time? (Perhaps for race two we'll go an hour earlier for the sake of any English we have in the championship.)

Also the 7:00UT is 7:00am in Japan/New Zealand/Australia?

It will be 8 AM in Japan, NZ/Aus not sure.

We need more people though, I've just received another confirmed no.

Date: 16.7.2011 (1600 PDT)
Grand Valley Speedway
Length: 60 Laps
Classes ST1-ST4

That's me out then. I'm not staying up till midnight to do any race, much less an endurance. Count me out of the whole championship if that time stays the same for all the races in this whole championship.
