I've just been investigating crashes found by some users - This seems to be related to having either no GT5Tuner folder on the SD card, or no SD card available.

Please bear with me and I'll get this fixed.

I have tried hard to make this app work on all types of Android phones - From the smallest handset up to the latest tablets. There are just too many screen types and too many versions of Android to deal with. The app already contains five separate versions of each screen you see, one for each variant of screen size. Some work on one version of Android but not on another and so I am withdrawing the app until further notice.

The eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed the app has returned to the Google Play store, along with some added features.

If you have multiple devices, you may find this feature useful: In 'Settings', switch on the option to copy the most recent car database and tune database to/from the SD card. Everytime you make a change to either of these files, they are then copied to the GT5Tuner folder on your SD card. You can then use any method you like to synchronise this folder across your devices. Personally, I use DropSync on my phone to sync the entire folder to my DropBox account.

I've also move the 'parts' screen so that it now belongs to the tune and not the car. There are also added fields in the 'Misc' screen for PP, Tyres and Engine Limiter.

One other feature which may have slipped unnoticed is the tune import/export feature. Everytime you load or save a tune, it gets copied to the clipboard on your phone. You can then switch to your web browser or email client and paste the tune. Likewise, you can copy a tune that some one has posted on a forum or emailed to you, then choose the import option from the File menu in the Tune screen. The app will then attempt to import the tune - It may not get it right so experimentation is required.

I've been using your App for quite some time and its helped me win the entire FF 430 PP Challenge :)

I'm just wondering why when I load cars from the files the HP, weight and torque values are way off from the stock car? Most of the time I noticed those values are when the car is decked out.

That's excellent to hear that the app works well for you and I'm sure oppositelock will be delighted to know that his quicktune calculations helped you so much.

All the car data in the downloadable car sets was kindly sourced from Rabidmaggot. For quite a few of the cars, it does seem the values are from tuned cars and not cars straight from the dealerships.

Works on HTC One X

:tup:Excellent - Thank you for letting me know.

RDAardvark, this apps also work on an Cyanogenmod 6 HTC HD2. Cheers!

This is reassuring - Some users are reporting, via a 1 star review on Google Play, that the app doesn't work on the HTC Desire HD. I was wondering if they were using a custom ROM. Thanks for passing this on to me.👍

Very glad to see this app is available again. The changes and improvements are fantastic!!! Thanks for the update and for not giving up on this excellent app.

Works flawlessly on:

- Samsung Galaxy SII with ICS
- Creative ZiiO 10 with Gingerbread
- HipStreet Nova 7" with Gingerbread

Thansk again and keep up the great efforts.

This works on Motorola Droid X2 no problem

The only problem I've got so far is when tuning an AWD car (550PP Gallardo) the app suggested 22/78 torque distribution... I'm not sure if I should do 25/75 or 20/80

well it works on the LG e510 and its a very handy app y loved it where can i get the apk version of so i can stre it on mi sd card for further app back ups?

Just to let you all know that I have withdrawn the app from Google Play Store.
I feel there were just too many negative reviews and problems with the app.

At the moment I have no time, nor the inclination, to do any further work on the app.

If you already have it installed, then please carry on using it.

just my luck lol, updated my rom on my captivate and find out that the app has been pulled :( any chance anyone has a backup of it handy? or know of another download location that i may have overlooked.

Really miss having this app and all the others ive tried fail in comparison to this one.

The App is back on Google Play and has been updated:
- I've attempted to fix a bug where the app crashes on start up. This seems to be a problem with the code that copies data files from the SD card.
- I've removed the prompt about visiting the charity page as not one person (from over 1500 of you) used it.

Currently sitting at approx 18,500 downloads, with around 1000 users on the latest versions.

Nice work RDAardvark...

Something I have noticed is the mapping for some of the cars for the Transmission speed from the .set files might be off. As each time I loaded in a number of cars from the .set it says; "Please check the Transmission value."

No biggie as just need to set it myself but thought would let you know.

The data in the car sets was extracted from 400+ spreadsheets which GTPlanet member RabbidMaggot very kindly donated to the forum. These spreadsheets were various versions of Oppositelock's Quick Tune spreadsheet. Some spreadsheets are missing transmission values, some are missing the engine position. When I extracted the data, there was no easy way to insert the missing values, so they remain missing. If you find them out yourself, don't forget to save the updated car.

Very gallant effort, but it is a bit difficult for this guy to use.

Tried using it to make a 'quicktune' for my Lancer Evo Super Rally Car '03, no dice :(.

Wanted to have fully lowered suspension, and maximum downforce, and I couldn't get the quick tune to work with those parameters, instead of -50/-50 it gave me -7/-7 (or -7/-8 on T2).

Fantastic idea, isn't working for me yet.

I wrote the formulas, the output is just a baseline, you can use whatever final settings you want. If you're trying to "force" it to spit out settings you've already decided on then obviously it's not going to work. Ride height is calculated based on a percentage of total allowable range, and since a rally car has an extremely large range you're not going to get a "slammed" output. In fact, you'll never get a completely lowered result on any car. As far as downforce goes, the output should always be maximum front downforce with rear downforce calculated based on how oversteer prone the vehicle is. The Evo is nose heavy and all wheel drive, therefore understeer biased, meaning very little rear downforce is required for a circuit tune. Everything is the way it is for a reason, but that doesn't mean it's set in stone.

Well, then I take reservation with the calculations.

I'm far from an expert tuner, but several of the credible tuners on here use the full extent of the suspension lowering available to them, in order to achieve maximum downforce, and I have driven cars like that (from tuners), that worked.

Anyway, I'll put in a request for this car, maybe, I decided to use a different car for the TT I wanted too anyway.

RDAardvark - just found this on the app store.

Downloaded and running fine on my cheepo import tablet ;)

oppositelock - I have seen your sheets before and some interesting / surprising results

Will test a few cars and see what I think :)

HI, just downloaded the app and also the car sets. Only snag I'm having is how do I get the app to see the car sets as they are not csv files. Must be me being stupid but I can't figure it out. Any help is greatly appreciated.

All you need to do is extract all the '.set' files to the 'GT5Tuner' folder on the SD card of your device. The app will then automatically detect this and show the car sets in the load and save dialogs.

Cheers for the fast reply 👍 It was my stupidity. After the files were in place I was using the import/export option instead of the File / Load Car option. We live and learn.
:dunce:

Cheers......Mad Jock
