The same car, two different games. The Nissan 370Z GT Academy Edition is the car. Yes, one is orange and the other blue, but it's close enough! :)

The first screenshot is from GT5, the second from GT6. Notice anything different?

You seriously don't expect a graphic improvement? Graphics are already great, other than the standards and track details (which this last doesn't matter).

Looking at the trailer, the graphics haven't really improved. But that's not a bad thing. Other parts of the game have probably been given more attention because the limit has been reached with the PS3 graphics-wise. And I'm okay with that. :)

An on-track screenshot will probably look just the same.

-The shading on GT6's 370z looks significantly better, the metallic paint very obvious, rather thane everything having a glaring shine, regardless of paint type.

-Look at the rear fender of GT5's and GT6's 370Z. The lighting has significantly improved!

-The interior, compared to GT5, is significantly better and slightly more distinguished.

-Overall, the lines and creases, when compared to GT5's 370z, looks a lot less jagged and more smoother.

My only problem is that this is somewhat subtle, we need more pictures to work with, in-game footage and screenshots.

From what I've seen from the gameplay pictures the shadows seems to be smooth and the mirror images are no longer jagged (in GT5 you have a low-resolution image in the mirrors, in the demo at least the mirror images were smooth).

You can find some gameplay pictures here: https://twitter.com/gianrocco

Exactly. Graphically the "premium" cars in GT5 already look incredible. Since its still on the PS3 there will not be much of an improvement graphically for the premiums. Now if they apply this attention to detail to ALL the cars in GT6 I will be impressed. Meaning they all need to be premium.

Once this series jumps to the next console then everything will look even better.

GT5 has to be the best looking racing game inspite of issues. They will just fix those issues with GT5 and improve it little bit. The best just got better :)

All I see is a car that's closer! In these scenarios no one does it better than PD! They have stated that they have developed an engine which further extracts every last once of the the Cell! But in real-time I expect a very subtle bit of polish nothing more! There is very little more to mine! .....Wish it was on the PS4:indiff:

PS4 version will indeed by crazy with realisitc weather effect, night racing, damage and what not. But for PS3 it is not possible otherwise they would have done it. I can wait for GT on PS4

Actually there is some better polygon placement, notice in the wheel wells it's much smoother in GT6 than in GT5. I spend a lot of time looking at curved edges and some cars tend to have a bit less than smooth curves around the wells and round headlights. The reflective mapping looks cleaner as well, which is a good thing although in one of the photos the interior looked like it came straight out of FM4 all plastic looking, think it was the interior of the Alpine it looked really flat compared to GT5 interiors. Either way GT6 is shaping up to be an absolute treat, next up is depth of tuning and if we can do engine swaps between models of manufacturers.
Note anyone notice that there are like 18+ spoilers in GT6 and 21+ wheels, I wonder how many more they intend to add?

Not much different. I wouldn't expect much better graphics out of the same hardware. Just slight improvements. I would be super disappointed if they were to release GT6 on PS4 and try and pass the image off as an improvement.

Forget the Premiums. What we need to compare are the tracks as they are the more inconsistent of the bunch in GT5. Premiums already looks great and don't need improvements.

Well, if this is in game the shadows seem to be fixed, but then again the shadows should be fixed anyway. I wouldn't compare premiums because GT5's premiums wouldn't even look better on a PS4, they're already perfect on the outside.

Higher res pictures would be a lot better. It's hard to tell the quality when they have been smooshed down so much.

In photomode, yes, but you need to remember the cars in GT5 scale. The photomode is higher quality than the in race variant. The next step is to get photomode, or closer to it, on track and that will be the PS4's leap.

you cant improve something that is already perfect ..

On the ps4 models would look like they do in photomode, which is noticeably better than while racing. Also GT5-GT6 models aren't the best in the business, which is something that is claimed by PC sims (iracing, pcars) and could be rivaled by drive club.
edit: and forza4's 26 autovista cars, only in autovista (not while racing).

Still, it amazes me how good GT5 looks and GT6 will look compared to other racing games on the ps3. I don't know how they do it. People that criticize GT5's graphics should really spend some minutes browsing the photomode subforum, specially the threads about details.

I like the softer shadows. Hopefully those are easier on the system and result in fewer jaggies.

Anyone notice those lap times on the screen shots? There's no way the Nissan Z or GTR are doing 1:12s and 1:13s on the full Silverstone circuit! This just proves a different layout was being ran!
