Are the breaks glowing red at the end?

That Autumn Ring picture, the sky looks like a sky that features weather with that really bright, light blue color with few clouds.

Leaves are cool and all, but... it looks they got rid of the grass particle effect. Is it too much to ask for both? :(

I think we won't see that many leaves in races, only in replays or similar.

You're right with the grass, but maybe that's because the season seems to be different?
Although the grass particels don't appear, you can see the dirt better. So possibly it's just a design relevant decision? We'll probably still see grass particels on other tracks.

It looks like the mud covers (is that what they are called?) in the X-bow shake according to the movement of the wheels. That's very cool.

Looking at the trailer, the graphics haven't really improved. But that's not a bad thing. Other parts of the game have probably been given more attention because the limit has been reached with the PS3 graphics-wise. And I'm okay with that. :)

An on-track screenshot will probably look just the same.

Idk it looks better to me. Not a huge jump but the tracks/environments look better. That one photo of the GTR on the grass with all the leaves is something they didn't have in GT5.

I really, really hope they did fix the shadow and smoke pixelization from GT5. Either way PD, take my money, NOW!!!:dopey:

I am thinking one thing after all the hype from yesterday...about the cars, and details overall I think that the Alpine and the Lamborghini Countach are still "standard" models but with certain parts re-modelled from the same part. Like upgraded but not re-modelled.

I mean what I´m trying to say is that these are not cars made from scratch at 100%, if you look at some comparisons between the GT5 standard versions with the cars. Not just by the obvious fact that both are the same car. lol

Jordan said yesterday that referring to "standard" cars "is mostly good news".

But I am not an expert if they can use old models and just re-texture them and add materials and such as well and corrections to it. Since I play rFactor and there are lots of mods and conversions from other cars...or F1 cars with some changes in the body...it can be possible.

All standards looking close enough to the premiums sounds better. Ditch the words "standard" and Premiums" and the overall "feeling" of the game will be better.

Fixed jaggies would be greatly appreciated...
One question though I have not seen asked/answered, will this title support 3D?

I'm not sure you're really looking at the details as you can see how much a difference has been made. The proportions are slightly different, more noticeable on the Alpine, and there are more curves where they were briefly represented or not represented at all originally. I wouldn't say they're worked from scratch either, but they were surely remodeled.

I'm with Downhill Dino. I've speculated for a while that PD could take these basic models, rework the wireframes into precision shape, then re-skin and texture them and save a lot of modeling time, except for the interiors. It may well be that this is what the modeling team has been spending a lot of time on over the past two years, because my 100-plus track count guess was wrong.

Not sure if anyone has already noted how well behaved those leaves are in the pics being bandied around. Looks like they listened when Mamma Leaf told them to stay off the road.

Yes. Yes, I do. Otherwise, why go to the effort of building a new rendering engine?

A more efficient rendering engine could free off system resources for more visual effects, more cars on track, better FPS etc. All without making any of the individual cars look better then the previous engine. The PS3 is seriously RAM limited and some of the features mentioned could be being utilised to save some RAM so that it can be utilised for more gameplay additions rather then visual.
