GT5 vs. Real Life E92 M3 on the Ring

Thanks for providing the answers, Darkpitiless.

That makes the comparison to real-life even more impressive. I did a similar comparison myself with my own times around Top Gear track, and found in game I was a few seconds faster (which I know I would be in real-life also, given I've had more track time since). The time difference made me wonder how "true" GT5 is to RL, but this video shows just how close they actually are.

Yes, I know, I just wish it was all there. :)

But is it really such a big deal that it warrants a post like: "Ah that's what I feared What a terrible shame. "

As shown in the video comparison the Nordschleife in GT5 is more or less, turn by turn, an exact copy of the real thing. Isn't that something to applaud instead of complaining about the absence of profane graffiti written on the track?

You are of course entitled to your opinion but would you prefer the track to be "not really much like the Nordschleife at all" but with every swearword in its correct position? I'm sure you don't.

Lastly, there will be many many minors playing this game and I really, honestly, see no point in adding in unnecessary profanity in the game just because. And believe you me, I'm no saint.

Since you're not only Canadian, but from here, how much did it run you, and how long did you stay?

Hey, sorry for the super delayed response.

The laps at the ring back then were around 60 Euros for 5 laps, the current rates are 75 Euros for 4 laps. I rented the TT through Sixt; never bothered to ask if it was OK to take on the 'ring, but I didn't see anything in the fine print either :sly:

Flew into Frankfurt and picked up the car there. Drove straight from there to the 'ring and took a few laps. Since it was day one of a 3 week driving trip, I didn't want to lap any more than that as I would have just started to push and bad things could have happened :scared:

My cousin was living not too far from the 'ring at the time, so spent the night at his place afterward. Then we headed off to Paris to continue our European road trip 👍

The car was 900 Euros for 3 weeks, so although it wasn't the best car for the 'ring, it was a good deal for the whole trip.

Thank you!

I've got a drive across Canada planned out for this Summer, and I'm thinking of the 'ring in 2012. If I can come into some money before then, I'd do them both in 2011 :).
