Hey guys I am sad to say that I may never be into the GT games as much as I was in the past. This game is just the opposite of everything that I loved about this game.

My dream is that they just take GT4 add new graphics, leave the physics alone, add more cars but leave the old ones too and then sell that game instead of this crappy GT5P.

I don't even care about playing online because people cheat and ruin that aspect of the game anyway but I just can't sit in front of the TV and play this game for more than 10 minutes now. I used to pull all nighters with GT4 and call in sick the next day just beacuase I was playing and practicing to improve my driving skills.

This game is atrocious and just doesn't appeal to my soul the way that the others did.

-Peace

Hey! How are you??... I understand your frustration... Have you ever looked into joining the races they have going on here in the "Race Events" sub-forum? If you do get a chance to join these races you will have GOOD, CLEAN racing for sure... There's time schedules there that you can follow and join in the races... At the moment its very quiet on GT5:P... The only thing keeping it alive for me is the numerous custom events that are available through GTP... We just have to wait for GT5 to be released... Because I can assure you when it DOES finally come out you'll be pulling those all nighters like you use too... I know I will :D and as for the physics I think they have improved quite a bit since GT4... especially because they added professional physics now 👍

I can understand why you feel this way, and its a mistake that many people are making.

GT5P is not a sequel to GT4. GT5P is an introduction to GT5 which will be coming out later this year *hopefully*, GT5 will resemble much of what you liked about GT4 with more depth, more cars and basically more fun. So many people get confused about prologue as theu think its THE GT5 however it isn't, perhaps they should have called it Gran Turismo 5 DEMO.

From what I remember the gt4 prologue was crap too so its nothing to worry about GT4 turned out good so i'm sure 5 will when it arrives, your going to get cheats in most online games, you get glithers in cod4-5, just learn to deal with it,

ps Did any of you guys see BTCC this weekend, mat neal couldnt run a GTP tag lmao, but hey if the rules allow him to overtake by punting in brake zones then good for him, it just shows how useless he is at overtaking

These constant whinging threads about GT5:P are getting to me, can't they all be locked from now on?

I pernsonally love the physics and graphics. They make it much better than GT4

EVO9Nate: If you want the GT4 physics, select standard physics instead of simulation.

If you already have standard physics, you might want to consider changing because all the skilled clean drivers use similation physics on the online racers - it's a completly different demographic.

GT series is supposed to be a simulation and standard physics aren't simulation physics. Plus it's harder to drift on standard physics. If you want to play the game like it was meant to be, stick with simulation.

I don't think that's the right attitude to take. If whine threads get to you, then don't read them, its a simple yet beautiful solution.

It would be better to find out why the whining is occurring, I think in the case of the OP, its that the OP doesn't understand what a prologue is and was expecting a full game. Instead of just locking their thread, why not explain to them why GT5P isn't a full game, perhaps inform them that the full game GT5, will be coming soon* and they should wait for that, if they want the traditional Gran Turismo game.

Well put Stev. Couldnt have said it better 👍

They still clog up the forums. Look at how many threads in the GT5 forum atm are about if you'll still buy the game if PD don't do xxxxxxx. Empty threats and constant whining, it's in your face everywhere at the moment.

Which was already done, NEXT!

Dare I call Troll?

I can't honestly believe you've been around this forum for nearly a year now and didn't know what GT5P had in it or suddenly changed your opinion.

For me GT5P is just best GT ever. Best graphics, physics - which is lot better than that in GT4, Sound is also better, but still not great. I can't imagine that you don't feel this game. For me this is an essence of GT. Menus, graphics, great modelled cars, music, replays, even sound of the cars. Everything is still in climate of GT series

I agree there are so many great racers out there and this forum has brought GTP5 alive for me you just need to find those good racing events. Which I thank the guys that take the time to organise. Thank you.

That was what GTHD was meant to be all about, but they binned the idea.

It's only a prologue to the real thing, and yes, to me it is the worst of the GT's so far. But you can't really criticize it for completely killing off the series: it's only about what will be 5% of the actual game.

This puzzles me too. I can understand some frustration over Prologue, because it is a rather small game and you can't do a lot of things with your cars that you can in GT4. Racing the same six tracks with the same favorite cars does get a little old after a time, and even a fan like me has to play something else for a while. But seriously, this is GT5 Prologue. GT4 Prologue was a tiny, puny game with hardly any content. GT5P is a gift in comparison, giving us a hefty glimpse into what's coming in the full game.

I'm gonna go race some more GT4 and Prologue both today because I've got the urge to spin some tire, and they do a darn fine job of it.

You notice a trend right?
It's always new people.
So they always have the tendency to sign up, just to tell us they are done playing.
Also.

They need to stop acting like GT5P is the full game..

Cause it's not...prologue says it all. jesus :dunce:

It's not the full game, but thanks to this forum, I'm on it everyday and enjoying the hell out of it.

I love the physics sooo much compared to GT4. I remember braking into a drift in my RX8 on the first lap of the game (it was eiger) and I thought "yep, I'm good now - they've fixed everying I wanted". In GT4, you could get in a car and do a burnout whilst keeping is straight while going round a corner - that isn't realistic at all.

I love the graphics as well. Before I got the PS3, I usually went to a friend's house who had TDU on his Xbox360 and I thought those graphics were unbeatable. Now I go over there and the graphics are rubbish. All thanks to GT5P.

Only 70 cars - Full versions of NFS struggle to have that.

No damage - If you played it how it was meant to be played, you wouldn't need damage

Limited gameplay - Well, yes, it is short and sweet. But lets not forget NFS Carbon's races counted for 2% game copletion everytime you did one.

We're always waiting - If there are going to be even half of the cars in GT4, It's going to take ages to make as you have way more polygons per car, and an interior to model....for EVERY car. You need the 92CP to be in the same detail as the Honda Z act. On top of that, you need to model at least 100 new set of wheels in high detail 3D. On top of that, you need to model all the characteristics of all the new tuning parts. On top of that, you need to remodel every track so it looks picture perfect. This means going back and redoing the Nordshliefe all over again. Then you need to do every other track, and any new track. Then you have to program a new physics engine for dirt and snow, along with all the dust and snow that flies about - and this all take research. You have to create new GUI, new everything. On top of that, you have to create the online interface with the private rooms that everyone has been hecklering you about. On top of that, you need extensive testing so wingers don't make a bajillion threads on forums like this telling us about the glitches they've found. I don't care how many people are working on it - it's going to take a very long time - more so than previous because they are still experimenting with the abilities of the PS3 and themselves.
Yes, we are waiting in the dark and alot of people are saying they'd be happy waiting if they had some facts.
Here's the only fact you need to know. GT5 is coming.

For me it not that I want a game. I just want some information to be thrilled about for having a due date a year away when the finally do release a date.

Very nice post 👍. Sometimes a lot of people forget how much work actually goes into a game, let alone a GT game, and having to redo past work, and add new features, cars and elements to all of that, and make the physics better than ever for all types of road surfaces, is a daunting task.

I hope more people begin to see it like that because there are a lot out there right now that don't seem to see it that way.

Sure, I'm just as curious or frustrated for the lack of info. There have been complaints about news for months now, and it doesn't seem like it has gotten us the news any faster has it? The news and the game will come when they decide. According to Amar, the news SHOULD BE no more than about 2 months away, if that.

Besides, wasn't a whining thread already created somewhere on these forums? Use that instead of creating another as some have already mentioned...

My dream is that they just take GT4 ... leave the physics alone

Nightmare. That would probably kill the series for me.

Anyway, it's a demo. The only thing I find inexcusable in no player created rooms. The physics need work, but it's the best the series has, and I'm able to accept that they might not have put much effort in demo physics. PD better hurry up with GT5 though. They can blame it on being perfectionists all they want, but I'd wager it's inefficiency.

I can understand your feelings I guess, but I don't see anything in Prologue that would make want to give up GT.

With the online events, I've grown to appreciate diversity, and that's why I test as many cars as possible. Tweaking the tune on each car to try and make them as equal as possible, then I pick the most balanced setup, and car that's fun to drive hard, and stick with it a while. Sometimes I'll be up front, other times I'll be struggling to keep up the rear.

Just today, I decided to test out the '05 GTi in the 550pp Fuji event. My first out I was racing with a Focus, Mini, and Integra. I was lapping in the high 1' 50s, and won by almost 10 seconds. It was a fluke though, the next time out I went up against the same Integra, and a second one, I was pretty close for 1/2 a lap, then I was struggling to keep within 5 seconds of the pair of Integras. If it hadn't been for a couple of mistakes on my part, I would have been able to keep them in sight. It was a blast all the same, as I like how the GTi drives, really predictable, and a nice enough engine sound. Next time out, I'll tweak a Mini, and see if I can best my times in the GTi.

When you get a good race online it's priceless, other times, it's a total waste of 20 minutes (I race late at night - early morning - so it can take a while to get a race).

You know what would be TOTALLY cool for GT5 (IMHO), a track editor. Maybe PD could make the X-Plane of racing sims after GT5, and let third parties, supply additional content. Sorry, rambling on again ...

All i can say is keep trying, it will grow on you! When first started the game, i didn't like driving with s tires. But now i pretty much know the limit, of the tires. And i use s tires all the time now to race with! The other thing is, they can't make the game perfect for everybody! Just my 2 cents!

I think that even the prologue is decent as a game. Great physics, wonderful feeling of speed, cars are nicely made, AI is ok though it needs improvement ,but you have to actually be a good driver to finish the races. I totally enjoyed and enjoying the prologue! Actually GT5P made me a fan of the series again...

Even if it is just a demo per say, it is HUGE!

As soon as i bought a rear wheel drive car and tried professional physics I knew it was something special. Real drifts without having to tune specifically for the car to do it.

It felt like i was manhandling the Viper round tracks not like GT4 where is was easy.

I know GT5P will keep me occupied till the full game.
