anyone knows how many GT5P were sold out until now!? and also how many ps3?

i think this might very important for the GT5 release date because it seams that Wii and 360 are up ahead on Sony.. so Sony, probably, is forcing Polyphony to put the game in the market as soon as they can to sell consoles..

what you need to understand is ... no matter what happens ...even in a recession... the highest profits for sony will be during the fall-spring period and thats where its going to be released...

-> I hope Sony doesn't rush PD to make GT5 as what they did with GT2. If they did, then glitches will be all over the place. :indiff:

^ Or with GT3, which had a decent selection of tracks and races, but very few cars.

EDIT: I just checked Wikipedia. The latest sales figures are June 2008:

2,370,000 total.

270,000 copies in Japan
610,000 in North America
1.45 million in Europe
40,000 in Southeast Asia.

Yep Europe (PAL which includes Australia) is clearly the most important, give GT5 to us first. :P

1.45 million in Europe
Wow that is very interesting, how are the sales for GT4 in europe?

GT4

1.25 million Japan
2.93 million North America
70,000 Southeast Asia
80,000 Korea
5.85 million Europe

as of June 2008

-> Looks like the game has been shifted, PD's most important market right now is in the PAL region. So that explains the GT Academy and numerous GT exclusives within that market! :dopey:

-> I think here in Americaland, people here are to fixated with Forza, PGR, MC-series, & NFS-series, like most of my friends. :indiff:

I'm not.

I fell in love with GT with GT2 and, Quite frankly, the love affair has not stopped.

GT got me into Liking cars, It got my Cousins Tiffany and Connor into Video Games, and GT2 & 3 were the only video games (other than the Original Super Mario Brothers) that my Mom will get into.:)

And, yes, I played all of those series listed above, plus more. but nothing compares to the excitement and anticipation of a New Gran Turismo game

so, yes Mr. vanishing boy, I am In the minority in America when it comes to the GT series. quite frankly, I love it TO DEATH.

I am a little surprised at the sales figures for the US. I would have thought PD would have sold more copies in the car loving US.

You had better not be lumping Canadians into this poorly written, stereotypical tripe.

Really, what an arrogant comment.

Short story from someone who's living this...

I'm disgusted with the American perception of what a good car is. Comfortable ride, spacious interior and a strong engine are all great attributes for any car. But in America, we don't even want to know when we ran over a tree. We want to be able to sleep 7 people comfortably. We want a large, pushrod V8 or something comparable... and all this in our sub-compact cars. And the less interaction with the vehicle the better (manual transmissions are laughable... for the truly unfortunate only.)

Decades of GM/Ford/Chrysler marketing cars that are pure crap has created a cultural rut that both these companies and their consumers are stuck in.

Note: said companies are on verge of collapse while Japanese and European counterparts dominate.

Even though people in the U.S. are wising up to the gimmicks and gaudiness of the domestic offerings, they're still used to what they're used to. Rolling sofa-houses. And thus, GT doesn't have the strong audience here. Soooo many people I know who "like cars" don't like GT at all or really hate it. They hate that it's too realistic, and therefore too hard. They prefer the crazy, NOS and booster-flame filled arcade racers that have no link to reality other than maybe how the cars look.

And this, I believe is due in part to the U.S. car culture and its' bass-ackward values.

Blah, that's a rant.

^ I don't know, sounds spot on to me, at least for the US. And I have a feeling that Buicks, Caddilacs and Priuses - Priui? - outnumber Beemers and 350Zs in Canadia. I guess I should feel heartened that the Infiniti G35 sells well, but... WHY? Heavier, not much roomier... just get a freaking 350Z or 370.

But... humans, go figure...

are you reading the "Principles of Marking", author: Kotler !?

i know now the GT5P sells but what about PS3? thats a determinant factor for sure.. if sony is too below comparing to the other consoles.. then, GT5 full game will arrive soon... its like KY said "sooner than you expect" :)

It's not stereotypical it's the truth and i added not eveyone in the states and i NEVER said one word about the canadians. When over half the people in the country thinks putting chrome 22inch rims on every car they can get their hands on,it's asked to be made fun of.I am not a fan of rolls or bentleys but i still think putting those stupid rims on is just so F#*#ed up and don't get me started on the lamborghini's and Ferrari's.The main reason BM's sell is that it's an image.
