No I haven't Chuckeh :odd:

Let me tell you it then.

Back in 60's Italy, bakers faced a serious problem; the price of bread ovens had inflated massively. In order to continue their profession, they bought Ferraris such as this one to bake bread in, owing to their cheapness and abundance. They were practically tripping over the things:

And that's how breadvans were born and why the Italian bread industry is alive and healthy to this day.

But weren't Ferraris expensive??? Enzo needed money, and his cars weren't cheap. Plus i'm pretty sure Drogo built that beautiful bread baker because racecar.

Nononono, it's all a lie. At the time Ferraris were cheaper than bread ovens, so it made perfect economic sense to bake with them.

O_O

I'm baffled.

This is what the internet told me:

Although the technical changes greatly improved the car's performance, it is not what the Count's GTO hybrid would become famous for. That was all due to the aerodynamic body Bizzarrini had designed for it. At first it might look similar in design to the GTO body, but closer inspection reveals that it is even lower and features a much sharper nose. It was so low that a plastic cover was required to shield the Webers that pierced through the bonnet. The roofline carried on all the way to the rear end where it was sharply cut-off to create an extreme Kamm style tale.

Upon completion the Count was rightfully impressed with his new racer that was 100 kg lighter than a GTO, more aerodynamically efficient and equally powerful. It was part of a three car entry for Le Mans together with the GTO and a Ferrari 250 TR/61. Soon after its arrival Bizzarrini's unusual rear-end design earned it the nickname 'camionette', French for little truck, or most commonly 'Breadvan' in English.

Don't believe everything you see on the internet. Especially those damn wikipedians.

I just can't believe this. The car has tyres in the rear end, not bread. If it was french I'd believe you but I just don't believe it.

See. The Drogo was built on the success of its ability to cheaply bake bread. 👍
Ahhh screw it we live in the alternate world where Ferraris are cheap and Breadmakers have enough money to buy ultra rare racecars solely to bake bread because surely ovens didn't exist back then.

Didn't we do the same thing on this very thread about a month or two ago? This whole thing gives me an idea. Why don't we make an italian restaurant and use the Ferrari as the oven!!! That would get customers rolling in. I'm going to go patent that lol.

We could just let the Ferrari burn by itself, then use it as an oven. They're good at it.

Nah, ovens existed, just that they were so expensive that it was cheaper to use Ferrari Breadvans to bake in.

You silly people of course bread ovens were more expansive than Ferrari Race Cars back in the days!
