Damn you're right, after a lot of tries (the avatar keeps moving during the shots...) I've managed to take a picture of his eyes, less visible and that area is darker than the others.

Anyway, I've found this particular label, 'Smoke test' (looks like a reference to his nickname), on the back of Tony Stewart's helmet, common helmets and other special outfits didn't have this label, at least the ones I've tried.

Not really a easter egg in a sense but I happen to run across this at Monza.

As you can see, these are old Marlboro F1 logos on a wall near the pit exit. Easy to find on the track and photomode, it shows the detail PD have gone with the tracks.

a "smoke test" is done when checking major features before releases of hotfixes. It could be that this was labelled for use in early (internal) smoke tests and no one removed it.
