Hello everyone,

Got it yesterday, play for a good few hours, but this report still preliminary.

First I have to say the new dynamic model was very entertaining, set a solid foundation to the series.

- interface responds good, Menu presentation is clear but a little bit dull.
- while receive first fund in career mode, game force you buy an specific ride (Honda Fit)
its a good car, and arguable fine choice on first buy, but I don't like it. Although I may understand the reason.

- not much choice on aero parts (Standards maybe nothing), most of them were GT type.
- AI slightly improved, occasionally gives you pressure (or bumps you by PIT and off the track in my case)
- many track have daytime and weather changes(sadly not everyone)
- night session race was fun and challenging, the headlamp kind dim, but the atmosphere was great.
- convertible still CAN NOT open in any driving mode(S2000 both premium and standard tested)

In general, combine with the expectation of new update and existing feature, GT6 is great
,represent an more refine driving game of PS3 generation.

the missing feature like the following one and some of above, still hoping PD would eventually add it by updates.

The lost feature in practice mode, FREE RUN

In the GT3(or 4, not sure), practice in career mode allow you to choose any track and join many random AI vehicle scatter across the area, in an unlimited lap session.

You can overtake any or by many, and fine tune the setting in Pit, its much dynamic and also make the tuning more reliable.

There were no wining and losing, just having fun and practice the relation between other vehicle on the track and your own.

In later update of GT5 seems add the similar feature, but online session only (correct me if wrong)

In offline mode, more stable and consistent environment will still hugely benefit from the feature.

Still don't understand why this simple and nice feature were not include, maybe it's not popular...

eager to know how you guys think?

wait..Practice is missing? So what do we do now? Man, that is seriously disappointing (picking up my game today)

Practice mode is where I spent a majority of my time in the GT series.

How much responsive does it feel with a controller? Do you recommend I go get a wheel along with this?

Because in the the previous installment I often had late steering response and the joystick is difficult to get the turning angle I wanted.

Arcade Mode -> Time Trial.

It's not like arcade mode in GT5, but integrated. You can access your garage directly from there.

Practice isnt missing. In the garage it shows test drive. You can pick a track and tune there.

The OP is talking about the feature that was like a track day.

Catlin, no worries, practice mode still there, in Garage section

My concern was like Ford_racer said, feature like a open track day not yet reintroduced in the series.

It would be great if you have the freedom to cruse around with your cars on any circuit with other AI driver, without racing.

And in the Pit area you could fine tune your ride, or better, change any car you own.

Hazzy997, with DS3 I change the throttle/brake to R2/L2 like I always does, the responsive was good, but with new physic model implemented in GT6, I do find the controller a bit sensitive on steering, but nothing bad.

Racing wheel on the other hand were a lot different idea, it's more like a feature rather than controller.

Wheel does need a sturdy platform and extra space, so if you find yourself capable and available, it's good thing to invest in.

if you ask me... I can have fun on both.

- In GT Auto, no more animation while changing oil or washing the car... shame.
- Brake modification will alter the look (standards also apply)
- Red hot disk brake presentation still there.

Yes, from the garage you can do free mode/ time trial. However, it doesn't record the top 10 times as it in GT5. I used to like running certain model cars on certain tracks to see which one I could drive faster around that track Monza and the Ring were my two favorites to pit against myself. I suppose I'll have to create an excel spreadsheet to save my top times which I suppose can be more fun as I can save all my times that way versus just the top 10. But I do feel that this is a step back. The menu system is different, not necessarily better but not worse either. I do like the improved photo. I haven't looked into the track creation tool as I've not either unlocked it or not found it yet. Maybe they removed it. I found the one in GT5 to be pretty worthless anyway, so no big loss there. Plenty of real world tracks to play on.

Would have to disagree with you there. The menu system is light years ahead of where it was in 5. Today I spent my time setting up cars to race online. First thing you have to do is an oil change so that you get the accurate read on PP & HP. I can sit at the pit area hit start and select the next car. I don't have to move anywhere. Only have to do one back out. One.
