I was just thinking about entering a corner with a faster speed.

I use T500 RS with the Ferrari F1 rim, and cockpit view for all the cars.
Ok, let me explain what I meant by "tweaking".

Presumably everyone that posts in the non-tuned sections ("Production" and "Race/Non-Production") are using the stock cars, no upgrades and no tweaks like brake bias, suspension settings etc. Just the way it is when you buy it, do an oil change and then drive it like that.

Now, you did with the Red Bull Jr. a lap time of 06:12.883. Stock.
What I said was, take that car tweak/change/improve its characteristics by changing all the necessary parts to make it even better (brake bias, suspension, transmission, lsd, downforce) and then post you best lap time to see how much faster you are with the improved car.

And also do the same with the Red Bull Prototype, you should get a faster time than 03:39.135 with a tweaked car.
Then post both those lap times in the "open" category.

Do you understand what I mean now?

P.S. I drive all my cars in cockpit view except RB Prototype, for me that's impossible, but if you can do that in this car, you must be some kind of human robot or something. :P

I will try it later, need to find a day with full of energy:D

In fact I have an onboard recorded when I first got PS3 and T500 RS back in 2011. Still with the stock GT wheel rim at that time. A lot slower back then......Now I am using the Ferrari F1 Rim and a 46" big TV

I'm impressed and I'm looking forward to your lap times when you have the time. :)

06:11.900 - Honda NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car (PAKFA)
06:07.901 - Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car '98 (PAKFA)

The SLS is a great drive, a little slow for its fully tuned PP, but I like it a lot. Good sound too.

The two "road cars", the Honda and the Nissan are funny. The reason I say this is because these 2 are race cars in disguise actually and on top of that you get to use NOS on them, which is just nuts. These two are very fast for their PP.

P.S. I never use NOS (nitro) when racing offline or online, I only do it in the "open category" to set the best lap times. In fact I think NOS is silly in GT, but for the sake of the fastest lap times I "have" to use it so I don't gimp myself compared to others, after all there's a reason why is called "open category".

I will do clean lap tomorrow in R and mkV GTI with NOS. I've managed 6:50 tonight with R, but there was some crashing, and tune is my own (and I'm not that good at tuning :) )

No problem PAFKA for the Nitrous.

Heres some new ones ::)

Look what you did! You got me interested in those cars and I had to buy and tune them and then I did that.. :P
By the way, all my cars are tuned by me because none of the online tunes work with my driving style and my wheel.

Also, I think I found a bug with the flat floors. On both Golfs when I install the flat floors, it raises the PP, but the actual performance of the cars is lower on track. I lost about 30 km/h in straight line speed on both of them, without changing anything in the car's set-up.

Has anyone else seen this? I need to do some more testing with other cars to see if this happens with them too.

edit: I just took the flat floors OFF my Viper ACR and gained 6 second on my lap time. I thought flat floors improve the aerodynamics under the car and make it go faster not slower, wth...
edit2: I found a topic discussion about this "issue" here, for anyone interested > https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/flat-floors-custom-parts.292074/

You are fantastic driver obviously and you use wheel so I'm satisfied with my 6:48 time (DS3), but I'll do some more practice to beat that 👍 (to beat 6:48, not your time ) Can you provide your setup for those 2 cars, probably won't work for me because of potentially different driving styles and ds3 vs wheel, but why not to try. :)

I'm nowhere near being fantastic, but thanks for the kind words.
I just got my 1st ever wheel a month ago, a DFGT, which is a beginner's wheel, if I may say so. So I'm still learning and improving.

I sent you a PM with my settings, they are custom made for my driving style which is "a heavy right foot" :), as in acceleration. You will see some unique LSD figures, because of that.
Anyway, I'm curious if you can play with my settings.

Don't say that, it makes me even worse

Thanks for tunes, I've tried few laps with R and one with GTI. I can't tell you more about GTI cause it was really quick try with crashes, but I'm faster with R than on my settings. First I've tried it at Willow springs and I was doing it same or even slower, but on Nurb I was faster for 3 seconds in first lap. Time without NOS is 6:58, and with NOS gap was -12sek on the last straight but I've crashed on last corner and finished it in 6:49 (so in reality I can catch 6:45 easily).

Have you tried with higher top speed and saved NOS for last straight? R can go above 350kmh there with NOS.

However even if I hit the same lap time, it is easier for me to drive with your setup, car feels more secure and stable, thanks again 👍

(Sorry for bad English :) )

The Veyron... it can do better but i dont want to drive it anymore at the moment..

This was very interesting. The ACR is faster without the flat floors, but surprisingly overall slower than the GTS. And the GTS is uncontrollable without flat floors, but with them ON is very fast, scary fun, but controllable.

UPDATED is for when you beat your own lap times and BEATEN for when you beat other people's lap times, right?

Your English is fine and you're welcome.
The top speed is the optimal for me, but you can try it higher and see how that goes.

Spent most of the afternoon trying (and failing) to get the Huayra under 7 mins.

Been close a few times, but man, that car is tricky to get round the Ring consistently at its limit. It's balance is quite benign, and it basically understeers. But it's got so much torque and it spins up so quickly, and once the rears are spinning it's like it has a 1,000kg flywheel as even if you ease the throttle it keeps spinning

It desperately needs more re-bound damping and more rear brake bias.

Anyhow, I'll hold off posting a time until I crack a 6.xx.

After the frustration I need something a bit easier to drive...

07:50.550 - NISMO 400R '96 (GTP_Stotty) NEW

Pretty easy to drive, but not very quick for almost 400bhp. You can hammer the curbs in this one :D

Goodluck with the Huayra!, havent tried one of those yet.:scared:

The McLaren is, like in GT5... intimidating! once you understand it its nice though, a little easier than in GT5, but will bite you if you get your eyes off the track for a brief moment
Theres a little more time in it but its such a delicate car.

Fabulous time in the F1 Mike 👍

thx mate! it felt like i was all over the place at time though
i been too cautious at the end i lost over 0.600
video of the run:

I'm looking forward to watching the video when I get home from work tonight (when I can have the sound on)... I'm interested if it looks/sounds anything like my Huayra lap felt - the Huayra is very fast and doesn't like trail braking, so you have to brake very early, plus it's vicious on the exits, so you're on part throttle a lot of the time. Makes the lap feel a bit slow in some ways, like you're not getting the max out of the car.

I gave this a shot, although it didn't prove easy keeping it on track the whole lap...

I suspect you guys could beat that by over 10 seconds but oh well :P

I can't wait to try the FT-1 on the Ring! I bet all you guys are going to do amazing lap times with it. Maybe even beat the Mercedes VGT.

Some new BMWs: (production)

08:46.969 - BMW 330i '05 (Slimduck87) NEW
08:48.575 - BMW Z4 '03 (Slimduck87) NEW

The M Coupé is easily faster, but I got tired of it.. The 330i is so balanced and nice to drive :)

I'm nothing like a Ring specialist and doesn't really like the track specially not for racing. I understand why people do. I prefer tracks like Suzuka, Spa, Silverstone, Fuji and so on. But i can appriciate a TT around the ring every now and then. Last time i did a lap around the ring was about a year ago. Cos i doesn't drive the the ring that often i don't know it that well. Started out with a lower range car this weekend.

Thats exactly how the McLaren F1 feel! you have to brake early or you end up oversteering in a weird way (vs understeer with the huayra i think), and it feel like you are not pushing the car enought, i couldnt explain it better. :)

thx for posting new times guys, good to see you posting Dennis.( if i got your name right?) :)

The El Camino only have 2 speed, making it not so fun to drive.
The Nova feel like its a rocket i thought it would be sub 8 min but it didnt
And the Golf i thought it would been faster than in GT5 but it look like its not or i just couldnt drive it well...

i did 2 lap for those,
some cars seems a lot faster than in GT5 while some are barely faster or the same and then some are slower, i tried briefly the Amuse S2000 turbo and im far away from the 6:31 i did in GT5, only managed 6:39 and it felt like it was a decent lap, the handling is weird. :scared:

:dopey: I didn't know Mike was clairvoyant...

Hey Mike can you predict when I'll come back to GT6, because the last few days I've been spending in this amazing racing simulator called Assetto Corsa (on PC)? :P

I haven't even installed the 1.03 patch yet, as far as I can see it has some new "errors" bundled with it.

Oh well, I'll probably come back in a few days and post some new times in the "open" category. I think...

Thx @DTM !

@PAKFA you can post new laps whenever you are ready :)

Heres another one while i wait for the WRS divisional placement! :)
