7 post rig? What a complete waste of time. This would be the most boring feature ever.

To the simple-minded maybe, but for those of us who find interest in chassis and suspension adjustment, it'd be a rather interesting way to tune a vehicle, rather than use of a "butt-dyno" and guess-work as done previously.

At the least, it'd be more useful than having scanned a large area of the moon, but only have 3 point-to-point events to use it. :sly:

(que obligatory "Kaz will add more uses!" response )

Granturismo's chassis and suspension model is noware near sophisticated enough to really delve into the nitty gritty of CORRECT tuning.

Sorry,but IMO it just isn,t.
And before you question my integrity I've circuit raced a Datsun P510 for years learning lots through trial and error.

What? I'm finding more to do in GT6... The one thing I agree with you is the museum, that was a nice way to teach people the history of the automobile. Oh and endurance racing. Other than that, meh.
i'm expecting endurance racing with the release of B-spec, so you can change drivers part way through the race.

I hope they'll 'model' a few b-spec drivers after real life endurance racers, so you'll at least be able to trust your car to a capable driver instead of b-spec Bob that pits every lap... But I don't think that'll ever happen :(

That does sound plausible I mean they have named drivers on the NASCAR races ingame already.

Lots to look forward to, the game will be worth buying when most of these features are included and when most of the horrible bugs like slow down AI are addressed. For me GT6 is another very disappointing game, I can't believe we have a game with so many bugs and lack of features after three or more years of development. GT is one of those game that is best bought a year after launch seemingly.

Please win me over with GT7 PD.

B-spec is useless without fast forwarding. The only point of it is easy/fast grinding :/

Wait, they gave the X2014 active suspension? So that's two of the most epic cheats/inventive ideas to be used in F1. That thing has to go absurdely fast.
What did you expect? They're designed by the biggest cheater in F1, Adrian Newey. Notice how his cars usually start the season slow and then get much faster in the late stages? This was clear last year when he started cloning the Sauber. That's when he starts copying everyone's designs and integrate them into his own. That's for another discussion anyway.

And I've built & tracked, with help of family & friends, my own personal Civic for a few years as well (check my signature), integrity isn't the subject or topic here.

I still believe having a rig/machine for analysis of suspension dampening/oscillation & alignment, for on-track stress would be useful, whether the games physics are perfect or not. I'd like to know if and where my cars 'bottom-out' at various tracks, and where I could find improvements in a car's alignment setting, and to see a digital-readout of those factors, rather than use of the 'butt-dyno' as I mentioned earlier.

Tuning is a game does require some trial and error creativity but once you figure out the nuances, just like with real cars, it works quite well.

And to be fair, those 510's (and 512) run in the same group with Miata's in my scca region and they are just insanely agile! And fast! They lap us in spec Miata's and once I tried to follow one and nearly killed myself... Very unique cars and nothing quite like them since. And I finished 3rd in the STL championship this year so I'm not a spring chicken... I would love to run a properly setup 510... I would call it the wonder box.

With a fresh set of slick tyres,a fairly sorted suspention and some decent heat into my slicks,I remember cornering so hard it actually started to make my head hurt.

I had a ball with that car...allbeit at considerable cost.

It would be nice if we could get some kind of a more detailed preview of the online features coming in Just a few weeks...

I wonder if the GT 5 media services shutting down could be being reclaimed for GT 6...?

Add permanent damage as well, unless it's scrapped. It was shown on a screenshot on the official site before being replaced so it's either scrapped or delayed.
This was something clearly removed in the final hours of launch... If it was officially announced I'd add it.

This list above is Offical features to come straight from Sony.

Yes, unfortunate. It appears that it has been deprioritized for marketing related updates that appeal to mass media outlets.

"Custom Parts
Personalise your cars with custom external parts and wheels."

so thats what they meant with "you will be able to personalise your car" .... wow
Remember all the excitement and speculation surrounding this announcement. The boards were alight with anxious pilots dreaming of all the wonderful things they would be able to add to their cars, to customize them, to make them their own. What did we get. More wheels:tup: A couple of extra rear wing options:tup: An extra splitter or two on some cars:tup: Ability to remove wings on some cars:tup:

Which doesn't really add up to the "thousands" of options they promised unless you take each car's 3 or 4 additional optional parts and multiply by the number of cars in the game which is about as lame a marketing trick as you can get:tdown:👎👎👎👎

All in all, every customized car, outside of a handful like the 78' Trans Am, El Camino and a few others, look pretty much the same as they did in GT5:tdown:👎👎

Awww that list would have been spectacular if it was a list of what was actually in the game on launch. Dang! At this point all I want is the Arcade mode to have pitstops/tire wear and scale the opponents to my car & give credits for winning. That's all I want now PD.. please? :(
