So, has the release of GT6 been amongst the greatest screw-ups in gaming history?
I'm sure the list can go on.
I know that games get released with bugs, glitches and flaws these days and they are usually fixed through online updates, for those fortunate enough to have network connectivity for their consoles. I, however, don't think I have ever seen such a large collection of errors that also include those of releasing the actual physical game itself too. It can't be that difficult to organise a simultaneous global release date - other game releases have managed it.
I admit that I am annoyed that my pre-ordered copy didn't arrive yet but I am really quite anxious about actually receiving the game given what I am reading in our forums here.
- Stores selling the game almost a week ahead of official release date in the Middle East
- Reports in the forums of people being able to purchase the game in other parts of the world a day or two before official release date
- People in the forums posting that they have received a pre-ordered game by mail ahead of the official release date
- People on release date still waiting for their game to be shipped because stores did not order enough copies
- Reports that pre-order bonus codes are not being shipped with the game
- Reports that pre-order bonus codes are not being sent by email
- Reports that pre-order bonus codes are not even working
- Reports of crashing, glitches and game breaking bugs in the forums
- Removal of the speed test functionality that was previously added to GT5 as a result of popular community peer pressure
- Premium, Semi-Semi-Premium, Semi-Premium, Standard, Sub-Standard - what ever you call them I am seeing reports of far too many differing levels of quality in the featured cars
- Money making glitches that will inevitably see the reintroduction of invisible barriers on tracks
- No time-scale given on promised game features that are unavailable on release date
I'm sure the list can go on.
