Does it bother anybody else that they always make it look like there is going to be actual racing in the game? In career mode cars are never that close to each other on a circuit and the grids are always a haphazard mix of completely random cars. It certainly gives you the impression that you'll be able to have a proper GT3 or Le Mans grid and have close, hard-fought racing battles..............which is just not true. :banghead:
Lots of things including engine sounds and the closeness of the racing in these trailers bear no resemblence to the real game. They hype train is at full steam however...no stopping it now:lol:

The 4 series base version is already for sale right? I saw one on the freeway a few weeks back and it was striking, very aggressive looking. It had dealer tags.
There was an M4 on the lot when I got my car serviced in October...

GT 5.5 vs GT 6.0 is an argument based on how a product feels when playing or otherwise perceived by the end user. Not a literal itemized list. Games aren't summed up on "how much", but more how well you used what you got. Something as easy as new sounds and a livery editor would change the majority perception of GT then updated existing features including rendered and physics as those are core to any product like this anyway.

Games aren't made by checklists, nor can they be made without them. But if your game feels more like the original game than a new one, by a majority of users, then your game is a .5 regardless of the budget, time, and exhaustive spreadsheets and marketing USP's...

I'm not on either side of the argument with GT yet, but I've experienced the .5 stigma as a development leader and it didn't matter how fancy my argument was, it didn't trump others subjective observations enmass.

:embarrassed: Did I just see Senna's Lotus F1 car in that intro?
Lotus 97T I assume, judging by those panels in front of the rear wheels.

Yeah, it was in October on the 101 next to the San Fran airport... REally was amazing to look at and I'm not a beemer fan... Audi and BMW has pretty fixed molds... Looks like the death of the M3 also destroyed the mold! I never thought that would be good as I always liked the M3...

If the 97T is all we get in terms of pre-1987 F1 cars that Senna drove, I'll be happy.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think they got the sounds right in the end of the intro.

They dubbed over real engine sounds that aren't comparable with what we'll hear in the game. Plus they wrongly chose the sound of a V8 F1 car for the FXX. It's nothing new.

Honestly.....and I'll know I'll be run right out of GTP for saying this.......if the racing was exciting enough I could overlook the poor sounds pretty easily. As it stands I get bored chasing the rabbit and start to look/listen around and realize things aren't quite right. :dunce:

Ok, I'm just gonna go ahead and put my flamesuit on now.....

I've been calling it GT5.5 from the start, but after spending a few days with it, I'm loving it.

Hate the sounds and the AI but the driving and the new tracks are mouth watering.

I only hope that Kaz did good on track. Couple years ago, Bruno Senna spun off in a very peaceful lap in Interlagos with this car.

Those V6s are very powerful.

Waitwaitwaitwait. So are we getting the 97 or the 98?

Damn F1 cars, why do they have to bolt on new winglets and spoilers every race...

inb4 he throws in both.

Because they're visually similar enough as it is.

I think his picture is actually the 97t.
98t has no winglets and a straight front wing.

Kaz is indeed sitting in a 97T. The Olympus sponsors on the nose and side also give it away (98T had DeLonghi).
