GT6 sound wishlist

We already have wishlists to tracks and cars.

Now I propose an alternative wishlist: the engine sounds you would love to hear in GT6.

You can suggest quality standards, or just post any kind of engine sound that would be nice on the game.

I don't know about the car, but I think that is the Pavarotti of the engines:

You can jump to 2min05 and listen what would be like to stand in a straight listen to that almighty sixteen cilinder thunders by. After 6min there is some onboard captation.

Thread is weird, but it makes some sense. I would rather say which cars you would wish to have their sound samples changed and fixed. Here are some:

-Dodge Viper GTS
-BMW M3 E46
-McLaren MP4-12C (although one of the after-market exhaust kind of fixes it)
-McLaren F1
-Ferrari Enzo
-Lamborghini Murcielago
-Lamborghini Aventador
-Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR (same as McLaren. One of the after-market exhausts fixes it)
-Audi TT-S
-Audi RS-6 (something about it is not quite right...)
-Audi Quattro
-All 5 cylinder cars (something about their sound... it is like half right. they need some adjusting)
-Citroen GT (Road car)
-Dodge Viper GTS-R Oreca
-Dodge Viper GTS-R Concept
-Some Subaru cars
-Mercedes CL 600
-Mercedes SL65
-Mercedes SL600 and SL500 (R230)
-Corvette C5-R
-Camaro LM
-Saleen S7 (the messed it up after an update)

If I can remember some other cars I'll note them down. So far these are the ones that bother me the most. PD did improve a lot from GT4 to GT5. Many cars got their sound fixed and improved, but there is still room for improvement.

Fair judgement 👍

By no means a good video, but the part where he drives off is one of the most impressive sounds I've heard on YouTube. I love exotics and I generally wish their sounds will become more epic. The LP670-4 SV has the Gallardo V10 sound when the exhaust is stock, sports and semi racing are terrible samples, and racing exhaust is the copied sound from the Zonda R. This is the same for the LP640 and the LP700-4 Aventador. I really hope PD does something about this but I doubt it to be honest, after all they introduced the Aventador as DLC in 2011 and still dared to do the silly sound copying from the Gallardo... :indiff:

Exactly why I noted both Murcielagos and the Aventador. I don't get why PD just decided to copy-paste the sample from the Gallardo in these two. What's even stranger is that they took the time to fix the sound on the stock Standard Zonda's, making them sound fairly accurate to the real thing. I would've mind if they just pasted that sample into the two V12 Lambos since it would be much more accurate.

There's also a sticky thread for things you want in Gran Turismo that aren't cars or tracks.

You're right , but sound in my opinion are so important that a special single thread showing what people want in GT6 is OK.
Even more that PD didn't reveal anything about car's sound yet. Perhaps our opinion and samples can be really usefull for the future game.
I've read somewhere that they are giving a lot of attention to the opinions of their fans....... Let's see if it's true.

I remember the interview Kaz had about the engine sounds and them sounding too perfect/pure/clean (I forget the exact word he used). If he's confident that Polyphony has done a good job recreating the engine sounds then why are the engine/exhaust notes in the trailers dubbed? If they're dubbing the cars then doesn't that mean they're unsatisfied with the sounds as they are?

To the OP: I just hope Polyphony can make the cars sound beefier. IMO the way the rpms rise in the game sound like they recorded the car idling, and when u accelerate that "idling audio sample" just gets sped up. When your driving down a straight for example, it sounds like the car is revving in neutral rather than accelerating under load. Again in my opinion

And there's already a well established thread for sounds in GT6.

That thread became a discussion about sound, PD, development, hardware restrictions and so on. And a place to people rant about the overal quality of the car sounds in GT5.

My intention with this thread was to offer a space to the community show what the game should sound. You could show us real car sounds or even good examples of engine noise found in other racing games. IMO, both sound threads don't overlap.

There is a lot of topics with cars and tracks wishlists and topics about "the one car that you want in the GT6" and polls/threads about original tracks that should be in the game. So, why not a sound dreaming, full of wishfull thinking, one?
