I got my game today, a I patched it right after the install.

To be hones, so far its the most joyless Gran Turismo start I ever had.
The first 10 minutes I was constantly shaking my head.

What I can say from the videos before, the gallery view at the car dealer was changed. Instead of a withe background the car is rendered in some sort of concrete cube, it looks like utter crap.

Also I have a question to the other people who have the game already. Are the cockpits of the Fit and the Lotus Europa, really that low poly or is that a glitch? They look really bad. Also for the Europa, the adaptive tessellations does no seem to work. Even in photo mode I can exactly count the polys in the wheel arches.

Stop playing in 166p then.

Well, it doesn't make much sense to come on one of the world's largest gaming forums and complain about not being able to find anyone to race with.

When I just want to have a quick race or two, it's not worth the time and effort to gather people here.

Besides, the open lobby
appears to be available and you can go there and find a simple race whenever you're in the mood.

If only it were as simple as you're making it out to be. In GT5, I had to waste time searching for a lobby that allows the car I want to use and getting the host to start the race assuming I find the lobby. The time I have to play video games is limited these days. I don't want to waste it by searching and waiting for a race I may or may not get.

There's also a friends list feature so you can see when your friends are online playing GT6 and you can meet up with them in a room for simple online races.

And if they're not playing GT6 when I have time to play or if they're not in the mood to race me online, then what?

You could join a GTP league or club that has regularly scheduled meetings or random pick-up races.

Why do I need to dedicate myself to a club or league for something simple that other online racing games have no issue providing me with without the help of a fan community?

I don't see how missing one feature (that we never even had in GT5) makes online racing un-useable. I hope they add the the quick match feature, but I'm sure that in true PD fashion it won't be as useful as it should be.

I did manage to participate in some races with GT5's system, but I felt I spent more time searching/waiting than actually racing. And I'm sure Quick Match probably won't be perfect. I don't think I've seen a matchmaking system that was. But I'm sure it'll be more convenient than what you're offering me, which is the whole point of my argument.

Novice is new to the series. It used to go B -> A -> iB -> iA -> S.

Edit: At my internet speed it should take it about 15 minutes. Hopefully. I don't think I've gotten 2.25MB/s from the PSN, though.

Novice is not a license. It's the series of races and events that lead up to taking the B license. So the first prize car, the kart is the prize for B, I believe.

I don't know, seems more realistic than GT5 to me. I spend a lot of time around squealing tires of all different compounds and to me this sounds like a very hard compound street tire sliding a lot on a fairly grippy surface. As someone mentioned above, tire squealing sounds can vary a lot with tire compound and surface texture. Some race tires don't make much of any sound at all when they are sliding a bit. Some interiors really look like those standard cockpits from GT5(Caterham/PT Cruiser), am I right?

I'm having the same or more fun I had with GT2 and GT4 in their release times. i'm at work, completely bored, bathing myself in coffee to stay awake enough for one more stint of GT6 tonight. Went to bed at 6am last night.

Totally worth!

That is terrible. It sounds like a sound sample restarting itself over and over so much to the point of creating a buzzing or pulsing sound. If that's a legit sound there must be some tremendous wheel hop going on or something. It's annoying to the point where I would rather have something less realistic IF that really is how it should sound.

After 2 hours of downloding it was at 89 procent, and then I got an error...

Worst part is; instead of only having to download the last 11% it has to download everything from the start because the downloaded 89% magically disappeared

I'm lucky I'm working only half days on friday, so I'll have more time tomorrow, but this just pisses me off.

adaptive tessellation won't help here. If the model at its max detail level is already of low complexity, there is no high detail version to move in and out from as the model moves to and from the camera.

I think we all know that whatever "quick match" feature PD gives us is just going to drop us in a room full of 13 year old potty-mouths driving their RedBulls/NASCARs the wrong way on the track.

That is actually not a bad payout for starters, I like it

I was hoping that we would have seasonal events but not the huge payouts right away. Just would not be right to be able to earn 300k in a single race on the first day of getting the game. Those amounts are quite a bit more than the Novice races and I would imagine that there will be more soon with higher payouts.
