Time to keep fighting at Monza, wish me luck. I've got 12 hours to make a move and then the races will disappear. It's fun doing qualifying laps and racing/comparing times with my friends. We can help each other learn by replays and ghosts. Day #5 of the new year, happiness and joy will come to these future daily races.

By Tuesday, realised I didn't like this week at all.

Monza was quite boring.

Deep Forest reverse is a bin fest with that hairpin on lap 1 (and lap 2, 3, 4, 5). Lap 6 might be alright if you've already been punted out enough to get some time with no one directly behind you because you're already at the back

Tokyo seemed fun actually but race A rarely gets a look in for me as there's nothing to gain if you have full SR.

It took you till Tuesday 🤣

Joking aside it's not been a "must race week"

Won't do Monza because you lot are so much faster, did deep forest and it's hit and miss, 3 awful 4 great on average, but not doing my normal amount of races.

Overall I feel like these races were designed to be levellers and that's fine.

Think this is the last good run for the week...lobbies are getting desperate. You'd think Sundays to be the best possible racing given we've had the most possible time to figure it out, lol.

Was struggling to keep up for the first couple of laps. Much heat in the mirror caused lack of focus on what was happening through the windshield. Attrition kept me in it, though. Started P4, dropped to P6 in the middle of the last turn and churned my way to a P2 finish:

Lookin' forward to next week!

Good evening all.

Daily A:
Undoubtedly, a race for Need4Speed or Track Mania lovers.
As someone said before, can be cool if we meet the right players.
I like the variety of the cars, but can't use my liveries again.

Daily B:
Seems that the most of Huracán players, feel that have the right to push and win all races. Right from the 1st corner.
Made less than 10 races here.
PD, once more I ask, if there is any car brutally faster, just set an increasing tyre wear to it.

Daily C:
Another great opportunity lost, PD. At least, it is where I am having some fun.
All tires available, or at least the hards and softs, would create a few different strategies and more fun.
Imagine 10 laps, where the softs are ~2 seconds faster per lap. ~2X10=~20 seconds.
~20 seconds is the time spend in the pit lane.
Of course, without mandatory pit stop. Why? Because the starters with hards would not stop. The starters with softs would stop once. It should and might would be more fun, instead the pit stop for... Nothing.

By the way, we have the Sierra Cosworth, Alfa 155, BMW M3 and Mercedes 190.
For when, removing the 155 from GT4 class and set a proper daily with these cars?

Looking for the new week.

Cheers to all.

Apologies for the long post. It was a long day. 😤

Couldn't improve on my Race C QT of 1:49.239 in the NSX Gr.3.

Race 1: Started P3. Had a costly solo spin exiting Ascari on Lap 5. Went for the overcut at the end of Lap 9. Finished P11.

Race 2: Started P9. Went for the undercut at the end of Lap 1. A G70 rubbed me wide exiting the first chicane on Lap 10. Finished P7.

Race 3: Started P3. On Lap 1, a Viper rubbed me wide entering the first chicane. I rubbed them wide exiting it. Went for the overcut at end of Lap 9 while in P2. I exit in P3 for the final lap, just ahead of a quick AMG that pulled off a nice pass on the inside of the first Lesmo. The GT-R in P2 wiped out at Parabolica, gifting me and the AMG a position. Finished P3.

Race 4: Started P9. My lack of pace didn't make the overcut at the end of Lap 9 very effective. Finished P6.

Race 5: Started P8. Used a quick Vette to pull me around until my overcut at the end of Lap 9. Someone forgot to pit, gifting me a position. Finished P6.

Race 6: Started P9. Got beaned braking into the second chicane on Lap 1. Tried to undercut a Ferrari at the end of Lap 3. Had a solo spin exiting the first chicane on Lap 9. Finished P10.

Race 7: Started P11. I thought my pace was better than it was. It was not. Did the overcut at the end of Lap 9. Finished P9.

Race 8: Started P8. Did an undercut after Lap 1. On the final lap, pushed wide by a GT-R at the first chicane, and wiped out by a G70 at Parabolica. Finished P15 (last, after a DNF).

Race 9: Started P11. On Lap 8, a G70 in a scrap with a Ferrari almost comes to a complete stop at the second chicane. I barely tap them and collect a 2.0 second penalty. I pit immediately, and am able to undercut them. At Parabolica on the last lap, a decent exit and a sliver of slipstream from a GT-R - emerging victorious from a fight with a Vette - helped me gain a position by 0.012 seconds. Finished P9.

Race 10: Started P8. Felt spicy for my last race of the day, leading to a highlight pass into Ascari that I didn't think would stick. Finished P5.

Not a bad week at Monza, if I put it into perspective: 8055 Global Ranking Qualifying Time (as of posting), 30 races, 21 times P10 or better - with 8 being in the Top 5 - and 4 podiums.

Cheers to you too, and enjoy the new races this week. Well... we have 7 hours left of the action and then the races will switch-over.

I know, I have 2 other accounts in A and this was the fringe account.

I'm 6000 daily races in now, yes 6k is like to think I can read the room and be able to adjust as needed. I'm not sure how to adjust to people throwing it up the inside, then not having any pace so you just pass them again and again all while taking time out of the race :/

I don't think they are playing the same game...mine is let's go as fast as possible and last lap let's get in to it or catch the leaders etc.

I don't think a lot of people in those lobbies have enough in the gray matter to think like that and drive like it.
My biggest fault is i brake early and lightly and smooth my way through the turns wheras others just blaze in, slam on brakes, and don't care about others in their ways.

Looks like 3 good races this week. Trial Mountain in the old Merc should be especially fun for the VR users.
I love racing the Alfa 4C around Brands, don't care if it's not the fastest, there's just something about this track/car combo that's so great to drive. That Trial Mountain race does sound tempting, might have to divert away from Brands for a bit.

Great week at Deep Forest. I never even made it over to C and Monza is one of my faves. Still a bit of a dive fest and such but overall some great racing out there. You know it's gonna be a tough when the track map is pointing to the most important component of a successful week...the rearview:

Now we have Gr.3's at Suzuka on RM's? Color me in...

@TheNormsk I hope you're on the mend and better soon!

I also had a great week at Deep Forest. Now group 4 on Brand's Hatch returns. Very nice. Interestingly you can only tune the damping if I'm not mistaken, not even all of the suspension. I like running around the G70 there. The Megane is also a fun car but I'm often a little too throttle happy on corner exits. If your outside back wheel is off track while doing that you're going to have a hard time.

Thanks. Doctor said I should remain off my bike for another few weeks. Said nothing about the rig but I failed to mention that 🤔. I have tried to use it, but mostly I really suffer the next day from braking effort straining my lower back.

My brake pedal has been failing over the last few months getting worse and worse. I found if I dial down the force needed then it registers >50% initial braking force with no effort. I need to run it at a strong 65 to 70% to get a 20-100% range from it so it's not good. Luckily I have my CSL pedals that came with the wheel and those should be easy to press but will feel weird after a strong load cell.

Hi mate, Im going a bit offtopic here but hope I can help you or others with this issue.

9 months ago or something like that I was having some lower back pain for the first time in my life (Im 42 years old) and it was coincidental with some changes to my rig (load cell brakes).
No other changes in my habits or life routines.

The pain was growing stronger and before going to the doctor I found somewhere on the internet that the problem maybe related to the angle of the left leg (not alligned with the spine) applying so much pressure than before.

I removed the clutch of my pedals plate and moved my brakes to the left until I got my leg perfectly alligned with the axis of my spine.
I also lowered the weight of my brakes from 30kg to 25kg.
After one week with this change the pain started to go and now is just a past story.

It doesnt mean that this is the cause of your pain, but perhaps that tip could help you or others as It helped me.

Hope you get well soon, I was missing your times on my friends list.

If I don't make into 'Plebs of the Week' on Sunday I will be very surprised 🙈 2 shocking races where people think it's fine to run you off the track on the straight ( i returned the favour but i would rather not have to). I love Brands Hatch but it's just not worth losing my temper over it so it's going to be another week of skipping the dailies. Another week of the BMW M2 cup on iRacing for me i think 😪

Daily see seeks to be quite popular with the British today 🤣

We have a foot of snow outside our door but my in-laws pub is next door so I gave up after the **** show earlier and came in for a pint 🤣🤣 I have calmed down a bit now. Might attempt some QT later. The G70 is very good but I'm struggling as usual with brake balance. I'm currently running 3 to the front and that seems quite good. I liked the NSX but again, BB was an issue. I have not touched any damper settings yet

I don't blame you! Our snow lasted 10 mins and then was rained away. Quite jealous of that Guinness it must be said 🍻

My NSX time was stock suspension although I suspect softening it a bit would help with a couple of the curbs.

I run 2/3 to the front as I like to trail brake bleeding off the brakes and feeling the grip and turn in feed in as do. It's purely a driving style thing though.

Not sure I'll stick with it all week, I just need to do a test race to see how hard I am on the tires to see what Strats might work for me.

Edit:

A Tip for VR users is to reset the centre of the screen in the NSX for some reason it positions me a fraction back and to the left until I re centre the view port

That's where I went wrong with the NSX then...I did try 1 lap with a slightly stiff setup and just understeered everywhere. I'm looking at my roof now and hoping my guttering holds up if this snow shifts 🙈🙈🙈

Edit:
This pint is for you 😉👍

Race C could be fun. Or a nightmare. Hope to free up some more time later in the week. Good luck out there!

Race A: W 196 R - 2:04.974 Fun

Race B: NSX Gr.3 - 2:01.770 Used Gallo's NSX ghost. Yikes. Feels like less grip than last week's Monza on RH tires

Race C: NSX Gr.4 (default) - 1:29.731 Practicing quick pit entries without smacking something is hard*

That's not a bad time at Brands in the NSX bud especially without grinding it!

Funny how that works, and the Japanese are flooding the leaderboard at Suzuka. :odd:
I think it's a bit of cultural nuance, as Catalunya was early doors dominated by the Spanish.

It will all normalise to the same old same old but was interesting to see early on.

Edit:

I think a bit of local (region) rivalry comes in to it. We are all exposed to these circuits locally to us more than some. For example I see a lot of touring car/supporting cup races and historic races at brands in person and on TV but see very little of Suzuka or Laguna/daytona if ever.
