@Nakano219 to add to what @mellofello9 said.

As long as you just drive clean or try to as much as you can then it really doesn't matter forum members, streamers, lobby friends just focus on being the person everyone will say hello to because you are a good, fair racer. Pace is pace and we all can't be the fastest and if we get there I want to be known as a clean fast guy.

Just focus on the race let all the other distractions leave you, braking markers, position, situational awareness etc take up enough brain power don't worry about the trivial stuff you can't control.

I have a question for you all:

Whenever I load into a lobby and there's a PSN name with "YT_" or "Twitch_" in it, it always makes me a worse driver because in the back of my mind there's the running thought of "there's people watching this you need to be super careful you don't want to be a laughingstock on a livestream" and it always makes me tense up and underdrive.

Has anyone else ever felt the same way, and if so do you have any tips for getting over this... stage fright, I guess?
Lurker here, but this made me smile. Never bothers me, but I'm someone who races in DR B lobbies and when I see one of these I'm kind of boggled about why anyone would stream the lower-level races and who would watch these. Although I do ocassionally try to remember the name and find them on youtube to see if I can find the race I was in with them.

If we are all honest for the carnage/drama

Also welcome out of the lurking shadows 👋

Nothing wrong with racing in C/B/A/Alien lobbies we are all friends here

I’d say enjoy the fame and pull your gloves tight, strap up your racing boots and race that indoor race car like never before, 🤣

Share your experiences with us here and enjoy ours too

race for the top 5, always 👊

I have the opposite feeling.
Sharing the lobby with streamers is super motivating for me and sometimes I feel I can overperform.

I treasure this battle from some time ago with this alien (wich I obviously end losing).

This shots of "adrenaline" is what I look for when I play this game

Talking about the Gr4 NSX

Tires at the end of lap 6 (usually I'd pit lap 3, but as I was quite a bit out front I wanted to create a free pit gap)

Well done 🙂

You've obviously got the measure of it!

The couple that I saw in races yesterday would catch me from Druids, through Graham Hill bend, and up to Surtees, but after Surtees I was leaving them behind even though they had slipstream.

It would probably have been different if they were in front of me though!

It's the faster car if driven right, what the AWD stuff has is riding those curbs a bit more and earlier on the power of done right doesn't over work the diff.

Smooth is fast, as they say and being early on progressive power just beats that torque shuffling the 4wd diffs have to do (the programmed diff in the G70 is horrific to me) it does none of the things a diff should do but what do I know lol.

I visited Suzuka nursery school today. I don't think I've raced people older than 4-6 years old, either literally or just mentally . Didn't had much fun being "touched" in almost every single race that I have raced in (only 2 out of 15 without unnecessary contacts). It was even worst than Monza last week.
Just throwing out there you should consider doing the 16/17 mins race at brands.

There are rammers etc but overall the racing is better just being a short daily C

Very strange and quite unique experience with my maiden Race A today in the 5pm slot...

5 laps of practice around Trial Mountain, up against a pole sitter (A+, 2.01 quali), with myself starting in 2nd... Hopeless, right? Wrong!

With a 3.5s buffer to 3rd place, and Speedy Gonzalez a hefty 1.8s in front of me, he clearly is pushing WAYYY too hard and he spins out on the left hander leading onto the back straight. Hands me the victory and I got the SR up I was looking for to boot!

Olé!

love the photos.

I would love to be do more A races but my back pain flared up again so can’t drive the rig and I’m not a controller user. Alas…..
Hey just throwing this out there as a possible short term solution if you haven't explored it yet is to look into getting a cortisone shot. It won’t fix the problem, but will help you live with it until a solution is found. Back pain sucks!!!!

Just had a therapy session and I'm told I'm not allowed to be on the rig, or cycle, or basically do anything fun 🤦‍♂️

I might try seeing how bad I am on the controller while lounging on the couch. That I can do. Lounge that is, not being particularly good on a controller. I'm going to go back to automatic gear changes. Oh help me god! :D

Well done but with your true level and against a bunch of Bs is this like clubbing a bunch of seals...

And I want to be known as a clean average fast guy.

In GTS, around the time I discovered TheKie stream and was watching them often. He showed up with his America account and racing from the back in GR.1 Suzuka. I was also racing from the back and in lap1 sector 1 I took him out of a race! Traffic, car in front is slow, I brake and lost the rear of my car while he was passing me. It didn't feel great to say the least. Later, I went to watch the stream to see his reaction:

I àgree màde it c lobbies was some of the cleanest hard racing, I've been in on this game so far stoked
I see you're fairly new here, welcome to the gt7 daily race club. You'll find a lot of key pointers, advice and tips from some pretty fast folks here, we are all a strong dependable community. I'm so glad I found this site in August 2021. Watch out for the A/B lobbies. Some guys are fierce and chaotic trying to defend their position. You have to watch your back, use the mirror if you have to, to protect yourself from the baddies. Good luck, if you want to add me as a friend, my user-id is: rising_glass1.

I've had no luck at Suzuka this week. My final qualifying time ended up being 2:01.4XX which was putting me in the middle of the stating grid. And that just so happens to be where all the chaos is. I was collateral damage in so many wrecks that happened directly in front of me. I don't know if it's the skill of the drivers ahead of me, or just some elbows out racing but it was a mess every race. Lots of spins and rage quits in my lobbies. I spun plenty myself so I was also part of the problem. I had a shot at P1 in my last race of the evening as the leader went off in 130R, but I got distracted by the tire smoke and botched the Triangle and finished P9. I'll be done for the week as I got some stuff going on Friday and I don't play on Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully there are some good combos next week and I can get out of the low-ish B lobbies where I seem to can't get out of.

We all make mistakes, especially when competing and tension is especially high when it's for a prize or in front of a crowd. There's a skill in handling pressure, but it can be worked on. I've done my fair share of stupid mistakes in front of pretty big streamers like spinning in front of Rory or taking the guy out in front of SuperGT by misjudging available space on the track (see video below). However, even if you end up making a mistake nothing is going to happen - you just live to fight another day.

Here's me, making a fool out of myself in front of a crowd. Even if I did become a laughingstock, most of the viewers would most likely never end up in this lobby anyways. I still have this bookmarked to laugh at myself every once in a while.
