I had a good Daily Race C today, speed off the start lane, best start ever and battled for 3rd place till my pistop and lots some places and then came in 9th overall but a fun race in my NSX Gr.3 car! Very fun racing and chaotic drivers abound the Red bull ring!

This guy had a bad start from P6 - dropped to about P9, then back to P4 by T2. I would probably have pulled over and let everyone back through or quit due to shame.

Thankfully my Nascar liveried Genesis escaped T2 in P3.

Blimey that's quick! My optimum was still 2 tenths slower than that

I'm mostly racing C on my alt account and hoping to get that to A/S by tonight or tomorrow, but there's some seriously quick BS guys in Supras and C7s to contend with.

Anybody got a C7 tune? Used to love it in GT Sport

Wow, my emoji that I posted described my reaction to what happened in your video. At least you didn't get in the crash. How did you do all that rotating with the camera? I know you were probably in replay mode, but I've never done that setting before. Nascar saved the day, xD.

@ZEE I'm sure there were a bunch of high-level maniacs battling for the best position, it's like fighting over food in a supermarket with baskets and carts. Great job on the top 10 finish, I'll add you on my friends list asap. Got a lot of stuff going on in normal life.

Like to see him try that with a 6" high sausage curb there!

Edit:

I've been in the office the last few days and my normal few laps here and there routine has been disrupted, hopefully a chill day tomorrow and Friday as I'm on top of things that need doing so might get some racing time in.

@CarreraGT Ive been lapping in the Genesis, Supra mostly I usually star with the MCL but know it's not strong at RBR I tried the GTR and it's competitive with the main two in TT. I think a lot of my issues are down to I grinded hard in the lancer Gr4 when this was a combo and unlearning some of those lines and exits in much more unstable cars I'm finding hard this time round.

On a different topic, I really really didn't think I was feeling it today (tired from work not a lot of racing generally this week and a bottle of wine in)

And well my 5th lap of the evening

That is at the time of posting 287th in the world. In VR!

It's funny how these things work sometimes. Also thank you @TechnoIsLove that track limit tip was game changing for my frustration levels.

Obviously not an alien time but from where I was a couple of years ago to today I'm pretty bloody chuffed.

(Also note I don't have nebu as a friend on my alt account 🤣🤣🤣)

Edit:

Also credit to @Doodle who showed me the way round with his #1 time!
I'm glad it helped you, circle of life! Sometimes I get help from others, sometimes I end up helping! Most importantly, we all help each other get better and improve 😊 Well done, sir!

Speaking of circle of life...

That's the whole purpose of this thread is for the higher-skilled group to help the lower-skilled ones. That's our mission here. We can all learn from each other by reading old posts or by following ghosts and replays. Happy Hump day. Race on fellows.

3 more races at the RBR, 3 more terrible results. Nothing went my way again. Is it me? Am I the vortex of danger? I get PIT maneuvered in my first race for no reason that I saw. I then spun and rage quit. The next race I got 5 seconds in penalties after I get rear ended, and then sent into the back of another car that got sent off track. The last race I was just getting purposely bumped for no reason that I could see. So, yeah, not a good time. I did get my time down to a 1:28.805 in the Porsche with no tuning as I don't got time for that.

In my just 5 months of Dailies I've seen almost everything. Of the approximately 400 races I have run, I have finished approximately 320, which means a good 20% of rage quits, often starting from pole. Initially I was fuming and, at the end of the race, I always made all my frustration known to the perpetrators, if I hadn't already retired. Perhaps out of habit, perhaps out of disillusionment (often maturity does not coincide at all with chronological age) or simply because we live in an era where acting like idiots behind a nickname is very common; I just don't care anymore. Even if at the moment "I feel delirious", I go straight on my way. Nowadays I only use the chat to say hello or to "forgive" those who have the elegance to apologize for an error that compromised my race, otherwise I simply shut up and leave the lobby as soon as possible, without wasting my time. I recently shared a video where I was 2nd at the last corner in Suzuka and I came last thanks to a "pleb of the week" (I stopped with rage quits since some time already). I can only pity certain despicable individuals. I prefer to move on, with the certainty of being a better person who does not stoop to certain levels.

Grid starts should be the norm, only exceptions being for a proper endurance race which we obviously are not allowed for some reason
Love grid starts, it has a lottery feel, if the car in front drops a gear at lights out there's a 50/50 chance of hitting him if ur not paying attention, then there's the battle for space before 1st corner.... Love it.

So having a strong daily B QT I moved over to C to see if I can tame the Genesis the answer is mixed. Initially I went better with the M6 and my M6 setup and got down to a 1.28:1

Moved over to the Genesis and used my beemer tune and dropped to a 1.28:080 with a session optimal of 1.27:750

Just done another short session and was able to just barely get in to the 1.27:917 so good progress, not sure it's competitive enough.

I think my diff settings from the beemer don't quite suit the Genesis which is way more peaky in the torque delivery so has more diff slip.

Not sure if ill attempt C this week and try to make hay while the sun is shining across the border in Germany

Lol it seems like the penalty line for Race B changed again today as even following my own ghost at 10pmh (to have the same exact line) is now a penalty... If it wasn't for this stupidity, I had broken into the 1:30's on a few occasions but have to settle for a mediocre improvement (for the number of laps I did) to go down to 1:31:455

So I've started to notice that the penalty line varies, I'm not sure what causes it to vary but in VR it's a lot easier to place the car consistently so my replays I can compare.

I think there is an early line cross more like running the early exit curb and the intersection you pointed out. There is also a how wide you run one. Previously I could basically kiss all my cute adoring fans on the way through but now it's a lot tighter.

It's not the make or break of an exceptionally fast lap but frustrating to drive to all the zones

Edit

Daily B in a pretty clean lobby A/A+ & S: it's fast and it's mostly just jockeying for a position here or there.

But and I mean this. The awareness, space and pace is what good driving (read fast) looks like (mostly) 🤣

Roll the tape (gets chaotic last lap at the chicane!)

Gran Turismo 7 | what clean racing looks like. Mostly 😂
