Society as a whole seems kinda irritable at the moment. That has the potential to creep into everything.

I would think that especially true in any environment where the shackles of reality are broken thereby unleashing all sorts of fun tom-prickery. People who feel like they've no control in the real world will exercise it mightily in the fake one. Anybody know how this tracks across other online gaming environments? I've zero experience elsewhere.

Now, all that said, I feel kinda bad having experienced next to none of it. The idiots and clowns are the aberration for me of late. Do I take a hit here and there? Certainly, but not like what's been displayed/discussed. The last Daytona race I posted was pretty much the entire week. Had two with Asshat McGuillicuddy and that was it.

Good luck out there and I hope things get better for all. I mean, at the end of the day we're rankled about stuff in a video game so life is pretty damn good. 👍

I was going to hop back in for some Race C, but my pedals are acting up and I don't feel like cleaning them. So I'll take that as a sign to not do anything this week. Based on what I've read the driving standards are getting worse and I want no part of that. Plus, I'm still having a blast in Monster Hunter Wilds so I'll stick with that for the time being.

Had a decent race at brands at lunch, managed about 12 mins of quali and managed to get down to a 31.7 in the lambo, started 10th and gained 6 spots, some nice clean close racing out there but it looks like I’ll need a 30 flat to be competitive so perhaps the G70 comes out tomorrow, need to try the 4c & megane too as they were in the vicinity

Race A looks a lot of fun, must make some time for that this week

Both are strong! I nailed a 31.2 with megane! B/S lobby pole and 1 my 1st DR B race

Daily race A is awesome. I’m in ❤️. Now is it wrong that I want a 25 lap version of this with a pit? :D
Agreed. Been enjoying a handful of Race A today, majority of which yielded me a few more Top 5 tallies. The last one I did I couldn't win, but it was even more satisfying because it's my best defensive race so far with two faster riders trying to nab 2nd from me for the first 9 laps. I only got to let up on the final lap.

This week's Race A may just single-handedly bring me back to doing Daily Races regularly. 😎

3 races at Brands starting from P3, P5 and P6 in what it seemed americas top split.

Pourpousely taken out in the 3 of them.
Wont upload the vids to not bore anyone, but it was the same method. Flying cars from miles behind in killer unpunished sendings.

Took a massive hit of DR and I think I had enough for this week.
Something really needs to be done

Hope you are having fun guys, cause I dont

Hi guys, last week at Daytona was one of the best so far for me since I'm doing daylies. I changed the livery to the Mazda 3 (wich I got as a gift from the Gt7 lottery), but couldn't bare to do even a single lap at Bathurst, Daytona was too addictive. I must say that the best was Sunday, when I had the most fun and best racing. Saturday was a good example of what Glen is saying: total idiocracy from people who are not here for racing but just for their maniacal ego. I started all races but one in pole (the one I was 2nd on the grid I had the 6th in leaderbord in 1st and we raced perfectly till some monkey ruined everythings). I "saw" the faces of multiples A+ drivers rage fuming when the lobby was displayed, cause they couldn't cope with the odd of a DR B driver in front of them, coming from nowhere. Some of them showed really the worst, without knowing that I wasn't really caring, but rather laughing at them and their poor ego. Sunday was total opposite; fine, fair and clean racing all day long with almost "no contact" even in very competitives lobbies. I ended up 18th overall on the leaderbord, country leader and class leader for the 1st time.
For this week it will be Brands with the NSX, starting from an 1:30.3 with the aim to go to the mid-high '29 by the end of the week. Somehow I feel better on it than on the Lambo, especially from the point of the gearbox spacing, wich i prefer on the NSX.

Edit: Checking my stats I found that I own 140 GTWS points and I don't know from those came from since I never participated in one of those events (I don't even know what they're for actually). I know it may be off topic, but what are GTWS points for?

Good job!

I had 8mins quali this morning in the g70 and put in a 31.1

I was in a race with A+ drivers with pole at 30.0 🤨

And then it ‘unexpected error’d’ me 🤷‍♂️

Let’s see what it looks like at lunch, but I’ll try that megane 👍

I'm not having fun either.
Yes, PD needs to do something. A first step would be to bring back the reporting system in the lobby for unsporting behavior. Not sure how much it would help but it's a kind of deterrent.
I'm also not having fun because Brands Hatch with the sky completely covered by the clouds for the entire duration of the race is depressing as hell.

I'm not gonna race this week.

That’s British weather for you haha

I suppose it’s brightening up at the moment so could have followed suit 😁

I don't think this is a top 200 times issue as mentioned previously on the thread, or a DR specific issue as it occurs across the DR's; those at the front of a DR C grid over a second ahead with a quali time will still get punted by someone form the back just as in DR A+.

I've said this before, but I wonder with the penalty system being so poor and really being a blunt instrument as it ruins both the victim and culprits races, that the use of heavy damage is a better way of forcing people to drive better. Especially if it could be coded that heavy damage was only suffered by the car causing the impact, that could act as a completely different deterrent to penalties.

You gain them from Gran Turismo World Series online qualifying events (although the current season is an Exhibition only):

If you're at DR A then that'd be just one race probably. At DR B it could be one or two that you've done...

... and somehow not realised.

I think the racing at RBR will be better than people think based on what I saw last night. It's 11 laps so lots of time, if you can get through lap 1 the field will spread enough and there's 3 legit strategies you can take.

Driving this track with a wheel vs a pad is super interesting. The double left handers, especially the second one, are so, so much better, can really tuck the nose in vs the inherent d-pad understeer. However, turn 3 (it's really turn 2 but whatever) I literally sometimes come to a STOP with the wheel. I am not sure what it is, I think I am nt turning the wheel enough but the car just wont rotate.

It’s weird because it’s so up hill at the apex, you have to coast in to it and it can help to take a really square line rather than try and go through in a typical racing line arc.

Edit, these are a couple of clips on the line I take for it on a wheel.

Yeah if I can take a super wide line and square it up I am Ok but if I try and pass on the inside I basically stop, I might try changing the lock on my wheel, I have it at default and there's more than a few situations where I feel i need to turn the wheel too much.

You have to turn quicker I find on the inside line and definitely a lot slower.

My new go to is the wider square line so I can straighten up and accelerate earlier more the cut back overtake rather than the block pass.

I will take your advice tonight.
Its been ages since I race in RBR but for what I could "taste" last night, it couldnt be worse than Brands Hatch

Oh and from what I saw last night, whilst the Supra dominates the world leaderboard at RBR there was a huge mix of cars in my high BS split last night. Just one race so not sure if a trend but seems the Porsche, Genesis, BMW etc are all legit options to race with.

I'm still convinced that part of the unsportmanship that we're observing at the beginning of the week is also due to the poor consistency and higher rate of driving mistakes caracteristic of this period of the week. Obviously some "dirty monkey" will behave orribly from the start to the end of the week, but some move that we deem dirty are just mistakes likely to decrease near the weekend. The impossibility to accept that a driver is faster is an other story. Personally I respect (by standard) the driver in front of me at the start just from the QT that's faster than mine. If it's significantly faster, I don't even think to "figth" him, I'm happy to just follow (if i'm able and faster enough) and try to capitalize if there's a mistake, otherwise I exploit the situation to learn where he's faster trying to understand why he is. I know also when a driver is capable or just an idiot diving at every gap, the latter isn't basically a good sim racer, so I don't deem him valuable of any consideration or judjment, nor any post race chat.

This is a key strategy for gaining DR as well. I'm actually pretty happy if I'm behind a A+ driver (as long as I'm not starting at the back of a stacked lobby but in a top 8 position) as they are usually (but not always) faster than me and I can chase them like a TT. I learn from their lines and I am usually a good percentage faster per lap than I would be if I was out in clear traffic.

I've had races where I was happy to QT in 2nd just so I could follow a faster driver and sit on their coat-tails rather than be on pole. If in a tight lobby and I'm on pole, I've never done well. If in 2nd or 3rd I've usually done a lot better. While it might not improve my win count, from a DR points perspective, a 2nd or 3rd gains you a lot more than losing it in a marginal move and ending up at the back of the pack.
