The new daily Race C (Yas Marina - Gr.3 - RM & RS - 12 laps) is going to be wild & enjoyable. I barely touched any daily races since the last 5 days but now again will be hooked to this race in particular.
I'm looking forward to this, I enjoy Yas so nice to have a long race there.

I'm just glad to see the back of Interlagos!!! I hope they delete it from the game

Race A car is a ‘23 Nissan, and the race B has the new Hyundai TCR 😁

But man o man, the track has become worse. Before You used to barely get a track limit penalty but now after the update (I think), it's damn easy to get track penalties around the track. I just finished my first race & literally on the first four laps, I got track limit penalty in 3 of them. After that was not pushing as going even close to the outer limit of kerb such as T1, T3/4, T9, T11 to the finish line all can give penalties if all 4 wheels on the kerb.

Anyone tried trial mountain yet? I’m not sure whether I should just take the plunge into Fuji and drive that Hyundai all week, I need to make up my mind by 1200 😂

Hyundai. Haven't checked the leaderboards yet to see how friendly the BoP has been to it, but I just really like the way it drives.

edit - just checked the Fuji rankings. Don't drive the Hyundai if you care about being near the front :(

Come on PD, it's time to split Gr4 and move the FWDs into their own category. Could have some great races with the Elantra, Megane, RCZ, Scirocco, TT, 3 & Swift.

Oh great

What is the meta? Probably Citroen or genesis?

Same as ever - Citroen, Genesis, Lambo, the odd Mazda & Porsche.
Yas Marina is a Porsche party.
The Nissan used for Trial Mountain is a boat.

Not much for me this week as I don't like Yas at all.

PD must have seen certain people moaning constantly about fixing the Yas track limit "abuse".
Be careful what you wish for
This is a public forum where people can moan or groan.....if You're too uptight about it, contact the admin instead of humming old tunes back & forth....:D

Also, You ought to let people know on other social media platforms that just talking about inconsistencies & absurd track penalties is not moaning....

Porsche is meta in a track where it should be "struggle" bc of top speed, prepare for the 911 meta all this year
That would be fine by me. I really like the car, even if it's a bit of a handful on worn tyres. Just don't like this weeks track.

Yep not much racing going on this week I reckon, had a punt fest of a race at Fuji at lunch, all BS surprisingly

Started an alt account (Goanaught) under USA flag. Normally I've got time for 1 or 2 races on Monday afternoon, but I often don't dare to on my normal account.

Did 1 Yas Marina race: Started and finished P1, as expected in a DR D lobby. My fastest lap was 1:56:6 on 3 laps old soft tires. About 2 seconds slower than I saw Konsta do in a Rory stream. Not too bad of a start for me. I chose the new Porsche and it doesn't disappoint.

I must say, I will sorely miss race C and I honestly feel it's the best daily race I've ever taken part in.

The unpredictability of the rain patterns brought so much strategy and variety to the races, making gambles could pay off big time or come crushing down on you. It seems my strength lies in rain strategy since my DR rocketed this week up to its highest level ever this week at 39252, whereas I've spent most of my sport career in high B.

As much as I enjoyed the week and the rank climb, the win itself was eluding me and seemed more unlikely the higher my rank got. Had two heartbreaks of less than a second from victory (one being 0.090 off!). For the final day I decided to slap my classic livery on the lexus and lo and behold, I was finally immediately rewarded for my efforts in the grey and yellow. Not only did I manage to win, but I secured it all the way from P16.View attachment 1510628View attachment 1510629View attachment 1510630View attachment 1510631View attachment 1510632It's absolutely crazy to me that I am securing a win in tricky conditions against A+ drivers, I never would have imagined. Next week will be boring normal dryness again and I'll probably tumble back down to B. Farewell wet Suzuka, and thank you Lexus SC430.
I agree, this was a really great event, shame I did not have more time to race.

Race B for me this week, I generally dislike sloppy road cars (especially with DR on) and I despise Yabbi Dabbi. I do wish Race A had more classic race cars, the Maserati, Alfa, Mercedes, Honda, Jaguar, Alpine etc, there's a raft of great old time race cars we rarely use that are so fun to drive because they are race cars, so have grip, but are not total aero demons given their age so can toss them around a bit.

Again, I've made some tweaks to the layout this week, so please let me know how it feels for you :D

I think I'll move the boilerplate/overview image back to the end because it feels too crowded with not-prose at the top but... feh.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: R Factor

February 2026’s first set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races is now live, bringing three new events for players to tackle over the coming seven days...

Wow...I get a new Gr.3 car to drive and they're feeding me this crap to race on?? Not a fan of 'Lagos and Yas is NOT 'yaaassss' at all. This has been like taking a vegan to a steakhouse for a first date, lol.

That said, the new Porsche is better than the old Porsche in EVERY imaginable way. Ran a couple at Interlagos in the old just to remember the track/post a delta to shoot for. That was kinda useless given I've always sucked here, but also because I was within a tenth on my first lap in the new car. Didn't run many (10 or so) but managed to scrape more than 1.5 secs off the 991 lap with plenty more to find. As stated, not a 'Lagos fan, but was starting to have some fun out there in the 992.

I'll throw it at Yas to see if Gr.3's are somehow magically better/more enjoyable than the Gr.4's. Not likely, but I'll try.😁

I didn't even know Race C had variable weather in it lol, I would've raced on it, I was laser focused on Race B

I won 11k DR points this weekend though

I’m hoping I can carry this momentum to this week’s Race C

Yeah the pendulum has swung rather far the other way. I quite enjoyed it before, but it now joins RBR and CGV on the list of greatly annoying tracks to try and race on. Doubly annoying when you get run off, lose time, and get a penalty as the cherry on the cake.:ouch:

Still I'll try and persevere with C and try and find a flow to it again. I've done a few B's, but really need to be starting in the top couple of rows to compete for a win if everyone is being clean

Got my QT in C into the 1.59s (still way off the top times), but that included a 4.5 seconds penalty (!) - had a huge off, which put me way ahead of my own previous fastest time somehow, even after I'd served the penalty 🤣

Why nobody told me the Elantra has super top speed? got my first gr4 ever with it, I overtook everyone like cones in the straight lmao

I feel like the car in front of m just now didn’t pit on race C and then ducked into the pit lane coming round to the finish line on lap 12? Is that a cheat code for this race?

I prefer Yas at night, looks better

No. You will not satisfy the tyre requirements by pitting before you start the first lap (if you're far enough back to not pass pit entry before the start) or as you finish the final lap. The tyre switch (or, where required, mandatory pit stop) must occur on a lap after you have crossed the finish line on a full racing lap.
Thanks @Tidgney . Mondays are incomplete without Your lap guide vids + gameplay of the dailies. :gtpflag:

If it’s any consolation, I was in the office today so only got to read your race guide around mid afternoon and I like the changes, the TL;DR at the top of each section makes so much sense, “parameters > narrative” I like it.

As a very side note I find it funny that track limits are so misunderstood in this game. They have quite detailed settings for them, so are “whatever just don’t crash” and this week it’s championship level which is as tight as it can get.

It raises the question really of do people even try to respect tract limits or control the tarmac that they push that hard?
