When the USA attacked and starts invasion in Afghanistan, without any NATO authorization / mandate, don't remember any sanctions against american gamers...
Quite interesting. But this is how the double standard works in the world.

Anyway, it's a gaming site, so I think we should discuss about the games and not anything else.
Sure didn’t take long for someone to use the “whataboutism” card.

Not to mention, it was Afghanistan that provoked any invasion, as usual.

Back on topic. This was indeed a smart move. Once Putin is assassinated or removed from office, the new President can bring back freedom to Russia, and they can get their Gran Turismo back.

But good luck on march 11 when Russia disconnects from the global internet and the internet blows up
I'll text you here on March, 12th, just wait. 😉
Yep, punish the gamers. That will show Putin!

Wow.
I think it's not to punish the gamers, it's to avoid losing profit - the games in Russian PS Store are priced in rubles, which are devaluating. As a result, Sony gets significantly less money from each copy sold to Russians. That's why the Russian Nintendo store also closed for re-pricing. Some other new games on Russian PS Store such as Elden Ring are also removed and refunded to those who bought them. I think when the Russian national currency is stabilized (or, should I say, "if"), the games will return under new prices.

As much as I deplore the invasion of Ukraine, I do not agree with these measures which affect innocent Russians from the simple joy of gaming.

Unfortunately that is the whole point of sanctions. To negatively impact the daily lives of the Russian people so that their government is pressured to change course. If the people still get their iPhones, gaming, Apple Pay, nice food and all the "simple joys" of life, then they'll just continue to consume State TV propaganda and buy into Putin's lie filled narrative.

A few months without all these "simple joys" and they'll start seeking out real information and finding out what's really going on in Ukraine and how their murderous leader has been lying to them.

That's what Putin fears most.

I think most companies do such thing for their own good. Remember that if you sell something in Russia, you get RUB in return, not USD or JPY or any other currency you might want. The value of Russian Ruble has been dropped in half for the past few weeks, and no one knows how further it would drop. Furthermore, you can't exactly pull out your hard-earned Russian Ruble from Russia at this moment, thanks to the SWIFT sanction. So if you stay with Russia, you're going to handout your product at 50% or 5% or 0.5% of the intended price (unless you change the price), and then you can't even take the money cause your oversea branch will just have to sit tight on the money pile. No wonder why there are so many companies not wanting to sell anything in Russia.

He is from Hungary as myself. Our national media's "experts" blame the US for everything. They are okay with attacking Ukraine since our leaders have nationalistic ideas as well, and since in 1918 we lost a territory to Ukraine what they want back; they hoping that if Putin conquers Ukraine we get back that territory.

So I think B_Springer's answer to the "Afghanistan attacked first" will be; "Bin Laden was an inside agent".

Btw.. i am okay with the sanctioning, as i am ashamed myself of our leaders. But we have "free" elections, WE elected them, as russians elected Putin. We're **** tho, since corruption is huge here and these post-soviet leaders learned how to control everything (through media and generating hatred against the unknown - hatred has a very strong community-building effect, and its so easy to hate those what/who we dont know personally) in the mask of freedom. In some cases they even say that freedom is not good, people should have been told what to do. Of course in the defense of the nation.
Anyone telling different than what the government idea is; wont be shown in 80% of the media since they bought nearly everything except the internet (they dont block anything yet on national levels), and our population mostly speak only hungarian and watching TV, reading only hungarian sites (which they also nearly took over).

I just hope I can enjoy this game for a bit more before our little hitler stands besides putin, the whole war spreads over and everything will be lost because of stupid nationalistic ideas, power-crawing and stupid people's desire for blood and suffering, because they think they know better and so strong.

W/E, let me get back behind the wheels till i can.

Anyone who thinks that getting around sanctions designed to punish a country engaging in war is something worth bragging about deserves to suffer even worse sanctions, since the message behind the sanctions quite clearly hasn't reached them yet.

And especially writing "**** the sanctions" is really inappropriate.

**** Russia, this disgusting war, and this display of disrespect for the situation as a whole.
sanctimonious drivel, grow up
