I still can't believe there are about 5 songs exclusive to the splitscreen car select menu. There is a lot of menu music in the game, but you wouldn't know it by how repetitive it sounds.
Yeah hard for me to understand. There is no logic behind. The main reason I have muted all music is because of the bizarre idea to skip song at every menu change... I mean, really?
I've literally stopped being friends with people because they're compulsive song-skippers.
How do you get traction for your music in GT? Well, you need a REALLY strong first half minute and the rest doesn't matter.
Interestingly, GT6's default soundtrack shares the same vibe/tone of Sport's. It's overall a melancholy tone with bits of relaxing happier lounge pieces shoved here and there. But to me I find that it is GT7 that is the oddball, with varying pieces of music that don't quite fit together well. In 7 we have a soundtrack with heavy style of anime rock during races but then you get Rosalia and Lenny Ibizarre horse racing meme song (I forget what it's called) that plays. You have an inconsistent mix of jazz, lounge, and pop for the menus depending on the menu you're on.I mentally tuned out of it if its not the Brand Central music. If Take You Higher or Amigo was playing, I sort of sat there for a little while longer
Its sort of strange how GTS menu music never really made it into this game. Maybe it just wasn’t consistent with the tone they wanted to set?
Probably the same issue with GT6 Menu OST -> GTS.
My hunch is that they had to change the soundscape they were working with after the decision was made to change the menus visual design.Interestingly, GT6's default soundtrack shares the same vibe/tone of Sport's. Sport and GT6 were, simply put, more consistent with the overall tone they wanted to portray imo.
I suspect, seeing that PD is mostly a Japanese company, didn't realize those where religious songs and just saw them as Christmas songs.....even though Christmas is technically a religious holiday. There have even been church songs on the menu. I'm not kidding, I recognize some of them from the church my grandparents went to. They were played last December.
It's clear they were trying for a "old money" feel in the Legends Cars, and a "new money" feel in the Brand Central, but where does that leave the Used Cars? The music in that menu doesn't quite fit right and feels more like "old money" feel than "I'm a poor new driver that just a bought a car from a sleazy dealer" feel.
I really liked the 'cheesy porno' song loop that GT5 had. Made it feel more like used cars to me.
Can anyone please check for me and or tell me what I possibly could have done wrong....I mentally tuned out of it if its not the Brand Central music. If Take You Higher or Amigo was playing, I sort of sat there for a little while longer
