After just 17 miles of driving on Monza yesterday, to my surprise I drove 2:04.462 and I didn’t even warm up. I was really stunned by that and here’s why. The car felt so good to drive with great responsiveness. I was thinking to continue driving but said to myself, hell no, this is a good time for me, really happy with it, will try it again tomorrow.

This morning I clocked close to 200 miles on the track but the car didn’t feel the same like yesterday. I changed nothing in the game settings or my wheel. I have no idea what causes this but it was strange.😀

Anyway, as I said I am happy with this time and if I somehow improve until Thursday before a new TT comes, good, if not, still good.😀

The other day i passed 14 hours in Hospital in ER for crazy abdominal pain but i won't miss a TT for no fuc*ing reason.
Now i'm feeling better so i tried the GR.2 CGV one
I think us pad players got pretty screwed here 😂, a safe gold and that's it for me.
This damn sausages kerbs i hate them lol

i cant get close to gold on that track with my controller. Mangusta is an easy gold and no gold again with that red bull. Don´t know what i need to do :D

Hope you'll get better soon, inexplicable abdominal is no joke!
The downforce monsters are indeed not the most easy ones on the pad, but the Mangusta is quite some fun!

I need to ask: why was CGV added? Does anyone like it?

Yet another situation here where cars magically accelerate away from me, despite us leaving the corner at the same speed.

Someone really needs to spray whoever it is picking these TTs at PD with a garden hose, in the face.

The Mangusta one is all right...and it would have been different...if they didn't also have another active TT with a much, much worse car at the exact same track.

And then CGV...just...no. Can their next update delete this track?
Well, It is a F1 track, so there's that. And I do like it...I remember when it was added, I hated it, avoided it like the plague then the AMG TT came around and one of the Nations races (I think) and the car was, yep, your favorite, the X2019 🤣 Well, I had to learn the track then and one thing I remember was I was awful on it, mainly for throttle control. After a lot of replay watching / analysis, I started getting better, then I just got into the flow of it. Give it chance, find the flow, it is a fun track.
I quite like it, but it could benefit from couple of mods. For example, track limits in the second chicane need to be more strict so people don't cut the left hander so much and basically mow the grass with the whole car, and I don't believe the sausages in general are this much pronounced in real life, so they could be a bit smaller and less intrusive. But yeah, it's a nice track for me :)
I agree, the curbs seem extreme. Anytime I try to mow the grass, I go red, so I tend to stay away from it.
If you equip CSA on it, it goes from pure garbage to recyclable waste.
I think mine is already waste and starting to decompose. :ill:

Hell yeah! Nice lap!
I have had that happen before, it's almost like there is some small updates happening in the background not announced.

More laps tonight for a total 1100 miles in this NSX. A handful of top 100 laps trashed in the final chicane. But...I will try again tomorrow. 😎
@Manimal , cool top 10 bro!!!!

I think you literally did this as I was putting my 142.9 miles in at CGV again tonight, great work!

Since it was Memorial Day, 80 degrees, and sunny, I weedwhacked for the first time this year (much needed) and gave the elm in the back its first (of a few) trims for the year (it absolutely exploded in size after all the rain we've had recently), and then I did the grilling for dinner. So, unsurprisingly:

And yet, somehow...right on behind you @PowerJunkie, finding a solid 1/2 a second from yesterday, down to a 1:24.378 (with an optimum of 0.151 or so).

And apparently...it was quite close to not being valid.

I think I am happy with this one, so I will probably go and hurt my mental health by returning to Monza with the Red Bull...need improvement there.

NICE!!!! Hot lap after hating on the track earlier 🤣 And yeah, got a butt clench in the video on that turn, thought for sure it would go red. 🤣 🤣
I am hoping that last chicane is forgiving tomorrow, it would be really sweet to have two top 100's here.

Morning all!,

Busy days these days cause i am switching jobs after 25 years in the family business
So i am kind of exhausted in the morning lately, somuch change, and somany things to fix before i go

Ran very few laps this morning with 40.7 km  but wasn't all that bad, car felt way better than yesterday but didn't have much more time this morning

Far off @Manimal his lap though , congrats buddy on that top 10, insane!

sheesh...I'm barely in silver at CVG and having trouble even getting in silver in the Reb Bull. I've been hitting gold relatively easily this season but these three current events are going to be silver at best and I'll be lucky not to have to eat a bronze! Annoying.
I'm also .65s removed from gold at CGV. It wont happen so I'll be adding a silver to my collection. Shame 🤷‍♂️

I won't even try the Red Bull at Monza. I don't like the cars, barely drive them... I would be lucky with a bronze there so I'll let it slide.

The DeTomaso at Monza is better. It doesn't like to turn in while you are braking though...

I didn't even realize how close it was until I re-watched the lap to record it...and then I went to take the photo

I found with the last chicane that braking just slightly too late was causing me a number of issues there, same with the previous one. Said previous one was hard to wrap my mind around getting down to 2nd gear and not trying to trail brake in. Re-watching the lap, I didn't even go over the first sausage...but somehow it didn't throw me off the track.

Oh no, I've used up all my luck - the Red Bull car is gonna go terribly. :dunce:

After 15 days without playing GT7, I don`t know if I lost performance or both TT from Gr2 and RB are really difficult. I don`t remember last time I got twice in a row a gold time without a good margin. Both are about 2,87% from gold, I took a lot of time to reach that.

CGV was easier with Lexus because has less understeer than NSX, but on the other hand it is a challenge not hit the gas pedal too much and oversteer. Also, Lexus handle worse than NSX in the sausages.

About Monza, I did reached gold in a few laps, but overcome my current lap time was impossible. I was doing the first chicane very quick, but after reach gold and tried to improve the lap, I started missing the ideal apex from firsct corner of chicane, but improving the other sectors. Easily losing about 3 tenths since then. So I decided to stop because this is mental as you know you can go fast but can`t repeat that.

Now let`s jump to Mangusta.

Same here for CGV and Red Bull. Since I won't become a pad god like @Gomario JSP anytime soon I have to settle for silver in most Gr. 2 and higher time trials. The precision required is just way too much for me.

Pad god.... noooo, but thanks 😂
But I do struggle to if it goes to fast tbh, high downforce is just very difficult on the pad Indeed, and i do like it less, so the slower the car, the better is gets for me 🤪😂
But the rebull at Monza is just difficult no room for error and hideous curb physics...then CGV is just a very akward and technical track, yeeting GR2 here is sort of the worst of the worst , so don't beat yourself up over silver mate, these are just not easy, and don't forget that the WR times are flawless and out of this world, kind of sets the bar on a serious level for these challenges!

You and I are usually pretty close. I managed to gold the Pantera, the Red Bull i got to within 3 tenths and my optimal suggests I can do it but I can't be bothered. Group 2 CGV though, I cannot remember the dang corners, they all look identical and have no brake markers, it's a really half baked track from PD, looks sort of half finished. I am JUST a silver so nah I am out.

There are brake markers, good ones. Every TT, @Tidgney does an outstanding job with his videos to help with this.....

Whoever is coming up with these combos recently must be a masochist.

Here we have a track full of low-mid speed chicanes and hairpins and a car that's biggest strength is how much downforce it produces. And then, in your low-slung downforce machine, you're expected to go off-roading over the world's largest kerbs. Who really thought this was a good combo?

Anyway, 150km was more than enough time to put into this, most of that was invalidated laps anyway (and more than I care to admit were invalidated before the lap even started)

At least Monza has some high-speed corners to utilise the downforce in this thing, but again, having to do off-roading over chicane kerbs in such a car is just odd. 50km to get a safe gold was all I had the patience and time for here.

Didn't have much time for trialing this week, I think I picked a good week to not sink too much time into this

Onto the Mangusta at ... Monza again (again, who is making these???)

New contest TT is up and it's a fast fun one,GL all ! ......i believe the winner gets a title,it's part of the days of play tournaments and everybody who joins gets an avatar...looks like a livery as well..."All participants in tournaments for Gran Turismo 7 will also earn an exclusive Days of Play livery".......

Huh? What's this? Improvement with the Red Bull? It's not possible!

Managed to get it down to a 1:24.332 with a 0.181 optimum. TC on 0 this time around and seemingly all that time with throttle control at CGV helped out here. Still crazy that such a time is still over 2% (2.15% currently).

The insane people up top are still almost two seconds faster, but I know I don't excel with high-aero at high speed, so this may be where I leave it (I'll probably try again tomorrow, before it ends, because I apparently like punishing myself).

But oh boy, another TT that I know have to tackle...because three wasn't enough.
