Quick question on Inskcape, for text object, we can do 'Put on Path' to create a curved-like effect on the text. How can we do the same for path object? For example, I want to make the below path curved so I can put it on my helmet visor. Thanks!
Path effects > add live path effect > bend

Then edit on canvas

Then drag the middle of the green line up, or down, to suit. (Remember to resize your page as the bent image will be outside of that.)

Path - Path effects - Bend, Toggle edit on canvas, Wiggle it about abit then object to path to finalise.

I should really refresh before posting when I wander off to get tea

Thanks for this! May I know for the helmet visor, should it be bend upward like the one that you posted or bend downward?
Upwards, probably. When bending a decal I usually made a few different versions with differing amounts of bend to see which one worked best.

EDIT: Bear in mind that if you manipulate the decal in game, that will also affect the amount of bend.

Let me give it a try, thanks for the tips!

I was wondering if anyone can convert this for me, i tried using canva and it did converted it to SVG but unfortunately its too big for the page to upload

Thank you :)

can someone help me reduce the file size of this SVG to fit the GT7 requirement of 15kb
The files contains a bitmap of the Samurai (which won't work becomes GT7 only accepts pure vector graphics), and also the wolfs face that was behind it...

It's not about just reducing the file size, you need to vectorise the Samurai, remove the wolf, then worry about the filesize.

There's still an image embedded in the svg file, a gradient on the orange circle with countless unnnessecary stops sharing the same position and SVG filter effects like shadows (this is what is probably causing the image embedding of the rendered filters/effects). These inflate the file size and won't work on import. The file is around 15kb after all of these issues have been addressed. Haven't tested the file in game, though.

Which software did you use to create the svg, if I might ask?

You'd make it a lot easier to help you, if you would:
  • give more context to your search (e.g. race series, main sponsor, driver, image of whole car)
  • post an actual screenshot to make auto tracing easier instead of a cellphone photo showing your screen's moiré
If there is noticeable effort on the requesters part, there's bound to be more sincere effort on the helpers part.

Edit: this is what I get from your source material without spending too much time on it:

looking back at when i posted it i think i rushed to post on a break at work and completly messed up my end. this won't happen again.
thanks for the help you have given from my shoddy request, its a decal i've had very little luck getting any decent picture off
best i've found is this... Ohlins Super Taikyu Evo X

No worries. Was rather trying to explain why no one responded to your first request :scared:

Thanks for providing pic and context. If it's that tiny, you can probably get away with the faux text in the version I uploaded.

It's ok completly understand where your coming from.
Thats exactly what i've done as it's about the same on the car i'm doing just lower on the bumper.
Thanks again for the help

Two files, would just about have got it in one after optimisation, but it was losing definition, so I did it as two... as shown below. They're both to the same scale, so place, duplicate, replace technique will work.

Not piling on or having a pop at you, I would just echo for everyone else what @ikon_313 said. I skipped your request because even replicating the faux logo you had previously would have essentially resulted in a poor quality decal, so I did go looking for the original, but as Ikon says, with no context the chances of finding anything were slim to none.

As a note to everyone, I redraw stuff because I think it gives the best quality at the smallest file size, that Samurai logo about took about 1hr:20mins, if people don't put any effort into their request, why should I put the effort in to making it.
