All these are number 1, Trucking mission and money, auto repair budget, total shopping budget, vehicle resprays, safe house visits, distance by swiming and golf kart and boat are all changed, the rest should be unchanged, but check just in case.

If so, I don't know when it did it, but the URL for the pics hosted here changed slightly.

there is no longer a www. in the URL

I noticed this in the VC book when I was updating the other day-- guess I should have shared this info....

no i took them down because i had 30 odd pics taken up too much space at photobucket, so i redone my 1st place records and croped them into 1 image.

I dont tend to use GTP to upload things, i find it last resort sorta thing, that way i always know i have some space just incase i need it, especially for replays and files. Images i just use Photobucket or something.

I hadn't played in weeks, but last night I decided to have a racing session. It took a whole load of runs round Las Venturas to get that 1:54 time. The SF to LV was just a lucky run.

I think that for the next GTA game, Rockstar should either remove or reduce the traffic from the streets when you're racing or should make the traffic appear in exactly the same position and the same time during a race. The traffic on the LV ringroad is just daft. You're driving in one of the fastest cars in the game but when you start to overtake slower traffic, they suddenly accelerate ahead of you at stupid speeds. And everyone takes corners or changes lanes at 150mph in suddenly violent jerks so that when you're trying to fly past someone at speed they'll swerve right into you and ruin your race. Also, every so often at the start of the race, traffic will run right into you from behind just after the race starts. The driver AI is just horrible.

I also had a couple of goes at the San Fierro Hills race. I like that race. The traffic isn't too bad and it's an interesting course. There's only 1 main problem - the descent down Missionary Hill. It's really hard to descend at high speed without losing control and falling off and it's impossible to see your car and the road at certain times of the day. It's one of those places in San Andreas where the shadows are too dark at dusk and dawn and the only thing you can see under the horizon is the rear lights of your car. The road and your car is so dark it's invisible.

I was having one really good run down the hill when one of the opposition cars landed on top of me and sent me off the road! He must have skidded off the road above me and came crashing down on top of me.

Nice run in SF to LV.

SF hills is a lot of fun, my time by memory was a pretty decent run, im not sure if i can beat it, though i dont redo my races unless then get beaten so maybe i can now as im way better than i was when i set that record.

I like and hate the traffic, its fun swerving and dogdeing them but they are way to unpredicatble. Makes it hard, if there were predictable and didnt do what you just stated then traffic is fine.
 
No traffic is why I like Desert Tricks so much-- thats the only "street" race without other traffic as far as I can remember (I'm excluding the off road races of course)-- and its a bike race 👍 which are my favorites anyway-- I like all the bike races.

Dam Rider's traffic isn't too bad.
 
I don't think Rockstar did a very good job with the Freeway-speed traffic. They've made them a fair bit too fast, they've not done a good job on the changing lanes, and it doesn't look that great when the cars are sort of "skipping" when going at those speeds. That is one major area of improvement for Rockstar in my opinion, although I'm sure it'll be much better anyway on the PS3. :D

I'm not sure if I've noticed the reduced traffic. I've just been annoyed by the traffic that is there.

Winning the races is easy anyway. I think the traffic just gets in the way of trying to break your best times. I like to think of the races more as time trials than races against other cars, you're usually way ahead of the other cars pretty quickly anyway. The unpredictable traffic means that it's only very few runs around the course will be a "clean" run.

1:59 in that race is my "white whale"- I think I've started that race more then all other races combined-- of course I screw up the first bit most times and just drive in the water at the first bridge to restart.-- I've made it to the first bridge in 31 seconds before but I average about 33.

I did update the rankings tonight-- you are the number 1 again (helps that we added 5 new categories and you are the only one listed)-- I still need to upload the pics.

AARGH! My PS2 can't load things as fast as I'm doing Into the Country so by the time I get to within about a half mile of the end, I can't see half of the things I should be avoiding - signposts, lampposts, the barrier in the middle of the highway, so I'm driving blind and it looks like the car is floating.
