Jimmy, I think you should post the records in feet AND meters. Mainly because I was thinking of attempting to take Furthest Hoop back, but I don't know what 48.05 meters is... :/

I personally think it should be in feet, since there are likely more NTSC players than anything... but can't we at least compromise and have both?

I'd prefer feet too but since Jimmy has to deal with all the numbers it should be up to him--It would be a fair of work to convert all the stats over. Also its not clear how many people actively participating in the recordbook will have their stats in feet or meters.

I suggest we keep it in meters for now and maybe in about 6 months or so, when all the records are pretty much set, someone can go thru and convert everything and list them both.

At that point, I'd prefer all the distances travelled in kilometers and miles and the only other distances would be for jumps and hoop distance (unless I'm forgetting some)

Rockstar was attempting to please everyone and in trying pleased no one--I don't think it would be hard for them to put a place in the set up for you to select units (metric or english).

I find it ironic that even england doesn't use english units anymore-- the US (other then scientists) resists change-- it was probably the cause of the Australian-American war in the GTA universe

Famine: Are you going to finish 5 SA games in 6 days like for Vice City?

I'm thinking no. But I also think if you just pursue storyline missions you can be done in about 15 hours. 100% will be more than a little complicated.

Actually, we still DO use Imperial units. Our car have speedometers marked predominantly in mph by law, our road signs are in miles and we prefer to talk about someone being 6 foot tall, rather than 183cm.

It may interest you that the US doesn't in fact use "English" - or Imperial - measurements. The US uses "US" measurements - the gallon being a case in point. Although you should note that non-metric measurements originate in France and metric measurements are regulated in France.

I think you get 20 luck points for each horseshoe you find.

KM.

True. I found two horseshoes and I got 40 luck.

Hey Jimmy, I got a glitch for wheelie distance you didn't update me yet you updated the 1800meter one. :grumpy:

hello... are any of the guys from the original vice city record book still around? i'm suprised to see that i still hold some records :).. i've got a few records i want to post for san andreas but i'll probably need to get ahold of a digital camera first... 6000 something feet for insane jump distance

First of all, I will need a screenshot. Under that screenshot, use the format for posting Records. With both of those things, I will be happy and your Record will be posted. ;)

Also, I'm keeping everything at Metres (Meters) for now, and I'm not doing both. That would just be insane. After this settles down, and I find the time, I will do as Spuds said, and convert it all back to what the majority of people would like. As for now, Metres (Meters) is what it stays at.

Integra GS-R -- A screenshot is also needed for your Maximum Insane Jump Distance Record. Thanks.

Blake is also at my house playing the game, he has these Records to post.

Stoppie Distance -- 233.7 m - Blake
Fires Started -- 318 - Blake
Lowrider Race -- 1:20 - Blake
Badlands A -- 3:19 - Blake
Badlands B -- 3:14 - Blake

I'll get a screenshot tomorrow before the game gets returned. I cannot convert it to meters. Sorry in america I don't even know or have learned meters. I only know feet.

Ok here are some stats that I noticed I could be added to the list. A lot of things are blank, so I didn't know if you were waiting for 100% stuff.

Ok here we go:
Fires Started: 291
Longest Treadmill Time: 2:38
Longest Excerise Bike Distance: 145810.00
Bike Time 19:08
Gym Visits: 12
Pimping Level: 9
Girls Pimped: 2
Money Made from Pimping: 7500.00
Days passed in game: 66
Safehouse Visits: 70

Let me know if you need screen shots. I hope a digital camera is good enough.

That's why I placed a conversion factor in the first post. Use that. I also placed the site that explains the conversion better. I don't think anyone knows the conversion off the top of their head, that's why I put it here. So please use that in the future.

Magic069 -- First of all, please use the proper format to post your Records. Which means, exactly what you've done, but with " - Magic069" after the Record. Please look at the first page for more information. Secondly, your Exercise Bike Distance Record is quite high. I would like to know if it is in Metres (Meters) or Feet, please.

This is also for everyone, when posting a distance Record, please specify whether it is in Metres (Meters) or Feet. Placing a "m" or "ft" after each Record you post is a big help. Although, even better, I would like them all to be in Metres (Meters), but an indication that you have done this would be greatly appreciated.

More Records from Blake:

Days Passed in Game -- 150 - Blake
Safehouse Visits -- 158 - Blake
Fastest Lap in 8-Track -- 0:23 - Blake
Treadmill Time -- 22:47 - Blake
Distance Travelled on Treadmill -- 17354.00 m - Blake
Hospital Visits (Most) -- 14 - Blake

I've managed to get my Blood Bowl up to 2 minutes, but it was damn hard.

I only noticed, in the middle of this, that the opposition cars don't accidentally get the checkpoints. They're GOING for them.

(and you've not updated my 8-Track time :D)

It didn't look too hard though. I don't think there is much focus on it at this point, but by saying it, I think some people will have a crack.

Also, sorry about that Famine, I thought I had. Skipped right past it.

I think it's only fair that people
1) Convert their records to metres.
2) At least say whether it's feet or metres when they post it.

It's not fair to have Jimmy trying to figure out people's locations to guess whether they're PAL or NTSC or converting all the distance stats posted.

There's no excuse for not being able to convert. Here's how you do it. If you want to convert 1000 feet to metres, type the following into Google and click Search.

Code:
1000 feet in metres

And it will give you the following answer:

Code:
1 000 feet = 304.8 meters

Simple as that, and it saves Jimmy all the work of having to convert everyone's stats for them.

KM.

Ok sorry about that confusion:

Fires Started -- 291 - Magic069
Longest Treadmill Time -- 2:38 - Magic069
Longest Excerise Bike Distance -- 4443.00 meters - Magic069
Bike Time -- 19:08 - Magic069
Gym Visits -- 12 - Magic069
Pimping Level -- 9 - Magic069
Girls Pimped -- 2 - Magic069
Money Made from Pimping -- 7500.00 - Magic069
Days passed in game -- 66 - Magic069
Safehouse Visits -- 70 - Magic069

Thanks KM, that's pretty much what I mean. If I wasn't as busy doing alot of things, I wouldn't mind as much, but it does get a little irritating having to do it. Thanks.

Oh yeah, thank you for that Magic069, but you didn't need to post all your Records again, I'd already put them all in, apart from the distance one. Oh well, cheers.

Jimmy,

Are you still only taking new record entries as new #1's or have you been lax with that rule--- I've seen lots of non #1's posted.

I got a couple of decent ones that are not #1's.

My only new #1 is

Max insane jump flips - 3 - Spuds725

Yeah, I'm a little relaxed. I almost didn't post Magic069's Records though, as they were fairly poor (not saying they're all bad, but compared to everyone else's records they were). The only beef I have is formatting and conversions.

But post up those Records Spuds. 👍

I'll have to convert my jump distance--- it was a little less then KMs-- I forget the exact number.

Max insane jump rotation 1437° - Spuds725

Badlands B - 3:19 - Spuds725

I'm sure I have others but these are the only ones I know exactly and qualify.

Also, for those that were wondering:

I did check and Criminal rating is affected by money the same way as in VC and III-- 1 pt per $5,000 (earning and spending)--- I spent $35,000 on weapons today (10 Ak-47's I think) and it dropped by 7 points.

Spuds

Yeah, I assumed so. What about kills and helicopter/plane explosions? (referring to Spuds' post)

If you have a record that can place in the Top 5 of any fully filled Records, feel free to post them. It will knock out the lesser Records. However, if you post Records in the lowest slot of any non-filled Records, make sure they are decent Records, as I am tempted to just ignore them. I haven't done so yet, but I might in the future, as I don't like wasting time on those Records. Sorry, but that's the way it is. Just keep that in mind when posting Records. Don't just post to get your name in there.

Just added "Fastest Time for City Slicking" in the Missions and Races section. It's not in your Stats (as far as I'm aware), but I'm pretty sure you can find out your time at the Driving School by going up to the TV and looking at the City Slicking Video.

I thought it would be a good addition, as it's a hard car to drive and people are having problems with it, so some good competition might boost some people's skills with Driving (in -game and just generall playing it).

Now I think about it I think you can only see your %age not your actual time, but you'd need to check.

Well, I assume so, as in other Schools you can see your time for various things. If anybody could check, it would be nice, as I can't (I have to go to work soon, and I have to have a shower in a second).
