Welcome to Week 4 of the GTA San Andreas WRS

Beauty To Wreck

Avispa Country Club Car Park In San Fierro To Los Santos Pier

Comet

No modifications such as Nitro and Spoilers are allowed.

Start Anywhere in the Avispa Country Club Car Park and finish by driving your car to the end of the pier (the first pier when you come into Los Santos from the west (not the lighthouse one))

Rules

No cheats allowed.
You can go off-road and you can crash although crashing slows you down.
You must time yourself with a stopwatch or somethig similar. Start timing as soon as you set off and stop timing as soon as you finish.
PM your times to me, they will be posted up a week after the race thread is made.
No time discussing in the thread.

Here's a Template of what you should have in the PM to me.

Car - Comet
Time Taken - 99'99.999
Notes On Route Taken - XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Deadline - 9th Febuary

Have fun :)

I'd also vote for motorcycles and hovercrafts. ;)

It's a good thing I'm not making the races, because they'd all be in hard-to-reach locations. :D

The first pier (not the lighthouse one)?
The one with the big wheel near the end?
Might be difficult to drive off due to it having railings all round it!

As for the poll, there's no option for mid length races. Anything between 1 and 5 minutes is fine by me, but less than a minute is a bit too short.

Has the GTA:SA WRS died due to a lack of participation?
I'm only asking as we're now 10 days past the deadline, and still the results haven't been posted.

It would seem so.
I did post a time, so there should be at least 2 entries.

I guess the "No time discussing" doesn't apply this far past the deadline, so I did it in 2:02 Route
A cautious run driving at 90% and avoiding 90% of the potential mistakes ;)

You beat me again ;(
2:04 and I thought I had a good route too.

Start in the Northeast corner of the carpark, facing east.
Follow the building round to the southeast.
Ramp from the grass verge onto the freeway before the tunnel.
Turn into the stadium parking lot after the tunnel. T1: ~25s.
Go clockwise round the stadium and jump under the raised freeway.
At the airport head south through the tunnels. T2: ~45s.
Ramp out of the second tunnel onto the traintracks. T3: ~1:15.
Drive through the cornfields, rejoining the road at Flint intersection.
Cross the bridge into Los Santos. T5: ~1:45.
Pass under the road to the pier, and immediately turn right into the alleyway.
Ramp up the steps and onto the pier. Drive to the end. TT: ~2:10.

Anyone else? or did the two of us scare them all away?

Interesting route!
Mine is mostly a rerun of week 1, - so I guess my little rock-climbing stunt made the difference: Video

I would take you up on your idea that the winner plans next weeks race, - but there isn't much point if we've lost all the other contestants.
Anyway, - VCS should arrive March 9. here :)

That and your consistently clean driving.
I'm not a fan of the analogue sticks, so my driving is always a little bit rougher and less precise in San Andreas. However, the rock climbing route is definately smoother than the narrow alleyway, and it also puts you on the right side of the road for driving down the pier. I had to contend with crossing the line of traffic, or mowing all the pedstrians down.

With this current quiet spell I have already moved back to GT4 to get in a bit of practise before UKGTP7 which I hope to attend. With the imminent arrival of VCS I'd expect things to stay quiet on the SA front for a while, but I will return if there is enough interest to warrant another race.

Wow, that was awesome GTA_Phreak! (Especially the jump up the rocks.)

I wish I was as good as you guys driving cars. If we get a motorcycle race, you can count me in. :)

Okay, - looks like it isn't quite dead.
I'll put up a motorbike race shortly. I think I have an idea for a challenging course, just need a test drive ;)
