im stuck on the "protect diaz mission". i walk up the stars, it plays the tape, the cubans arrive, then i run down the stairs and blast the **** out of the haitians with the ole 12 guage. the bike guys come and i cant catch the prick. had 3 goes at it and ive got the ****s. any hints?

I'm on the Diaz mission where you have to race the boat to get to a pickup first - having big problems getting back...
I've discovered the helicopters - been cruising around in the police chopper, great fun!
I'm stuck on that damn Death Row mission. I'm just mucking around doing burnouts and wheelies and 'R3' missions. Oh, an why can't I buy guns from the ammunation in Downtown??, the one by the Condos. Two snipers, a Shotgun, a Revolver and a Uzi, but I can't buy them. I have over $100,000, maybe I need to complete a certain mission. Damn.

I haven't done cheats...and i'm ahead of you all! 
I did that boat mission first time (race to the big cruiser than get back). Now just wait until you do rub-out, you'll have fun. I finished that with 3/4 boat health left.
I'm further than Cobraboy too!
To do that just use the Uzi'
s with auto-targeting and target - blast everyone there. On the way back use the Admiral and just blast through the roadblock, then swerve in and out of traffic to make the Comet's crash. If anyone needs help just PM me. I'm now collecting some hidden packages, i have 45 now!

Got it - it was the guys standing on the pier that were killing me - I got a good series of shots in at them and got through it.
I'm not using cheats either - I've been trying to avoid threads on Vice City so I can go in to the missions completely cold. I'm doing it completely honestly - if I get busted or wasted, no going back to the old save game.
I got through Death Row last night - good mission, that - haven't done the follow up mission, just got Lance to hospital

Not that hard, as long as you start by killing the body guards outside with the rifle. But once you're inside, you can just use the Uzi that they carry. Kill a guy, hten take his ammo. You don't even have to walk into a room, just walk into the doorway and aim and shoot. Diaz doesn't take too many shots to kill.
Now that mission, is just anal. I tried 3 times until i got my friend to do it for me.

Hey, use the uzi's that you get from Rub-Out (I'm assuming you did collect them 
) and then just smash the galss with that. Then run like crazy shooting all the other glasses. I barely did it I have bought a few places and finished Haitans, have to do Love-Fists though now! :|

It only took me about two trys before I passed that mission.

I had thought about doing that but I didnt for some reason. I beat him just by plain racing him. Kinda strange that I didnt cheat and put him into a wall or something.
