Glad to hear PD have put forcefeedback into their latest demo. It wil be interesting to see what other differences there are between the versions, if any.

Also it would be nice to know when PD plan on releasing some more updates, and what they might be. I know I'm asking for a bit to much, to soon. But I'm not a patient person by nature ;)

I've no plans to buy a PS3 just yet (not at Sony's hiked release day prices anyway), so it will be some time before I get my hands on GT HD.

How can you tell what version you have? Im not sure if i got version 2.0 or not.

So, has the US version been updated as well?
Not yet.

By the size of the file:

  • US Store: GT:HD 1.1 = 626 MB
  • HK Store: GT:HD 1.1 = 631 MB
  • UK Store: GT:HD 2.0 = 690 MB
To check the file size, highlight your copy of GT:HD, then press the triangle button and select "Information".

I can confirm 100% FFB on a U.S. ps3!!! The version is 2.0 from the european store. For every1 who followed the FFB issue in the last couple of months - don't ever say again that it was not related to the immersion vs. sony lawsuit.

i have a very serious problem with the g25....I can play with force feed back but suddenly and random the g25 "loose signal and ff" and the car go straigh and is impossible to turn accel or brake. The wheel seems as not plugged in. It happens when i play and when all seems to work very well. I try all the 4 port and also disabiliting the joypad and other other ohter...buyt nothing nothnig nothing.....:nervous:

Always happy to share the good news, and even more happy when sharing the great news :).

New GTHD demo - labeled 2.0 inPlayStation Store - have the force feedback. The 2.0 was available from PAL store from midnight. Once downloaded, the game will just overwrite your existing data, maintaing your progress in-game. However, the version of the game in "instruction" section will still be labeled 1.16.

In attachment you can find few pics of new functions. You can choose between 2 strenghts of FFB.

As it is almost 3 AM in Croatia, I didn't bother to connect to Rankings, but I heard that the whole PAL database made in past few days by users who had the console earlier was deleted. Starting from sccratch then. I guess the new Rankings will start tomorrow (maybe even with separate rankings depending of tyres, but that is more hopeful wish of all N type users including myself...).

Nice night for me, see you at the leaderboards tommorow :D.

How does it compare to F1's FFB in "strength" ?

THX !

G25 works fine on mine, even with usb extension cord. FFB is quite weak, even turned strong, about 1/3 compared to max on PC I have experienced.

To check the file size, highlight your copy of GT:HD, then press the triangle button and select "Information".

my file size is 689mb. so i guess its the right one. Just got to attach the G25 to it and try i guess. Something to do this afternoon.

yeah i just found out about the error. You have to Play on HDTV in order for it to work. Anyway i tried on the g25. Works good but gt4 ff is alot stronger. But still great.

omg so i can't play it on my 29" tellie:( I just ordered a ps3 as soon as i heard that it supported the g25/force feedback, just got back from depositing the money:(

Maybe there game only supports PAL for normal tv's and it's all the same when using HDTV?

Don't know, but maybe that's why people from the pal region can play the demo without HDTV?

I went from a non HDTV to a 32" 720P and ITS A MASSIVE difference. 1080p would be INSANE!.

I spent the whole night trying to download it. It said it was 100% complete but I can't find it on the system.... So I have to start again - what a damn pain.

do you have to uninstall the old version in order to play the 2.0 version?
No. You can have both of them listed in your Games XMB bar. They have different icons to differentiate them, and they will be listed in the order you downloaded them (at least that's how they are sorted on my PS3). You can also tell which is which by highlighting them and pressing the triangle button, and then selecting "Information". This will tell you their file size.

Good point. If 2.0 does not have a 480i option, and for SD outputs a 576i PAL signal, then you would have to have a TV that accepts 576i.

So, possibly 2.0 will only work on TVs that can accept any of the following signals 1080p/1080i/720p/576i.

I have no way of checking this, as all of our TVs can accept 576i signals.

The only reason the PAL versions of GTHDC (1.16 and 2.0) didn’t work on my end is that I’m on a Japanese NTSC machine outputting at 480i—the screen simply displayed the error outlined in AndrewOval’s post. There have also been reports that the PAL version of Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection doesn’t work on NTSC machines; however I downloaded the Blast Factor demo off the NZ store and it worked fine.

The firmware could probably do with a 480/576 option, but I think the reason why these PAL games aren’t working at SD is that they’ve been specifically optimised to run at 50hz unlike NTSC’s 60hz.

Digital-Nitrate, whilst television support for different signals can play a part; in this case the NTSC PS3s never gets a chance to output at 576i. This is probably due to firmware restrictions, which I believe “could” be removed, as all PS3s are more than likely capable of outputting any signal regardless of their region.

USA CONFIRMED FFB

But NTSC can play with ffb in gthd now...
