GTTCC Mid-Week announcement
The series has already gotten off to a good start, and many would like to see the return for a second series. If this is to happen then unfortunately I will need to start work ASAP.
So, let's start with the cars. I will be keeping the 2 litre engine cars but would like a car entry list where the cars suit well and if this was a real life championship and that car appeared, people would like it belonged. A few weeks ago I came up with a list, but was a bit unsure whether to add them. however when people mentioned these cars, it showed I was working along the right lines. The cars that were mentioned I already had on the list, but was quite disappointed that my plan to add FR cars were ruined due to the lack of cars that would suit well. But big thanks to
@FaithlessEmo who gave me 2 perfect cars. I was going to keep the cars quiet but I think you guys deserve to know what i'm throwing around.
FF Cars
Alfa Romeo 147 TI 2.0 Twin Spark '06
Citroen C4 Coupe 2.0 VTS '05
Renault Sport (Clio R.S '11 or Megane R.S '11)
Volkswagon Scirocco R '10
Honda (Civic Type R '08 or Integra Type R (DC5) '04)
Ford Focus ST '13
FR Cars
BMW 120i '04
Suburu BRZ S '12
Scion FR-S '12
Not all of these cars may compete, but will keep you updated.
For the future of GTTCC the only thing I would wish to change is the tracks. In my opinin these cars are all every day road cars, but are a bit unique, with their style, and capturing the driver's hearts.
Next, I will give people until Wednesday night to complete a form (will put it at end of post so everyone reads this message first (VERY IMPORTANT). you don't have to but woud appreciate it if you did, as like the Scottish independence, this form decides the future of GTTCC
i'd like to keep the series as little change as possible. Will give you a quick run through of the form.
1. Just tell me your GTP ID (any info I am given will remain private unless you want it shared)
2. Which model you would rather Honda used
3. Which model you would rather Renault used
4. Race format, there are 3 options.
A (current format)
Qualifying
Race 1 based on qualy results
Super-Pole
Race 2 based on Super-pole results
Race 3 reverse grid based on R2 results
B
Race 1 based on revers championship positions
qualifying
Race 2 based on qualifying results
Race 3 reverse grid based on race 2 results
C
Qualifying
Race 1 based on qualifying
Race 2 reverse grid based on race 1 results
Race 3 reverse grid based on race 2 results
5. Can the final round be allowed to count as a drop score
6. Team format / titles available (Jimmmy's suggestion gave me an idea. Although the manufacture teams wont be welcome like before, option B might)
A (Current)
Drivers, Teams, Independent, Manufactures
B
Drivers. Factory. Independent teams, Independent Drivers, Manufactures
(If two team mates drive the same car, then they will be entered in the Factory team title. If they drive different cars then they will enter the independent teams title. If you have no team mate, then you will be entered into the independent drivers title.
6. Wet weather races. Yes or no
7. I thought that for the Daytona race this season it would be nice to race in the night
8. Select 6 tracks you would like to see next season. (Preferably in order of most wanted) Route X/7, Rally and kart tracks will be ignored. Do not vote for Daytona as if it works well, it will be automatically added to the calendar
9. Any other suggestions
Hope this makes sense guys. Unfortunately I need to start this eearly as it's a lot of work specing the cars. So if you could spare 5 mins to do this then it would help a lot. Next season the only details we'll need is the track list
Just a friendly bit of advice that for those of you who knows exactly how much tiring work it is to put a series together then doing all that work for nothing is really frustrating, so if there is no interest please say so now
